I’ve never said stats don’t matter.
-
This does not make sense because some worse qbs are no longer in the NFL and there are new starting qbs that are not as good as Bryce. How is he 32/32 when Cam Ward and Mccarthy are clearly worse?
-
BYU vs GT looks like it'd be a good game in general. Looking forward to that (plus the pop tart shenanigans)

What’s fantastic about 57.6 comp pct, 11 td, 15 ints, 67.5 passer rating?
-
Trevor Lawerence is not having a better year. Also, you got the wrong color for Lawerence’s int%. You also marked green for total TO/PG when it was tied.

At this point more threads are just creating more spats. We've got 4 more days until we get answers. Just wait it out and then resume.

Philp Rivers is returning? (how did I miss that news?)

Dark times mess with your head.

U Has a whole thread about why I don't go by stats but apparently it was deleted. Don't know why. As to the "other guy" he only said he's watched all the games and you didn't believe him. You now state that you "took a look at this across a WIDE variety of overall metrics and statistical groups that should give an idea about overall play and some potential aggravating factors associated with their play". That's a lot broader claim than he made. Should i believe you? That might sound snarky, but that's pretty much how you dismissed his argument, so hey... And yes, I've made counter arguments. You don't accept them as valid. I don't accept your stat based argument either, but I've made an effort to explain why beyond just saying "well you're wrong because...stats". Bottom Line: You still believe Murray will be valued and starting somewhere next year. I have my doubts, but even if he does get another shot that doesn't guarantee he's gonna be any better. I'm comfortable waiting and seeing. Will he be better than Bryce? Don't think so, but admittedly unless he's a Panther, won't really care either. I definitely care about Bryce, but I'm not a whole lot more optimistic on that front than I am about Murray.

The notion that we have inferior weapons has been disproven multiple times this season. We have a young and raw group but they are no doubt talented. I like their potential. The Saints before beating us in BOA had one win on the season. We do not have an inferior roster to them. There is absolutely no excuse to lose to that team.

Joe Burrow (not sure I've ever heard an NFL player talk like this)
CRA replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You almost need guys to have their brains oddly wired in a bad way…..for them to make boatloads of cash and not walk away when the injury bug starts knocking hard. I mean Luck and Luke had one thing in common. They are very smart humans. Probably too smart for the NFL. -
Not trying to be argumentative but I'm not sure what else Bryce could have done in the Rams game to have been better. He completed 75% of his passes, threw for 3 TD's, was 46% on 3rd down conversions, averaged a little over 8 yards a pass and had a 147 passer rating. I mean he can only work with what he is given and I thought he did well with those 20 possesions. And I'm not sure those 4th down plays were called because the offense wasn't working. Like I pointed out above, they were converting over 46% on 3rd downs and they only punted 3 times on 8 positions. I would guess those 4th downs were because Canales knew they couldn't beat the Rams without the extra possessions.

The hits add up. I know he lobbied for Higgins but the Bengals really needed to let Higgins walk or trade him. With Burrow making franchise QB money and two elite paid WRs they're really hamstrung and their OL has been trash his entire career. They needed to sit him down and lay it out to him that they couldn't pay Higgins and here's the plan going forward to put an OL in front of you.

Whoa. Michigan's head coach just got detained by police after being let go by the school for inappropriate relations with a woman (or ... girl?). RUMOR says he broke into her home and threatened to kill himself.

I can't imagine two ILB's going in the top eight. Has that ever happened? I think Reese could go no. 1 considering the dude can play on the edge too and looks great. OSU v. IU was the first time i watched him this year.

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)
Bear Hands replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I'll concede some about the Rams game-- it's relative to a few degrees. To what we've been accustomed to with Bryce, historically at the QB position w/the franchise, and recent play around the league. Where he's been consistent with are 2 particular instances - crossers (mainly to Coker at the Y) and extended routes where he's been able to roll out and step up to hit McMillan (twice on a post, once on a go). He can also have some good vision with enough time in the seams, but its still limiting with his height. He still hasn't shown much touch in the pocket for my liking. For example, when he's hitting guys outside against zone (I don't think he'll ever be that great in this regard) his balls are just so flat. Which is why I don't fly with the Brees comparisons. His balls in the pocket from 3 or 5 step are always kind of these duds, don't have the zip you want, don't get there quick enough to have a guy work in space. Brees could chip away against teams playing zone with good zip in the short outside game, only to skirt around eventually to find a guy deep. Bryce can do half of that, but his short/intermediate game is still pretty limited. Will be interested to see how it progresses. -
