Idk man, maybe I’m in the minority, but Purdy is a damn good QB. He’s part of the solution for them. Not the problem. They would’ve already won a Super Bowl if they could’ve kept their team healthy. There are games where Purdy just gets in a zone and makes incredible play after play. I think he is elite, people just don’t want to give him credit for it because he doesn’t have the look or the pedigree. -
Scott Morrow deserves better (and so does the team)

I didn’t realize Ghost was a 3 year contract. He's relatively cheap and has his moments but it feels like we could find a better player. -

Got 35m in cap space and really the only true needs are a 2nd line center, 3rd pair defender and a goal scoring wing with size. -
i still don't know what this thread is about.

Idk why I thought we had Orlov until '27 and burns until '26 but here we are -

Imagine what this team looks like if Marner had waived his NTC for the Canes instead of saying no. Lol -

I'm in a ton of pain but I'm pretty sure that both Orlov and Burns are free agents after the season ends. -

Yeah, I mean 19th pretty much says it all. It's time to plan for the future. Mays is a backup level C/OG. That's great for us because he can join BC down there and help us stay deep. -

We need someone to be the center on the 2nd PP unit. KK was statistically awful this past year as that guy. -

I believe you are referring to Samir Suleiman, still crazy they just out right fired him but I guess if you disagree with the consensus that puts the cross hairs on you. -
Again had we not ended up gifting the number one pick this trade would be closer. The problem was we misevaluated how close we were. From an asset standpoint it isn't close the Bears gave up a number one pick and got one in return plus a bunch of other stuff. Had we traded Brian Burns for two firsts and then used those instead of our pick it would have been us

I totally agree but I don't think the NBA will ever abandon it. They are so worried about tanking

Eh... the film and the stats don't really backup the backup allegations: top-10 pass-blocking grade, top-25 run-blocking grade, top-20 overall grade. He's got potential and was really starting to put things together at the end of the season. Him and Hunt offset each others' weaknesses fairly well imo. Mays is the better pass-blocker while Hunt the better run-blocker. Even so, the team needs to do their due diligence on the center position imo. Corbett can't be seen as anything more than a one year rental barring a sudden turnaround this season when it comes to his availability. Prospects that I've got my eyes on for 2026: Jake Slaughter (Florida) Iapani Laloulu (Oregon) Parker Brailsford (Alabama) Logan Jones (Iowa) Connor Tollison (Missouri) Connor Lew (Auburn)

Yeah he could be a pretty sizable trade bait. He's one of the higher rated defense prospects in the NHL. -

Burns is a FA so he's probably gone either way. But yea at 22 Morrow's still pretty young and could probably benefit from more seasoning in the AHL. I don't think Morrow being part of the main roster was part of the plan for next year. -

Ehhh. He's a kid. Doubt that they hold it against him THAT hard unless he really can be big trade bait. I think the plan was to run him in the ahl next year and call him up if somebody goes down and get him ready to come up permanently once Orlov's contract comes up. Kinda hard to play at ECF level at 22 when you haven't been up much Burns is likely getting traded in the off season for something to fix the second line and to make more room for Nikishin to slot in. No way we hold him at his pay for his production, not with Slavin getting paid eventually. I miss Fast -
Ghost definitely made the most of a bad situation. He can't be everywhere at once

I will know how I feel for sure after this next upcoming season. If Bryce plays like he did those last 8 games, especially the last 4, and continue to get even better than I say the Panthers won the trade. Overall, despite how it all plays out, I think the trade was a good decision because it was a good shot at drafting a franchise QB and overall, even at the time, I really didn't think the Panthers gave up that much relatively speaking and compared to other trades made in the past to move up, etc.
