  1. Past hour
  2. When we were talking about trading Bryce last year (dammit) I looked it up, and of course don’t remember for sure. I just looked it up again. I found that any signing bonus paid that was pro rated over the length of the contract comes due immediately. All guaranteed money comes due also.
  3. You mean, no more recipes for squirrel jerky or racoon kabobs? Nooooooooooo!!! Dude has been nothing but a sideshow since he's been here. I'm cool sending him packing for the right price. Maybe he has a Ted Ginn Junior path where he clearly he's not lived up to the early hype and could figure it out later in his career. We don't have the time for that kind of patience with him.
  4. Haven't seen this posted yet so.... My predictions(4-6 so far after an 0-4 Divisional) New England 17, Denver 13 Closer than anticipated as Jared Sitdham proves to be a much more adept playoff QB than CJ Stroud. Ugly, defensive game. St. Louis 31, Seattle 24 Sam Darnold doesn't catch lightning in a bottle again and provides at least 2 TO's(has 6 total versus them this season) to the Rams which proves to be the difference as Seattle's potent rushing offense(153 YPC vs Rams in 2025) isn't utilized enough to keep Stafford at bay.
  5. Not only was I all of those, • “I’m absolutely gobsmacked.” • “Well I’ll be bamboozled.” • “I’m completely dumbfounded.” • “That’s left me thunderstruck.” • “I’m all kinds of discombobulated.” • “I’m utterly flummoxed.” • “I’m staggered beyond belief.” • “I don’t know whether to laugh or blink.” • “My mind is officially blown to smithereens.” • “I’m shooketh to my very core.” • “I’ve been rendered speechless… temporarily.”
  6. If it takes him that sams timeline to pan out, it would be when he is 27 years old and we are having to pay him a 2nd contract. I am good on that. Let him go figure it out somewhere else as a 4th or 5th WR.
  7. We've got too many needs to being taking a C high anyway. A day 3 guy should suffice if we retain Corbett or bring in another mid-tier FA C.
  8. Sadly, not a good center draft. Once again, in typical Panthers fashion. we passed on good center drafts to be in a panic on a weak one. I am also going to say that don't be surprised to see some insane, illogical move like we made with Corbett and sign/draft some guy that has very little center experience and attempt to make him a center.
  9. Well, it's an accounting rule that everyone understands. Bonus money can be pro-rated so that it isn't a one year cap nuking event. Also provides the ability to get out in future years with way more miminal cap implications that trying to unwind from a ton of guaranteed money spread out in the same manner.
  10. Mayes can be replaced. He's played well, but hardy an All-Pro type. I'd rather not overpay him.
  11. Would rather keep him. We're going to lose stability on the line at this point. I'm assuming this means Corbett is safe?
  12. Sadiq is basically Kyle Pitts, hard no! This is coming from a guy who wants a TE badly, but he's not the guy and this ain't the year.
  13. You can count on one hand the times we drafted a true center, not OL that's had snaps there or a G/C type. Garcia, Hangartner and Kahlil all worked out well for us, especially Ryan. I've been mocking a C to us for several years now.
  14. Right I've made fun of other teams doing it too much to be hypocritical about it ha
  15. Right..and for speed wr too I'd rather bring in a vet to help immediately than wait and see on a rookie
  16. Today
  17. McCarthy seems to get you exactly what McDermott would give you, a guy who's pretty solid but has missed some golden opportunities to go to super bowls. He does have one though, with arguably one of rogers weakest seasons.
  18. Historically, good centers can be had in round 3 and later. It's not usually a position that a 1st or 2nd round pick has to be spent to draft an effective player. That said, we do usually reserve those 3rd and later picks to draft slow linebackers, incapable tight ends, and secondary with coverage concerns.
  19. This is what I like today. Want to place a larger bet on the interceptions at +210
  20. I like elliss off that list. He was always making plays
  21. Five years is nothing for the Steelers. They've had three coaches since 1969.
  22. Yeah, this is where we get a bit younger on the O-line. I think, though, if there is a great ILB prospect still there in the draft, we grab him and don't look back. Second round take the best center on the board.
  23. Very illuminating rebuttal. Thank you for gracing us with your insights.
  24. I think age is overblown at times because McCarthy could coach another 5+ years. That would put him at the same age as Andy Reid, who could coach another handful of years if he wants to. As long as they remain sharp and committed to the daily grind, then age shouldn’t be an issue. I also think that they can still be patient with the QB situation at McCarthy’s age. Let’s say they start a veteran and draft someone to develop over the next 1-2 years, that would put at McCarthy 63/64, so he could still coach another handful of seasons with that young QB. Ok, one could argue that a young HC and QB could be paired together for their entire NFL careers, but such pairings are rare in the NFL as most HCs don’t last beyond five years. Most QBs go through a number of HCs during their careers. What is important for a young QB is having the right HC to set on them on the right path and McCarthy is as good an option as others.
  25. Do they even know if the cranky old man is going to bless them with another season? He usually doesn't decide until after the summer solstice and he has had opportunity to dwell in darkness and contemplate things over some psychedelic substances.
