  1. Past hour
  2. If we don't extend him, there is no way another team would offer him more than a one year $10m prove it deal lol.
  3. He isn’t but looking at what those guys are getting paid, paying him what he’s making now wouldn’t have been terrible, they should have and still should be looking at pairing some guys with brown to form a pretty dominant d line
  4. The Bryce hate is nearly laughable. He looked like garbage the first two games, but has really, really shown improvement and growth. People who know football are taking notice. Will Bryce ever be Arron Rodgers, Farvre, Manning or any other hotshot gunslinger? No, but I think he is a smart football player who has survived a lot more than most other QB's would have after 2.5 years. So long as this injury doesn't linger I think you will see legitimate growth over the next two years, with a big leap coming next season. Reich and Brown not working together, Duce causing trouble behind the scenes. Starting WR's of Mingo and Chark. No legitimate scheme for the OL. Fitterer's general incompetence. An owner who was desperate for attention. How did Zac Wilson, Mariota, Winston, Tribuski, Rosen, Lawarence, Fields, Jones, Pickett, and Richardson fair after 2.5 years? We see what happens when the Texans have not given Stroud the support. The 2018 draft had great talent, they just needed to mature, hell we wasted two of the top three drafted that year. Outside of Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, or Drake Maye, I'm not sure I really would want any other 1st round QB drafted in the past 10 years? RELAX...... Bryce is our guy as we grow as a team. The only other option I currently see is maybe a buy low draft pick on Drew Allar if he falls to the third round or lower. Bryce is going to be extended. He won't get Prescott money which would benefit our team going forward. A mid range extension like Darnold or Baker got may be just the thing this team needs to keep growing.
  5. Even if he had just a two week window of incredible play, it would open up people eyes to what the offense would look like with a different QB than what we've been fielding for the last couple years. No one is saying White should or could be a long term solution, just a different perspective on what the offense could look like, and if it hypothetically did happen it would put major pressure on the situation that they've been half-assing
  6. Oh yes I forgot we have a severely limited playbook thanks to Bryce lol.
  7. Exactly! Linsanity was about 2 weeks also.
  8. They should have done it 10 months ago
  9. It was like 2 weeks tops. He followed it up 2 weeks later with a 0 TD / 4 INT performance.
  10. I’m seeing this from a slightly different angle. Yes, this is about the Panthers turning over the sofa cushions to find a warm body at QB, but: I see the perfect opportunity to unload Bryce and sell at the peak of his market value, whatever that is. His injury isn’t scary enough to really turn him off from a team needing a backup QB. He will likely recover from this with no major long term deficit. He has shown that games still can be won with him as long he is surrounded by high level talent. This is the prime opportunity to offload the albatross. If they can just get a late round pick and get a team to agree to pick up his contract, that will be huge. Use the next few weeks to wait for a contender to lose their starting QB (happens every year) and then make them an offer they can’t refuse. What does continuing roll with him at this point accomplish? It’s a bit like not offloading Burns early. The longer the Panthers hold on to BY, the worse the leverage they will have when the 11th hour strikes. BY is a career backup who will become increasingly more expensive as the season progresses. Why keep him around any longer than you have to? This team will win 5-6 games this season so highly unlikely that they’re looking at a top 10 pick, so he’s not really helping in that regard. Everybody can see that he has clearly reached his ceiling so a longer audition is not necessary… so why keep holding on to the dude? What if it REALLY gets weird and they find away to cobble together 7-8 wins? I know, very unlikely but they still play NO twice and have always played TB close. The defense can stop the run and the offense can run the ball. It’s the age old recipe for winning football games. Then what? Will Tepper let Dan exile his golden boy at that point, or will the final nail in the coffin be struck when he ‘suggests’ signing BY long term, since the team is winning and all? Tepp is going to be the ONLY one who signs off on shipping his golden boy. Tepp hates admitting he was wrong, but I bet he hates losing even more. The WORST thing that could happen is to see the team start winning with BY under center. I pray to God Andy comes in hot and shows how bad BY is holding everything back.
  11. My friends that are jets fans remember him fondly in the sense that he had a Linsanity type of run for a very short period of time, and they all preferred him to Zach Wilson. But he was extremely injury prone and once defenses got tape on him it ended badly.
  12. It's poo or get off the pot year for Bryce and the Franchise. They need to know by the end of the season what they intend to do with Bryce cause it will shape our offseason.
  13. Yea. He seems like he’s getting better at Punt Returns. And does provide a little change of pace when he spelled Rico briefly. Already contributing more than Mingo ever did.
  14. Sensational game by my boy Nic "hurtin' for a" Scourton
  15. I honestly think you'd genuinely want the Panthers to throw 400 yards and lose than throw for 200 yards and win. Like, everything you have posted gives me that vibe.
  16. I think we all talk ourselves into a worst case scenario with everything we’ve seen. But sometimes it’s overdone - I equate this to when people worried that we wouldn’t be able to sign any meaningful FAs or Cam to a second contract because of Jerry Richardsons pie chart drawing that insulted players or that halfway during Kelvin Benjamin’s rookie year we had people worried about how we would extend/resign him in 3 years with how much money we had tied up in the defense. Panic moves are what got us into most of this mess, no sense in doing that again.
  17. Today
  18. Threw for 405 yards at 9 Y/A, 3 td's and the two picks were on the receivers.
  19. He would need to bring other things to the table that are not easily replaced. Jalen Hurts is the example of this, but he brings you a dual threat, the unstoppable QB sneak, and leadership intangibles. So he makes up for being a lackluster passer.
  20. We are reading the tea leaves. Right now we don’t know how many games he will miss. He left after the best 6 best consecutive quarters he has played. He couldn’t have drawn it up better to get the benefit of the doubt from people that seem inclined to give it to him. As a person who never wanted him, I couldn’t draw up a worse scenario for the offseason. He gets the benefit of the doubt without earning it by showing us what we need to see as this season plays out. And if he does play they can blame any poor play on a bum ankle he is gutting through. The dominoes just line up… I guess I am clutching pearls but as I said, we have been abused. I can’t help myself. It seems like he could skate another year without giving us what we need to see from him. Maybe he will. I need to see him leave no doubt or I will have much doubt.
  21. Trading Burns for what was offered was the correct move. Two 1sts and a 2nd was a haul for a non QB. Granted Fittershits isn't who you want doing the drafting. We lost all leverage when we didn't trade him. Burns was never a game wrecker or ever took over a game like a Watts, Bosa or Parsons. It was poorly played by the FO all around.
  22. ANd you have to look at the financials--he will be in line for a $50m per contract--we can't be on the fence then. Here is the rub. For Bryce to be good, you need an elite OL, solid RB (s), and quite an investment at WR. Best to have a D that keeps the opposition under 21 points per game. Not sure we can afford a mediocre qb who is not dual threat and completes a low percentage of passes that are usually pretty short. His processing is not quick. His arm is not average. He is not an alpha.
  23. And we are only halfway through this season and have 7 months until we have to make the decision. So much will change between now and the end of the season both with the panthers and with the rest of the league.
  24. He only needs to learn run plays and Play Action all go’s
  25. They have until May 1 to claim the option, so they have to know by the end of the season
