  2. Now, will they play him and break their new toy or will they rest him
  3. Doubt it would have changed anything. The opportunity to get a top player at a premium position at his age is so rare.
  4. Seahawks have 77m and are 4th, that 30m number is 19th for this season. Lmfao
  5. True and as a Clemson fan I’m really not living in present day college football like most. So I’m still getting a bigger slice of the way it was than your average college football fan. We still tuning in to watch year 4 of the of the guys that have been on the roster and watching the same kids year after year. to an extent, Clemson is as good as it gets as a college football fan. But that’s just today. Will it keep us from another natty? Probably, but we got about 3-5 more years of sorta watching college football as I like it. Would our odds of winning a natty be stronger if we just hired the top merc at RB for this year and whatnot? Sure. That was THE spot to fix. But I’ll just enjoy moaning about our longtime WR converted to RB and which freshman can grow into it as this, they way it is ride is almost over
  6. from Adam Shefter I dont think this has been posted Packers LB Micah Parsons has been dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back and he may take an epidural injection prior to Sunday’s game vs. the Lions if needed to help him play, per sources. Before trading Parsons last week, the Cowboys prescribed him a five-day plan of an anti-Inflammatory corticosteroid, a prednisone to help him recover from back tightness. They also had him on a physical therapy program. Parsons has been practicing this week and he is trying to play in Sunday’s opener vs. the Lions, though one source said it still is uncertain if he will.
  7. Yea it may not be "fair" but QBs are ultimately judged by how successful they are. Bryce definitely needs to have a winning season/playoff season within his first 4 years to be considered worth paying top dollar to and keeping for another 3 or 4 years. That's also what the entire coaching staff is gking to be held to. Not having a winning season with 4 years of Bryce/3 years of Canales simply won't be good enough, and I think Tepper would hit the reset button on everything if we arent in the playoffs or have a winning season by the end of the 2026 season. Personally I'll become a Bryce Believer if he can consistently perform well this year and we get 8 or 9 + wins, is what im looking for.
  8. Here is a trivia question….LaNorris Sellars broke a drought and was the first Gamecock quarterback to win a game in Atlanta in 48 years. Name the last Gamecock QB to win in Atlanta. here is a hint
  9. There's only 3 options for Bryce after this season. 2 of them can only happen if he elevates his play significantly. Even then it's going to be a tough decision
  10. I don't like how people say "You should feel this way." There is no specific correct way how to fan. You're just antagonizing people when you frame your statements like that. A ton of people here were super high on Bryce before the 23 season, then almost everyone thought he was trash 23 through first 2 games of 24. Now the majority sentiment has gone way up again with how Bryce finished the year. During all of these periods of time, if you ever went against the majority sentiment on Bryce , tons of people would try to browbeat you into believing you're "wrong" for believing or disbelieving in him. My current perspective on Bryce is mixed. I'm not cherry picking only his rookie year or only his last half of 2024. I'm looking at his career in it's ENTIRETY. The bottom line is this. Bryce showed significant improvement last year, but that doesn't magically erase all the shitty games he had before that. He has an overall W-L record of 6W - 22L , 60% completion percentage, 26 TDs to 19 INTs. None of that is good enough to be a franchise QB. So in reality, this 2025 is THE turning point. If he can not turn the ship around in his 3rd year in terms of Wins and Losses, his future could be very much in question. Do you think the Panthers are going to want to pay a QB 60 mil a year that has a lopsided Loss to Win column and medicore stats with 3 straight losing seasons to his name??? He's gotta perform this year for his sake and the sake of the coaching staff, IMO.
  11. I bet he was in shape just not 17 nfl game week shape. I think its a big nothing burger in the grand scheme of things
  12. Today
  13. I think there is a bit of a dead feeling because some of the players are essentially mercenaries these days. You can't really fault them for it though, as these schools raked in money hand over fist because of the success of the teams. On top of that, SMU and the Pony Express was not the only example of players being paid to play, they were just the ones that got caught, so at least it is out in the open now.
  14. The not in shape poo never makes sense to me. For 3 years you have to be in the best shape of your life and at the end of that every day you choose to work will be a choice.
  15. "There is no justification for a top overall pick to not be better than half of the other players at their position." is a fundamentally different statement than pointing out there is nuance in not simply comparing top overall pick in the draft to a previous year's top overall pick in the draft. It is not the pivot you might be seeing it as. I don't know what else to tell you on this, and I realize you are maybe getting caught up on the basic meaning of the word. I don't think there is much more to say about it really.
  16. This is what I was saying earlier. He wants to play close to home. Honestly same as AT playing in Minnesota (except he was contracted to play here). People have to let things fully unfold before they start whining. Regardless I doubt HR will have as good of a year as some think. I see him as a clutch 3rd down guy and a nice vet to mentor these young WRs.
  17. I had forgotten how shady the Patriots really were. Sheesh.
  18. Its worse because the NFL would never allow all the teams to join the NFC East or something. There's a firm divisional structure with a salary cap to make it competitive.
  19. Practice tweets/news from today (will post videos in the next cpl of posts if there are any worthwhile): K Ryan Fitzgerald now wearing #10. QB Hendon Hooker has #12. WR Dalevon Campbell has #81. RB DeeJay Dallas was in #1 but it's currently a practice-only number as he was playing the part of Jag's RB Travis Etienne on the scout team (his real number is #20). WR Jalen Coker walked out with a compression sleeve on his left leg. Later seen on the bike. LG Damien Lewis not wearing the red practice jersey anymore, should be full go for Thursday. LT Ikem Ekwonu was at practice but not dressed out as he recovers from an appendectomy. Worked out on the sideline with Jalen Coker + RB Jonathon Brooks. WRs Tetairoa McMillan, Xavier Legette, and Hunter Renfrow were all exempt from special teams practice. Likely three starters for Thursday. OT Yosh Nijman got the first looks at LT today. During the post-practice presser, Canales said that there was a lot of good energy today and that offense won the 1-on-1s which included a 40yd throw from Bryce Young to Xavier Legette early to "set the tone" (per Canales). Also stated that Icky is currently day-to-day. Commented on having a training plan for Coker this passed offseason and that he did a great job following it (though the quad issue is one he has had in the past). Renfrow's locker is between Dalton and Hooker (left) and Young (right). Sounds like they're trying to get Renfrow on the same page as the QBs in this offense to replace AT's role as that second set of "QB eyes" on the field. Icky talked about his symptoms that led to his surgery and mentioned that his dad, a physician, was who got him to go. Won't rush himself back, but hasn't ruled out playing Sunday. Renfrow said he had others, but he was either going to play for the Panthers or not at all. Said Bryce called him during the process and that when he was released the team mentioned that the Thielen trade might be coming. Got the news while picking up a trailer at his other job. Also said that Canales told him that he didn't think that he was physically ready yet but wanted him back on the practice squad. The Coker injury changed the calculus.
  20. Most things that made it good are already dead, imo. The transfer portal combined with the money makes it all a complete joke. There’s no longer any sense of school pride, at least for me. If my team does well it is in large part because they paid better guys than the next team. When I went to college, I had some basketball players living in the same apartments and they’d show up to parties sometimes. You’d see guys around and they were just normal broke college kids like you. There was comraderie and pride that these guys saw the same school you loved and wanted to be there just like you. All of that is gone. It’s pro sports now, but worse. The players aren’t there long enough to feel like you know the team. No connection, just bragging rights over who has the largest and most affluent donor base.
  21. Nothing wrong with a difference of opinion at all. I think we can both agree though that going from "there is no justification" to "there is nuance" is an abrupt pivot... enough to make anybody do a double-take.
