  1. Past hour
  2. The question mark is health. We're already dealing with injury issues on the OL. Hopefully that doesn't linger.
  3. It won't be shocking if we have to do that again this year at LB.
  4. https://x.com/kassidyghill/status/1956733169266237860?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA Jalen Coker feeling better and running around after a fever held him out of Thursday’s practice
  5. I want us to win at home and make BOA a tough place to play instead of the joke it is now.
  6. Winston or Mayfield would easily be the best QB Pittman has ever had. Winston can put up the numbers his issue is turnovers. Pittman has been playing with trash. I'm not saying the guy is elite. I'm just saying I'd like to see what he could do with a legit starting caliber QB.

  9. There is no way to fix this defense in one season. Just having Brown back healthy is a huge and I mean huge difference. Let’s hope guys stay healthy because last year the panthers were basically pulling guys off the street and asking them to start.

  11. As long as we don’t go back to Frank Reich where we would throw out of shotgun and run from under center, almost exclusively, I’ll be perfectly fine. Run empty sets and make the reads easier for the QB’s. If we have the receiving core for it, go for it.

  15. Darnold was more than JJ. It was O’Connell’s scheme with a solid OL and having possibly the best WR to pair with Addison was just bonus. If you are expecting JJ with every top 10 WR prepare for some disappointment. We need some franchise players to build around right now. Pittman would probably be our best WR since Smith? I mean Moose broke 1000 yards 3 out of his 14 years and he is considered our 2nd best WR. I know offenses are more pass happy now but just giving some perspective. I’ll take a young 1000 yard WR and try to put him in a consistent offense with good QB play and he should have some great production.
  16. One nationally televised game (1/21 vs Cavs on ESPN), two streamed games (12/22 @ Cavs on Peacock, 1/31 vs Spurs on Prime). Brutal first 20 games. Can’t see anymore than 7 wins. That’s assuming we steal a home game as a dog and don’t drop a game like at the Wizards as the second part of a road back to back. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this year? What would you be happy with regarding our record, player health/development, and franchise progress?
  17. I think you are just having some selective memories. Steve Smith, Julius Peppers, Greg Olsen, Cam and plenty of others got lots of national love. We never got Dallas Cowboy QB hype but if that is what you want, you have to basically win titles and have extended periods of success to accomplish that. Remember that New England was largely a joke prior to the Belichick era. We had respect, although it was sometimes fleeting. It's most assuredly all gone now.
  18. Tbf we just let 2 possible franchise qbs go ( darnold and baker) and passed over 1 in the draft ( stroud) bc of feelings. Feelings matter a lot for this team
  19. Luke Kuechly is about the only player I can think of that has gotten the respect he deserves/deserved nationally. Otherwise…“Worst 5-0 team of all time…6-0…10-0…etc.” They gave Tennessee Karen air time on espn just to drag Cam. No comeback player award for TD. Peppers wasn’t respected to the level he deserved until he went to Chicago. We had a Super Bowl fixed before our eyes and nobody cared except Panther fans. The league forced our owner out over way less than Robert Kraft and other owners. We were forced to pay a DE on the franchise tag to not play for a whole season while the league kept him and us in limbo and that little rule was never applied that way again. This whole board banded together to vote on a stinking uniform contest just over the blatant disrespect by the media. They like us when we’re the plucky upstarts, that’s about it. I’m not so optimistic that winning has anything to do with the “respect”, or lack thereof, we get.
  20. Always fun to see articles linked and immediately be able to tell who from the replies even bothered reading it. The mention about going to more empty sets and why now makes Canales' tendency to go five wide after a 1st down run that went for a first down. I'd get frustrated seeing the run game work only to move away from it, but now that I know it was part of trying to rebuild his confidence and catering scheme to the players (I know folks aren't used to this, but Canales and Evero have both shown early on that they won't force their scheme if the players accel in other ways). Moving away from heavier sets and giving Bryce more options takes advantage of his much praised processing ability. Giving Jonathon Mingo an extra 1.5sec in his route wasn't exactly going to get him any more open. Now, after the recent SI video, it sounds like coach and QB have found a happy medium to the point of Bryce leading meetings to teach concepts (and let his teammates know his preferences and tendencies based on what he sees). There's still going to be growing pains, especially on the recently patched together defense, but there's finally some competence it seems in the locker room.
  21. I see this type of sentiment often, especially in regards to Bryce. But for the life of me, I cannot find anywhere that lists the expected statistical performances for each draft pick to be considered "worth it." I can find trade values, I can find contract values, and I can even find data that shows the chances of success for different positions taken at different times during the draft. But I cannot find anything that states what a player should put up at the very least to be considered worth the selection. Which also begs the question... if a player was traded up for, does the value of those picks given and the supposed statistical baseline added to where they were drafted? For example, if Chicago had drafted Bryce and his career arc was identical without trading the pick away, is there now a lower baseline for him to have to hit? Does Bryce have to do more than Cam because Cam wasn't traded up for? I'm sure folks can point at recent stat lines and say "Better than that!" but when I've had this same convo in the past it turns into less stable fans getting nasty when they realize that there isn't really a statistical baseline that they're pounding the table for.
  22. I genuinely don't understand why people want a different/better backup than Dalton. Nick Foles was a once in a blue moon thing to happen, 99.99% of the time, if your starting QB goes down, you're not winning the SB. With where this team is at, if Bryce goes down at any point in the season, we'd be better off losing from then on anyways, no matter how the season is going. If we're having a rough season before a Bryce injury, it means he probably wasn't playing great and losing for a higher draft pick to replace Bryce would be best. If we're having a good season before a Bryce injury, it means he's probably playing well and showing he could/should still be our QB of the future. Which again, at that point losing is probably best as you're not going to be a contender with any backup QB. So get a higher draft pick for a better player to help fill the remaining holes in the roster for 2026 when a healthy Bryce then can make us a true contender. THAT is also then where you go and get a better backup, when you have a chance at being a true contender, so if you need a backup to come in for a game or two, they're good enough to help keep you afloat while waiting for your starter to get healthy again. But with where this franchise is at right now, riding or dying with Bryce is the way to go, the best possible backup for him is a vet exactly like Dalton to help him with the off field stuff, not to be a great option if the starter goes down.
