  2. This. He’s a new(er) coach and he’s got the worst QB in the league to work with. We have far less of a coaching problem than we do QB problem.
  3. Here is my take on why I can't pick good QBs in the draft--it is all about the timing, supporting cast, and system. If we bring in "damaged goods" like Howell or Levis, for example, give him a running game. IMO, we are solid at RB (assuming Brooks and Entienne step up). Not sure about these guys, but Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, Jared Goff, Daniel Jones (I wanted us to go after him, fwiw), and Sam Darnold. If you think about it, that means that 15.6% of the starting QBs in the league are former "busts." We could find the right player and draft a player and we'd be better off than we are now. I think we need the following: a #2 WR. I think TMac is solid and Coker is a great slot. XL can be a situational WR creating a tough coverage matchup (S or nickel), and Horn does what he does. a playmaking, elite TE. Not only does it give the D another threat. We also need to break ties with at least one of our overpaid guards. Frankly, #74, Curhan (27), needs a contract for 2026, but a deal in the $4m range is a lot better than Hunt's $100m for 4 contract. He is 27 and has shown to be a solid RG. C Mays (26) needs a team-friendly, long-term deal at C, but he needs competition. He makes about $3m per season--I would say double it for 3 years--something in the $18-$21m range. The $$$ they were going to spend on young should go to our LT, Ickey. So this is a rough plan to improve the offense and locking down players at TE, WR, OL, and RB for the next few years. We need an Alpha. Remember the '85 Bears? McMahon was not that good--he had a good defense, great RB, good WRs, a stud OL....and he was an Alpha. Baker is an Alpha. We did not have the parts around him. He sucked and is not succeeding with better support. Canales knows this--saw it first hand.
  4. Tremble is supposed to take Brown along the goal line. https://x.com/coach_yac/status/1993356695016493333?s=46&t=W75E23VenL1ei42iX22E5g Brown himself said “they didn’t threaten the flats” so he was able to jump it
  5. Yes. Good point on the timid I didn't focus on it as Canales should know by now Young goes into his shell ill tell you honestly, i saw how young looked in the tunnel coming out with the team without his helmet on he looked scared shitless he played scared shitless one podcaster looking at the all 22 film said Young was thoroughly confused by Salah’s use of Mustafa and basically became paralyzed .. similar to what happened in 2023 with Bates in Atlanta Salah as DC greater than Canales as Oc
  6. I think Canales knows what identity he wants for the team (I think), it's just that he is hamstrung by Bryce. He won't make the tough decision to ditch Bryce, likely due to higher-ups. Bryce has been on thin ice in my damned mind for two years. Every season, the question of axing him by the trade deadline looms large (again, in my mind). There is absolutely no way we should've come into this season without a plan B (and I'm not talking the Red Rifle). Canales should've been banging the table for a plan B. I mean, it's just his job on the line.
  7. People will still blame Dave Canales knowing we have the worst QB in the league.
  8. I loved Cam Newton the Carolina Panther. He is my Carolina GOAT w/ Luke. In fact, I loved the version that was the most heavily criticized version of him. The dude that pouted. Towel on the head. That hated to lose. I always thought all that was actually a great thing for us. We needed that injected into the franchise. Cam for me sort of is like Jake Delhomme. The versions at the end were very much different than the versions at the start. I got little interest in the Cam Newton of today trying to make as online/TV personality. I don't care for that guy.
  9. Haven't you heard? UNC is the 33rd NFL team nowadays.
  10. Trading McCaffrey did nothing to help the Panthers get better. Not only is he a great player, but he was a leader in the locker room and a great fan favorite. Of course the Panthers squandered the draft picks. I would add DJ Moore to the list as well. What a stupid decision to trade him. There has been so little talent on this team over the past five years that letting their best players go always seemed stupid to me. I would add Burns to that list as well. Getting a 2nd for Burns did not make the Panthers better because they still have to replace him. Losing Luvu and getting outbid for him was stupid too. Not keeping Reddick, and Chinn were also mistakes. They’ve had some good players over the past five years, but they’ve just let them go
  11. Honestly, it's supremely American. Hand picked employee loved by the owner getting every opportunity while the other employees struggle to make up for his mistakes? Sounds right.
  12. We have a Bryce Young problem and until it's resolved it's extremely hard to judge our coaching in any significant way. Canales has made mistakes, as any coach will, but he's also called plays that with even moderately average QB play would result in positive outcomes. Canales' biggest "mistake" is trusting Bryce at all, but then, maybe he's just ensuring he has a new QB to work with next year. We aren't the only team where players run the wrong routes, we just are one of a couple with a bottom 30 QB.
  13. I thought that too Ie trying to prove ‘look, he cant do it under the lights on the big stage’ honestly, im Not sure he is that bright then again, how many coaches and offenses have to fail to prop up young before this ends i blame both canales and young for that defensive carnage Monday night Both of them …and ill say too, if part of the problem is after 12 games into the season, the receivers are still too deep in their routes then either new receivers are needed Or new coaching or the routes are failures or the qb or all 4 they have had preseason, mini camps, training camp, practice and the season their coach was a receivers coach and now the OC and they still cant consistently complete a pass not a good look he has business being the OC and HC he isnt McVay and he isnt Reid
  14. That would’ve been even funnier and really summed up the night given it would’ve been an illegal forward pass. Bryce is clearly throwing the ball forward to Chuba
  15. Can’t disagree. Anointed. Hated it then, would hate it again. Entitlement type of crap and honestly it is unAmerican lol. There is a lot gained when you and others know you have earned your way. Respect from self and from from coworkers comes with that.
