  1. Past hour
  2. Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
  3. The trade might go down today or tomorrow then, if it happens.
  4. Yea they did. They have quite a bit of space now.
  5. Superstar receivers are only going for 3rds. I mean Pickens went for a 3rd, 5th and 6th. DK went for a 2nd, 6th and 7th. Adams was a third... Etc. Just cause Carolina fleeced Dallas and Baltimore for crappy WR doesn't mean AT is worth a 3rd all of a sudden. lol
  6. 4th I'm all in. 5th? Meh, I can take it or leave it. 3rd? I doubt that's even being considered by the Vikings, that would be highway robbery for a 35 year old possession receiver.
  7. Question is did the Vikings free up enough money to inquire Thielen?
  8. I mean you are only talking about what 6-7 total players and one is an outlier and one is just bad. It just so happens that the only two with snaps on other teams have excuses? Diontae was good at getting separation before he got here and he was still good at it in our system, Mingo was bad at it and was still bad when he went somewhere else. It’s the only data we have on these players in different systems and both show it’s not just our system causing the separation issues.
  9. Better not do it for a 5th, and I'm even on the fence about doing it for a 4th. I think we should trade Thielen since this is his last year here anyways and we have such a deep WR room right now, but I'd rather trade him for a LB or DB. If we can't get one of those, I think I'd want a 3rd. Once you get into the 4th, the value on the back end probably doesn't outweigh having him around this year for the young guys to learn from.
  10. By adding an extra pick via trade this morning, the Vikings now have added ammunition to go trade for a wide receiver. They have inquired on former Vikings WR Adam Thielen, but Carolina has been reluctant to deal the respected and productive veteran. https://x.com/adamschefter/status/1959625205824827843?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  11. For a 5th I'd rather just keep him around. That's basically nothing.
  12. #Vikings have added draft picks and shed salary with recent trades of Harrison Phillips and Sam Howell, setting the stage for a receiver deal. Yes, Adam Thielen is in the mix there. But the VIkings have several lines out on the position league-wide. https://x.com/jfowlerespn/status/1959625656033030358?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  13. I didnt think Howell was good enough for a first round pick, but then again I didnt think he was bad enough to be a 4 team in 3 years type player. Always thought if he figured out to stop holding the damn ball so long and trying to make something happen on every play he could be a serviceable back up.
  14. The chances of trade between these teams is next to zero.
  15. This is back on now. Vikings don't need Carolina to take on any of the cap after they traded Sam Howell to the Eagles. 50/50 right now depending on if Carolina is willing to take a 5th with no cap hold. (Most likely trade compensation)
  16. I know that there's been some water tossed on the fire, but I do hope that both teams are exploring the move still. On one hand, it would suck for Bryce to lose his most trusted WR and a super solid veteran for the young guys to learn better technique from. On the other, if Hunter Renfrow is good to go, he can take that slot spot over and read defenses with Bryce like AT does. Hunter was a high school QB iirc, so he'd be a reliable safety net in the slot. Getting compensation for a 35yr old WR on the last year of his deal and having minimal drop off in production (while also giving more reps to the two first round picks) during a year that seems to be universally understood as the "Is Bryce for real?" season seems like a great move imo, especially if it allows the team to keep everyone else.
  17. In defense of falcons coaches, he fuging sucks. multiple coaching staffs have come to this conclusion. dude literally can’t play football
  18. There are definitely people in the Panthers front office that play fantasy football and cannot wait for Lathan Ransom to de-cleat Kyle Pitts every play for his lack of production.
  19. Today
  20. He also can't play LB, as he avoids any physical contact.
  21. Hmmmmm. I wonder if there is any correlation in making poo moves to perpetually winning 5 games. But keep defending this stupid poo by all means.
  22. No. Sanders has the ability to be the guy. Not sure why anyone expects a rookie TE to just go gang busters.
  23. Well, you just look to the next season where Carolina had the most expensive OL in all the NFL…..and I shared with the analytics where the exact same open and yac issues exist there. And he didn’t have 19th string OGs, he had great OGs that suited up all year. I just don’t get why people are dug into over defense of BY. We know he doesn’t have great physical tools. We know he can’t make all the throws. And that is going to lower the ceiling/potential and we know defenses adjust when a QB can’t hit all the throws on the field. He isn’t going to grow a new body/arm. So for me, he is just our QB for now at this point. I’ll pull for him. But I’ll view him like every other player in the big picture people (Bryce defenders) are cool with replacing and upgrading. And then I favor the growth of bigger picture players (which is why I am done with AT). Biggest issue probably is some think this is a team that is about to compete and I view it as a development team
  24. I am at the point where I don't get angry about the Panthers anymore. Mildly annoyed and most amused. Tepper ain't worth getting angry over.
  25. In fairness to Pitts, they use him completely wrong. He is absolutely a matchup nightmare, but ATL trot him out there at as an inline TE in 21 or a slot wr in 11 personnel. They take all the mystery out of his role in the play. A competent OC could get much more out of him. Use him more in 12 personnel, where you can motion him around to exploit those matchups. They would never trade him to us, but I would love Pitts in this TE room.
