  1. Past hour
  2. Well, it seems a little confusing, but I guess not: I guess they're thinking that we're going to the way that our receivers go. Barnwell just ranked us 31 at the (so-called) offensive skill positions. ESPN just doesn't think that much of the Panthers. I wonder if it was the O-line that bumped us up one spot, because they obviously don't think that much of our safety position, or our pass-rush. In any event, there should be ample enough bulletin board material here for the team.
  3. He took the Browns to the playoffs, and won. The issues with Baker were overstated in Cleveland, as they were at OU. If Shadeur Sanders was not the son of Deion, he would've been taken by at least the second round. His stats given the absurdly awful complementary run game in that offense were great. He will be great, if he gets the chance. My theory on Shadeur is that coaches shy'd away from him knowing that Deion would be lurking in the background should they fail. He hasn't turned down the potential of a NFL gig.
  4. He really seemed destined for the Pats or Steelers with his six fingers and all.
  5. Really bad defenses actually present opportunity for offenses to overperform statistically. which IMO is a red flag/concern about last year. We had a historically bad defense.....and really didn't generate much O
  6. I hope everyone is peeing clear. Maybe not Spartanburg hot, but it’s hot out there
  7. Now that I’ve watched a few SL games…Kon looks like a nice piece…especially considering he will get many more open shots in a true starting lineup. He is smart with the ball to. I think Melo gets traded at some point this season. Probably Miles too. Get more draft capital and build it right.
  8. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 1h The #Panthers are set to work out a handful of players today ahead of training camp. According to a league source, former Carolina OLB Kenny Dyson and former #Seahawks TE Tyler Mabry will be among the group. Mabry was with the Seahawks during TE coach Pat McPherson's tenure, Dave Canales and Brad Idzik were all there for his first two years. UFL imports, DB Nick Whiteside and OLB Jaylon Allen, as reported by @JamesLarsenPFN , will also take part.
  9. won't be any news, but we'll get some pics. Everybody else comes in tomorrow, but they'll hit the field this week, and we'll start getting some info. And it only gets better. Something to watch...will we add another safety? I'm really high on this draft, and can't wait to see if we can get 2 or 3 players that contribute early. here's some news....talking to another edge Aaron Wilson @AaronWilson_NFL · 1h #Panthers working out J.J. Weaver today, per a league source
  10. I don’t see Xavier Woods departure as a huge weakness but understand his sentiment.
  11. Today
  12. I wouldn't say most. I think people are letting the overall weak QB class and weak top of the draft board skee their views on Ward. If he played for Bama or UGA or OSU he would've probably been considered generational. The guy has all the physical tools you want and put up insane numbers. What more do you want? The only thing he lacked as a prospect was the media hype and honestly that was largely due to the Sanders hype machine sucking it all up.
  13. Oh yeah, then there's this. Levis to miss season due to shoulder surgery. The Titans were backed into a corner. They had the #1 pick they could use on a QB, versus taking stab in a crappy FA QB market while dealing with an ineffective incumbent QB with a bum shoulder needing to be medically repaired. What choice did they really have? Most Big Boards of course had Ward the QB1, but few had him prospect #1. Position group#1 and overall#1 don't always align, even at the QB position.
  14. Sometimes the most simple answer is the best one. Anybody that follows the draft knew this was a rough class for QBs. The media tried like heck to prop up Sanders just to make it interesting. In most QB classes, Ward would not have gone #1 overall. You know that and I know that.
  15. Truly amazing insight here. LOL These draft class vs. draft class comparisons just aren't relevant. It really doesn't matter how prospects stack up vs. other draft classes. A lot of people are doing the same thing with T-Mac. Oh, he would've been the 4th or 5th best WR in this class or that class. Okay, great. We're still sitting on the clock at #8 and we have to make a pick or take a trade offer. Drafting a player from another draft class isn't an option so who cares? Everyone kinda accepted going into this draft that it was weak at the top but pretty strong in depth. Now we get to see how it plays out on the field. Plenty of draft projections prove incorrect.
  16. The trade up really put Bryce in a huge spotlight. Yeah, the Bama/SEC effect definitely played a big role too.
  17. I think there’s plenty of ways you can go about choosing the worst position group for us. LB, S, EDGE, hell even CB. For me, our biggest weakness remains depth. Plenty of reasons behind that (poor drafting, bad contracts, not a big market to attract FAs, etc.). Injuries will and do happen and for us, one big injury to any of our weaker position groups and things start looking similar to last year. The only position groups that can continue contributing while having injuries IMO are OL and RB. So both should be the only two considerations for strengths even though I understand the hope and/or projection for WRs. I tend to not use projection in “right now” rankings. But i get it.
  18. If WR is our biggest strength that will be HUGE. It basically means that T-Mac showed up as a legit #1 WR from day one and XL developed into a legit starter over the off-season. IMO, the strength of the roster is obviously OG. We have one of the best pairs of starting OGs in the league with some decent depth behind them. The biggest issue we face is that there are numerous compelling arguments to be made about our biggest weakness. LOL
  19. Plus he can still have a great season with a bad defense. It may not show up as wins but he should get plenty of drives to show how far along he has come in his development even with a bad defense.
  20. This is great news https://x.com/NBA/status/1947160357937574228?t=Axgv8Xma1Wv6aemfoFwNhA&s=19 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMW7vW1sVGe/?igsh=emRhZXIxMzFmanh4
  21. We had the 29th ranked O last year. 29th ranked offenses need defenses to flat out win games for them. and virtually ALL the investment went into that O while virtually intentionally letting the D slide.
  22. Well they do preface it by saying "there is some projection here." He is saying he believes WR will be the strength. I definitely disagree and think it will again be the OL and likely RB's but I wouldn't be so quick to say "doesn't watch the team" as much as maybe has a rosier view of the WR corps. Or maybe just doesn't have as high of an opinion of the OL as we do. It's an interesting take, to be sure. There are several here that have voiced that "WR corps is a strength" view.
  23. Offensive line is the biggest strength currently followed by RB. Obviously doesn’t watch this team
  24. This team/franchise is being constructed the right way. We are drafting smart/tough guys and things are moving in the right direction. I wonder if Ball and Miller will be able to lead, though?
  25. I mean, if you spent the farm on Bryce Young and believed in him....Ladd makes way more sense than XL and an aging out AT shouldn't prohibit you from building a future that makes sense IMO. Ladd basically gets a year of mentoring from AT (not that he needed it)....and then you don't have to overpay AT to take up space in the slot because you got nothing else proven.
