  1. Past hour
  2. I feel all lower paced sports will struggle going forward w/ eyeballs. I mean, America's pasttime might do a good job of ripping off the youth/parents with forever baseball and 58 little league world series each year you can play in......but MLB is a tough watch vs other sports. Golf the same. We are grooming humans to need constant action thanks to the magically internet. Hard to watch a game where the "action" and excitement might be a moment once an hour.
  3. I will say this, this was very barstool like from a league that prides itself on being classical.
  4. Right. This seems like such a very basic common sense stance and especially one from fans of the franchise with the worst win percentage in professional sports the last several years. We can agree we are obviously rooting for Horn and Tremble to take the next step because that's good for our franchise. At the same time there's no point in patting one another on the back and doing victory laps yet because maybe that actually ended up being a good draft. It just boils down to people like Icege continually needing to exert their perceived fan superiority over others because they only ever approach their POV from a glass half full mentality. You know hey more power to you. But the shtick is exhausting and played out.
  5. I am NOT looking forward to Bryce's deal because you know between now and then the money with guarantees are going to get even more ludicrous.
  6. Their viewership numbers are falling off. Young folks not embracing the game or their overpriced country club style sport, so they have to resort to this to get eyes. We may suck, but at least people care. Ha.
  7. sometimes you got to take a step back and really appreciate how uniquely horrific and uncompetitive the Tepper Panthers have been........and fully appreciate how it expands beyond the NFL. We are a team/org all of sports recognize as the definition of bad (I assume we still hold the title of worst win % in all of pro sports in the Tepper era).
  8. Everything in Charlotte including the city itself was catching strays this weekend from the golf world.
  9. Gotta have thick skin to be a Panthers fan. The man that helped throw gasoline on this dumpster fire should have the thickest skin, but doesn't.
  10. we were really competitive after Bryce came back. we were a legit threat to the best teams in the league. if you don't believe it, you didn't watch them play against the eagles, chiefs, bucs (at home), and the cardinals (who we kept out of the playoffs). the chiefs left here depressed after winning and the eagles were upset after we left there. both teams were beat up and acted almost like they lost, which they were just lucky they didn't. i think we've got it sorted out now. the run defense is going to be much better. passing defense will be improved as well. i mean the last several games we were really getting after the QB and causing them headaches. neither of the two QBs in the superbowl could get much done against us because we didn't give them any time. the first 7 games we had 7 sacks. the remainder of the season we had 25 sacks. we went from 1 sack per game to 2.5 sacks per game and i think we do better this year. the run defense will see the biggest boost, though. Getting DB back, and adding Bobbie Brown, Wharton, and Cam Jackson to the front will be a huge thing. and then adding Moehrig and Ransom at safety will be huge for us in controlling the run game as well. both sides of the ball we should see a significant uptick in performance, especially defense. things are simply just lining up right. we lost close games that this coming year we will win. they got it figured out and they brought in the personnel we need to get it done.
  11. It's funny. Would probably be funnier if I wasn't a Panthers fan. A little bit of bad form, coming into Charlotte and ripping the local team, but whatevs, fam.
  12. Hey little buddy, that's covered in the post above your's but seeing as how it literally took you days to figure out what a Big-Time Throw was... let me give you a hand: League-wide, the average draft hits on about 30 - 40% of its picks when teams have a standard seven selections. So if you walk away with 3 - 4 real contributors... that's considered a solid class. Hitting on 4 out of 11 is right in that range.
  13. For the playoffs i think you could do a best of five for round one if they expand the playoffs by two teams and give the top two seeds a bye.... But a best of 7 is hockey gold they won't be changing that for the latter series trust me. I will say I absolutely hate this divisional format they've had the last 8 years..... Half the best teams got knocked out every year in the second round because they are playing the second best conference team in round 2.
  14. Go look at a larger window for each team. Losing leaves a major, major lingering stink. And Kansas City had a massively large losing streak between Len Dawson and Alex Smith. We're talking decades. Losing franchises often have issues that are sooo much deeper than just the draft that it would take a miracle pick like Peyton Manning or Elway or (I hate saying this) Brady to pull them out of their muck and mire they were lodged in. "Tanking" often just gives bad management, team building and coaching a pass for a season, maybe two. Just look to the Jaguars or Cardinals for examples. I'd say the Browns, but they built their own selves one of the most remarkable karma loops in NFL history with the Watson trade after a decade of tanking.
  15. Nope Tuesday at 8pm.... A huge advantage for the Canes IMO we had a week off whereas Florida will be flying from Toronto to Raleigh today without going back to Miami. Ive watched the Panthers this playoffs and they are not in the same form they were the past two years, Thatchuk is banged up and not effective, Bob hasn't been god mode. Interestingly enough they are trying to reach a third strait finals..... somthing that hasn't been done in the last 50 years.... there is a reason for it that is A LOT OF EXTRA HOCKEY.
  16. Ive thought about a different format for regular season. A team plays every team in their conference 3 times, kinda like a mini series. That takes us up to 45 games since 15 other teams times 3 is 45 (I think the math checks out, I just woke up). Then they can play every team in the opposite conference. That will bring the total to 61. Then every year they can switch up at home or away games for the 16 games they play against the opposite conference depending on what it was the previous year. For playoffs, Ive always been in favor of best of 5. I think this would greatly help popularity too since length of season is just about always the #1 issue when I try to get others to watch.
  17. Oh shiiiiiiit. I stg i read somewhere the ECF starts Wednesday and the WCF starts tomorrow.
  18. They did lose it to another great team, though. I think he's a good to really QB and he handles the system they give him very, very well. When he has his weapons on the field, the team is one of the best in the league. Without them, well, they still outperformed us. I think we'll see him and them in the playoffs regularly over the next five years, maybe another run for the trophy. If so, money well spent. If not, they're no worse off than say Dallas or Atlanta, Cleveland or New York (take your pick).
  19. Phillys line graded out 9th in run blocking.... the Panthers 10th and the grades were essentially no different.
  20. This is a bad take dude..... Fitzpatrick was far far more turnover prone if anything hes a less turnover prone Fitzpatrick
  21. Oh, I just don't care enough to bash the man. Easy to hate. I choose otherwise.
  22. I mean if your already eliminated in season yeah id rather have better picks than feel good wins, but 3 months prior to the start of the season with the hope of actually being a watchable product on the horizon f*ck that noise.
