  1. Past hour
  2. Equal parts bad and unrealistic draft... Going beyond how much I don't like Sadiq, Logan Jones in the 2nd is a stupid reach, Jacas likely doesn't make it to the 3rd round, and Abney definitely doesn't make it to the 4th round.
  3. i would love this pic. absolutely. this is the only position of need we haven't signed a big name in
  4. The chances are that start games. We had different starters almost every week on the OL last year
  5. Said he was just horrible in the playoff game vs Chicago. And yeah, down the whole year. But was excellent maybe 2023. We have to hope for that guy to suit up. and yeah I am for sure on draft OT. Depth is non existent.
  6. I guess Iook at things on offense and say “if you really want to upgrade the offense QB is the spot that needs it”. As far as certain positions, that is why QB was listed in my ‘approved’ offensive positions, the ones I could see some justification for passing over a down lineman for the defense, or two or three other needs. Upgrading with a subpar QB who requires limitations put on the offense, is just a very inefficient way to do it. I wonder what McMillan’s stats are with a top 12-15 QB, or would have been, as an example. This is my bias, but I don’t feel like you are going to get the most out of a Sadiq if you take him at 19. If you are going offense, Bryce doesn’t affect non skill positions the same way so take those guys first. Especially after the gorging on receivers.. 2022 2nd, 2023 2nd, 2024 late 1st, 2025 top ten 1st. 4 years straight. 2023 DJ Johnson 3rd 2024 Wallace 3rd 2025 Scourton 2nd, Princely 3rd. Three years of drafts. Give the defense a couple of 1sts. Guys that will be the next Phillips and Lloyd when their contracts come up again.
  7. He took a step back in '25, but his '24 numbers look really good. We still need a OT in the draft.
  8. I am thinking we draft a developmental swing T later than round 1 now. I get the feeling that if we draft a T, and we will, it will be Moton's successor, not Ickey's. A developmental guy maybe? (World, Shelton, etc). It is important that we do not appear to have given up on Ickey and they think it is too early to tell. Drafting a LT is a 4-year commitment.
  9. It would be tough to draft a non starter in round 1, but the benefit down the road would be nice...
  10. Today
  11. I will give you this: the signings of Phillips and Lloyd pretty much mirror the signings of the guards in 2024. So they are kind of a wash. But you look at the draft picks invested it is lopsided towards the offense. And when you do that make sure to count every pick that was used for our franchise QB. And DJ Moore needs to count as something too. You add that haul in with the picks we had left that went for offense, the defense is still the red headed stepchild and deserves some day one attention. edit: due to the OL crisis that we are just starting to go through, if the right left tackle falls I think you have to bite the bullet and do your duty, but we may be able to address it as a right tackle issue on day two. If we do not address either tackle position at all it will be dereliction of duty. IMO.
  12. Didn't know where to post this but it is panthers relevant since eventually we'll have a couple wr in Coker and tmac that will get paid. Jaxon Smith-njigba just signed a 4 year $168.6 million contract extension that now makes him the highest paid wr in nfl history. For now
  13. Would be happy with Lomu or Iheanachor at 19. Fano is intriguing but I don't think he makes it.
  14. II see it this way: We have to look at long-term needs and current depth. We have filled some key spots with players on one-year contracts. I firmly believe that they intend to pay Bryce some big bucks next year. That means you cannot hope that your rookies in 2027 can fill the spots vacated by the veterans you could not afford to re-sign. We need to consider the cap and the fact that the need to start a rookie is not viewed as a positive by coaches and general managers, but they value first contracts--so it is a delicate balance. I think they have to look at the cap by position--"Can we afford a $50m QB and a $100m OL? That is half the cap, before you pay your WRs and RBs and TEs. They need to start getting younger on the OL as well. I am not suggesting that we draft OT in round 1, but we could and I would get it. RT on a 1-year deal, they may have intel about Ickey (who was not the best LT, to be honest) and 32-year old Moton is on a bad wheel. Now if you go by Morgan's history, you can almost tell what position we are going to address with the first pick by noting the positions he has not focused on in free agency. DT, considering the lack of performance by those not named Derrick Brown and the loss of Robinson, is screaming to be addressed with a top player. Wharton is not an early down DT (DE if you want to get technical) and our LBs need to be clean--they were not in 2025. Look for a DT early. I also think we will address ILB (pass covering Will) on day 2. The other day 2 pick will be an OT, in my view. Do not rule out CB. We are thin there too, and Jackson is in his final year. I am not sure that we love Smith-Wade. Some crackhead on here talked about moving him to S----stay tuned. Hopefully, a team wanting Ty Simpson will move up and offer us a pick or two to move back. DT WILB OT OC QB (you heard it here 337th--but this pick could come sooner than you think.
  15. Bryce had some bad games, but he had some good ones as well (and this is coming from a Bryce skeptic). I think it's a little simplistic to put all the offensive woes on Bryce, you also should be looking at O-line play, receiver play, RB and TE play, and also coaching. There's no way when I look at the offense in it's totality am I ready to say that a so-so to bad offense was all on Bryce, and, I also can't say that we don't need to upgrade any position on offense, save Tetairoa McMillan (who also wasn't perfect) and maybe the starting guards and T-mo.
  16. if Sadiq is on the board then the OTs probably aren’t so it’s potentially an irrelevant discussion Mauigoa, Freeling, Fano (who has real length concerns). Mike Renner has said he’s had multiple NFL people tell him Kadyn Proctor is going way higher than people think he is. (Btw why don’t we get more tidbits like this posted here anymore? Juan you’re slacking) at what point does TE1 instant contributor outshine OT4/5/6 redshirt season for you? The team obviously isn’t worried that drafting a TE is going to make Bryce look good and all their dumb Huddle opinions look bad (like people here, if the point wasn’t clear enough) so that’s a more pertinent discussion point. I do see the value of taking a redshirt OT-but it’s not going to outpace the value of taking a TE1 plug and play impact starter, especially at a position that has proven tough to pin down.
  17. I'm not against grabbing a right tackle but I think the tight end helps elevate the offense more this season if you're trying to make a run for a championship specifically Sadiq. He adds a matchup nightmare component we don't have we have only one full-time offensive player that runs a 4-3 and that's legit then he shouldn't be around much longer to have that type of player at tight end is huge
  18. Offense is bad do to poor QB play, they not drafting a QB this year(Bama QB will be there for the taking) but is a top target next year in a better QB draft unless BY9 take some huge steps
  19. The emphasis on the age and stage of career these FA players are in is becoming pretty clearly a policy. I don’t remember us making that a core value, until Morgan.
  20. I enjoyed this, from a Packers perspective. I think people are getting out over their skis on the enthusiasm over what we actually will get. I mean, it was a great move that we needed to make, but I see people talking about no falloff, there are high expectations. This guy isn’t sugar coating, but it isn’t necessarily all bad either. On the level of Walker’s play, he takes the view that it has fallen off, but has played very well before. I guess it epends on which one shows up, and I am hoping the old ‘change of scenery’ benefit could be in play.
  21. Tarheels haven't been relative in the last 10 years
  22. TE in the first is a luxury pick. Something we most certainly are not in a place to do. Keep building the defense
  23. I would be less skeptical of drafting Sadiq in the first if he was a Gronk, Witten, Warren type or a prolific pass catcher. Combine isnt enough to rate him over the trenches for me.