  16. Sorry. Wrong route or not, that int is on Bryce 100%. He had a ride open run to the end zone. Elite processing says follow your blocker to the corner for an easy walk in TD. Situational awareness.
  17. Him and Morgan get praise when earned but excused when they earn blame. At least he isn't Rhule or an already mentally retired Reich I guess
  18. I guarantee that was part of the pitch when they drafted him. Guaranteed starter from day 1 his entire rookie contract. Judging by the QB room and how they've played it so far, they're holding up their end of the bargain.
  19. Pretty much this. Love Cam but he needs to take a look in the mirror and realize he's becoming what he despised as a player.
  20. I thought I saw Chuba pause slightly, as if he was going to throw to Sanders, but maybe the DBs already had the play diagnosed and blew it up.
  21. I just can't pin it on DC. The guy is constantly walking on eggshells due to Bryce's inconsistencies and timid nature. He had WR's open and Bryce didn't hit them. He asked his first overall pick to take on the spotlight and he didn't. Yes we should have ran Rico. But Bryce could have ran that first TD in. T Mac open on that crosser but Bryce hesitated. I think DC is asking Bryce to show us who he is, and is paying the consequences until A. Bryce gets his poo together, B. Bryce flames out and we get another QB. Biggest mistake imo was going for 2pt in the 3rd qtr. That hurt our momentum. Just take the FG and see how it plays out. Or if you're going to do it all, give Rico a chance.
  22. Two trivial things about Canales that drives me nuts 1. His use of nicknames for grown ass men ‘t mo. D mo.’ And on and on 2. His freaking word salad with things like ‘come alive’ as if they ate some offensive juggernaut And example below ‘Offensively, just could not get our rhythm going. And really it just started off with the run game. I have to make sure that that comes alive’ Dave, here’s a phrase for your offense DOA
  23. Exactly, to the point that this dude is answering everyone's posts individually and questioning Cam Newton as a player over it. This schmuck even said if Kasay could've ran down the field and stopped the ball from going out of bounds he would have. People continuing to show Cam and that fumble gif after he drug the team to a championship appearance in a MVP season, with Mike Shula as his OC, and MIke Remmers as his starting OT is proof of how much people dislike him for non football reasons! And that's the triple truth Ruth!
  24. I gotta be honest, this feels like more than just bad coaching. This feels like proving a point. I'm really beginning to wonder if the only way to get Bryce off this team is to prove he can't step up when it matters. No coach can really be this stupid can they? I've said for a long time there appears to be some sort of mandate from higher up that is forcing Bryce into the starting role and keeping him there regardless of what any metric or eye test says. Now whether that's Morgan or Tepper at this point, this feels like Canales may be trying to prove that Atlanta is the anomaly, Bryce isn't the guy, and he needs a new QB, and the only way to show that is to get humiliated on prime time, since the only thing Tepper seems to respond to is national embarrassment. Of course, I could be 4d chessing this thing way too much, and if I am, maybe I should be the next HC for 50m bucks. If I'm wrong and Canales really is this stupid, lawd help us all.
  25. He owes it to his best offensive player to sit down and have the conversation. Listen man, I got caught up in the game and I thought I saw opportunities there and I fuged up. I'm sorry. I should've fed you the ball.
  26. Coaching and a massive lack of execution which falls on Canales. Monday nights loss was 100% on him. Dave Canales continues to put this team at a disadvantage week in and out with personnel decisions. So far we’ve seen him go with Corbett over Mays. Killed Rico’s momentum by having him split carries with Chuba. Went back to not taking advantage of using TMac in the slot last night after doing so last week (only 5/29 routes ran last night were from the slot). Only lets Bryce get comfortable in gun and spread when the score dictates it. Taking a point off the board to go for 2 and call a passing play. Concedes the opening drive after a penalty. We need a weekly Zavala injury to happen for Dave to give Curhan who is the much better guard, playing time. As far as execution goes the all-22 is gross. Sooooo many examples of guys doing the wrong thing and blowing up plays and this again falls on Dave Play 1: https://x.com/tacostweets/status/1993313315607449693?s=46&t=W75E23VenL1ei42iX22E5g The interception in the end zone. This is on Tremble. Tremble is supposed to run along the goal line and take Brown with him. Instead he runs towards back pylon allowing defender to make a play on the ball. Canales mentioned someone running the wrong route during his post game presser. That person would be Tremble. Play 2: https://x.com/tacostweets/status/1993348090447773888?s=46&t=W75E23VenL1ei42iX22E5g Play 3: https://x.com/rickyboboddy/status/1993367670369272068?s=46&t=W75E23VenL1ei42iX22E5g Play 4: https://x.com/rickyboboddy/status/1993356332674552137?s=46&t=W75E23VenL1ei42iX22E5g Sanders decides he doesn’t feel like blocking on this swing pass to Chuba which should’ve been a touchdown. Add in a couple of drops. A terrible missed DPI call and this game was a complete disaster. The highs and lows are in large due to Canales. This guy hits the nail on the head I’m guessing Dave overcompensates this week and comes out running the ball no matter what while the Rams are putting up 7’s on us real quick. Should be fun…
