how do you correct it at 5'10 and you have literally done it since high school
-
It’s weird some are just acknowledging his footwork like a new thing. The lateral skip, hop and turn/hitch is and has always been his thing. I think he’s trying to correct it but hasn’t and has a weird muscle memory thing going on.
-
I agree. Good staff walk when they know they can't win with the setup. Plenty of scrubs take the cash and then learn.
-
I think he was brought in because nobody else wanted the job IF it came with the caveat that Young had to start. For all of the platitudes players and talking heads give Young, they all know what's really happening here and don't want anything to do with him.

The Panthers’ Bryce Young Problem is Getting Old

He's had the starting job handed to him for three straight years. If Gardner Minshew had walked through the doors of BoA Stadium last year he'd have taken Young's job and stuffed him in his locker. Mental fortitude. -

I mean, he just isn’t a NFL QB and for whatever reason we are doing the Matt Rhule season 3 thing with Bryce. Everyone should know what is coming but here are…..just doing it and wasting everyone’s time for no real good reason. Rhule still had his folks entering that pointless year too. But most knew it was over before it started in reality -
Well if you mean coaching or drafting we have both lol. This dude is usually annoying when there isn't much to talk about but I like this little rant on seeing through the current Canales bs lol.

The Panthers’ Bryce Young Problem is Getting Old

Only putting in performances worth a damn when your team is eliminated from the playoffs is the antithesis of clutch that 4th down throw away in the red zone? Antithesis of clutch i *want* to be wrong man. Truly do. If you look at my posts I’d argue I was actually one of the more gracious posters on here to Bryce in 23 and 24. -

Bryce by the numbers(emotionless post)
Loyalty4Life replied to KaseKlosed's topic in Carolina Panthers
Using a stat saying 75% of his passes are at or behind the line of scrimmage. Last year from week 8 to 18, 15% of his passes were over 20 yards. That was 6th in the NFL. His completion rate was 54% on deep throws which was 2nd in the NFL. Help me make that make sense in regards to what you are saying? Fo real. -

It's kinda the equivalent of playing on your phone at work when you're supposed to be dialed in and in the moment lol. Even though JJ had a rough start yesterday I was really jealous of how he seemed to not lose composure and obviously locked in during the halftime break and came out in the 2nd half looking like a different guy and a leader. When BY sucks he sucks the whole game every time. -

This reads like you would give him an ext or pick up the 5th at a minimum no matter what happens this year. Would that be a true statement? -

oof the huddle nail the brooks pick and lol at @PantherChris thats ugly -
There's aren't many NFL level scouts and most are just cycled from team to team and have really long careers.
-
His completion % wasn’t even high. Think OP misstated a stat. Bryce was 30th this week in completion %. The bottom is where he has been every year in the NFL in that department. you gotta dig real deep in analytics to make a Bryce argument

The Panthers’ Bryce Young Problem is Getting Old

Agreed. Setting protections is one of the more difficult things for an NFL QB to learn but I did see a lot of improvement over the past year. It's still an issue but getting better. Reich hung him out to dry in that aspect and almost got him killed. Once Canales gave him a hot read or option for blitzes and pressure he did much better. The more experience he gets the better he'll get. That's also another good reason to keep a strong oline. Mitigates that a little bit. -

I'll just piggy back off what I said earlier here. The problem with Bryce is and has always been his height combined with his arm. The reason he works so well ad-libbing is that he usually gets out of the pocket or allows the offensive line time to open throwing lanes which allows him to see the defense better, and manipulate the defense because of his legs which eliminates the need to read defense mostly. The reason he doesn't work well in structure is because he can't make those reads at the line on what the defense is running and where to move protection, so he doesn't immediately know where to go with the ball based on coverages/ pressures so he runs the play exactly as it's called and goes through normal progressions 1-2-3. He's gotten better at reading just based on Sundays game because he didn't nearly look as bad at it as he did last year and he didn't have AT to set lines and stuff for him. -
Once Carr left, things suddenly weren’t as bad. The losing seasons went away starting the first year. And they didn’t bring in Lamar Jackson, it was just an okay Matt Schuab but yeah, logically we are the Carr Texans at this point.

Playing better and winning when the pressure is completely off is not a first overall pick. -

Well things the thing, off schedule should be last resort not first thought. QBs need to step up and navigate in the pocket to make reads. When things break down, sure man rock out with your cock out but that shouldnt be a ton during the games -

And that right there is exactly why we are where we are. Seems to me that Tepper is too lazy to clean all of them out or he is too comfortable with them
