Adam Thielen was just released
-
Yeah, I've been pleasantly surprised with him so far but didn't love the pick simply because he's not a good pairing with Moehrig. If you're playing both those guys at safety then you're really lacking in the deep third. But, at the end of the day, when you're picking in the 4th round you realize you're probably drafting backups so I don't really have an issue with the pick.
-
Would like to think so, but they got lined up late and only had a few seconds to gt the play off. I'm still shock their sideline didn't call a time out.
-
He's got star written all over him. Dude was laying the wood yesterday.
-
Was the final pass not nice/clutch? Was the tight window pass to Coker on 3rd down not nice?
-
You got that right on replays, you could clearly see the Rams oline holding over and over and over again
-
Careful.... you put him in the Louvre, he will get stolen.....
-
Because you don't bring in competition if you're paying your QB 27m. Look at what we did with Darnold and Mayfield. He's either your guy or he isn't. Hes not playing on the final year and most agents aren't going to let a 5th year stand. They'll push for the extension now. If we're willing to do the 5th year, why aren't we willing to do the extension? That's why I didn't care what the win loss record was this year. We needed to know if Bryce is the franchise QB or not. At the end of the year we have to make a decision that locks us in to Bryce for the next 5 or we move on. Now maybe his agent doesn't play hard ball with the Panthers, but I don't see that happening. Most likely we decide Bryce's future in Carolina at the end of this season. Extend, trade or cut. That's the most likely scenario based on history. Bryce's play over the past 3 years, are you paying him 50m a season? And who are you letting walk to do it? Give Bryce his extension and Icky is all but gone. Can't pay everyone on that line and there are too many bonuses that will be accelerated. It's not so simple as just play him on the 5th year.
-
Impossible to say, obviously, but it will be an exciting end to the season. We are 100% responsible for whether or not we make the playoffs, couldn't ask for a better opportunity. And, if we pull it off, we will have a ton of momentum. If I had to wager...I'd guess we finish 2-2 by dropping the last 2 games. I think the Seahawks are a better overall team than the Rams, they lost by what, 2? And Darnold turned the ball over 30 times. I'm not saying we can't, but Seattle is much more physical.

I did. He made two really nice passes.

Bryce might be the most frustrating player we've ever had.

People who think Bryce is the most frustrating player ever to wear a Panthers uniform were not around here when Jake Delhomme was our QB. If anything, I'm getting a bit of deja vu. -

When they ran the ball they had better success when the Tams thought they would pass. Obviously there wasn't 8 in the box in the situation so Canales took advantage of it. He played the 2nd half as about as perfect as he could. The 1st half was brutal for him especially the last 3 minutes of the half. He wasted an opportunity to score. But running when they expected a pass and passing when they expected a run is what made the difference in the 2nd half. -
I do not expect anyone who doesn't believe in Young as the future to be swayed this year - regardless of how well he plays from here on. That's OK. I understand, it's no big deal. I just get tired of the constant small bits of praise only to be followed with some passive aggressive derogatory comment. When he has a bad game, it's absolutely toxic around here. When he has a good game, the haters still bring that toxicity to any post that allows them to get a dig in.

So what? Tom Brady had a whole career with passes like that. If the opposing team can’t stop it, continue with it. When Cam was the qb, fans were begging for passing options around the LOS. It why CMC was drafted. Just give Bryce credit.
-
I think having that injury happen the first game last year allowed him to thoroughly rehab and not try to hurry back. They took it a little easy on him and that was apparently more of a precaution.. early in the year they weren’t using him to try and get a pass rush.

Request: Can someone do a deep dive on our Defense?
woahfraze replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Part of the success in the 2nd half was that the offense kept the ball for 13:10 of the 3rd quarter. Credit to the defense for forcing a 3 and out on the Rams’ only possession of that quarter, but when the other team only has the ball for 1:50 of a quarter, of course the points scored for the half is going to be limited. But yes, further credit to the defense for in the 4th quarter, standing up and forcing their 2nd turnover in the red zone to prevent the Rams from taking the lead after having gotten gashed both through the air and on the ground on the prior possession. -
The haters are unbelievable. If Stafford had that stat line yesterday, he would be glazed by the haters.

I don’t know that it will even take a few more. That was about as HELLO they actually Will throw it deep as it gets in terms of impact and being noticed. But it should pay off somewhere else. Something will be given less attention, the coaches will need to find it quickly. The protection was excellent on those, pressure might be something people need to counter with. -
Look at the passing chart. Nine of his 15 completions were at or behind the LOS. This is just how we have to run offense with Bryce at QB.

I agree. We have more opportunities for draft picks to contribute earlier. But that's a good problem to have because you can build the team on cheaper salaries for a while if you do it right. If you do you have time to get your cap in order for the future. Dan is struggling with this cap thing but maybe Tillis can work his magic for Dan. -
The poster called it a one read play, which is a blatant lie. Bryce looked at 3 receivers before coming to TMAC for the TD.

After allowing 21 points in the first half, the defense held the Ram to only 7 in the second. Looks like Evero made some halftime adjustments. Unfortunately, the D was not prepared at the start of the game. Without the two picks the score could have easily been 35 - 10 at halftime putting the game out of reach. -

And as they successfully raise the talent floor, it gets harder to find a handful of contributors in a given draft. I mean a low talent floor is likely at least partially a factor in so many late rounders getting playing time. At the same time, players need meaningful reps IN Games, to really develop. A lot of guys don’t get that on better teams. So we could probably develop guys here better than a stacked roster. Lots of variables. -
Bryce completed 75% of his passes, accounted for 3 TD's, had a 46% 3rd down completion percentage and finished with a 147 QB rating. In what world is that NOT an overall good game?

SCO96 started following Derrick Brown appreciation thread.

I've been critical of Brown in the past. I never thought he was a bust. I just felt that to be taken that high in the draft he needed to have a bigger impact in the field, especially in terms of a pass rush in a pass-happy league. He always been good in most games against the run. This year his pass rush has improved. He has a career high 4 sacks this season (which leads the team), and we still have 4 games to go. That sack number is literally 1/3 of his career sack total (12). Even more impressive is the fact that he's having such a great season coming off an season-ending injury in 2024. He (and Horn) are really living up to their draft slot...and that's a good thing for the team and fans alike.
