I honestly tried so hard, looked at all the players on the final year of their contracts, not likely to be resigned, could bring us anything in return. Not a long list. Had to remove people like Renfrow, Jansen, Corbett, as they are all very unlikely to be moved. Brady Christensen and Yosh Nijman were thoughts, but I felt their value was too high for us to part with.

And one is playing on a relatively weak d line, while the other is playing on arguably the best d line in the NFL.

Don't want to say that Thielen has basically checked out but jumping to another team right before the season starts, and you're working with a young QB who is effectively a rookie by not playing a whole season, and you're 100% retiring when the season is over? Of course he would've been far more productive with us because he had spent the entire offseason thinking he'd play here.

They got the Cosby treatment. Ruffied and raped.

Xavier Legette has checked out. I see no fight in this manman

Yeah, that was one of Cam's key messages to him. Like man, you gotta focus on FOOTBALL FIRST. All these other opportunities likely vanish if you let yourself wash out of the league. I really don't think the Panthers did him on favors focusing on him so prominently in their marketing. He was a guy coming off a less than stellar rookie season that we were hoping would make a leap but the Panthers got out ahead of themselves and treated him like he'd arrive because they saw his marketability but that hinged on him delivering on the field. Right now everyone is looking a little clownish because they put the cart before the horse. -

He's not without blame by any means. But I do agree it would be nice to see better consistent ball placement from the QB position. -

Tetairoa was limited again in practice and listed as questionable, although he and the team seem to think he will play. Injury Report. -

Sounds like he's mentally down and has to talk to a bunch of reporters asking him what the issue is. In any event I'm not ready to drag him into the street and shoot him yet. He just needs to keep his head down and keep working. Keep the main thing the main thing and stay off social media. -

He's gonna be fine. This is a wake up call... and for what it's worth, Bryce is throwing him absolute dogsh*t passes every time he targets him. -
I know the trade deadline is still a long way off, but with the Panthers sitting at 1–2 and not looking like playoff contenders, I wanted to take a realistic look at players we could potentially move. Honestly, it was harder than expected to find tradeable talent, that is, either guys underperforming or players on the final year of their deal. Here’s the short list I came up with and what I think their market value might be: Player Position Age (2025) Contract Status Estimated Trade Return Xavier Legette WR 23 Rookie contract (team control but underperforming) Late 3rd–early 4th if buyer believes in upside; 5th floor D.J. Johnson DE/OLB 26 Rookie deal through 2026 5th–6th round; toolsy pass rusher with cheap control but low production David Moore WR 30 Expiring after 2025 6th–7th round depth rental Nick Scott S 29 Expiring after 2025 6th–7th round depth/ST Akayleb Evans CB 26 Expiring after 2025 6th–7th round if CB injuries hit contender James Mitchell TE 26 Expiring after 2025 6th–7th round late flier for TE depth

They do when they have adequate talent around them.

Let him ride the pine for a couple more games. Turn him back over to practice and see if he's found it in himself again. If not, put him out there for trade bait. If we can't get it out of him, maybe someone else can. Chalk it up as a learning experience however it turns out. -
I would not advocate for the Bryce scale to be used for grading QB performance. LOL
-
but if the Panthers hired Dabo next year, why would I need to give you a name of a better hire to call the bad Dabo hire, a bad hire? It's the same thing. and you can literally buy almost any player. Heck UNC could of paid Air Noland that oddly went down to SC to improve their QB situation.

Okay, fine. I'll throw some names at you I would've considered for HC: Dan Mullen Matt Entz The portal is too deep to get into and I honestly don't pay enough attention to do it across the board but let's just stick to the key position - QB. Indiana gave Fernando Mendoza less than we gave Gio Lopez. Hell, speaking of Indiana I would've called Cignetti too. I know he's older than would be ideal but he's still a decade younger than the guy we hired and he's actually a proven winner at the COLLEGE level and didn't have to get lured back into the game off the couch.

Until the Vikings badly needed WR help, there was never a remote report about Thielen wanting out, and beyond that, he brought out Bryce and all the pass catchers to Minnesota for a few days to work out a month or two before the season. He wasn't trying to force his way out of here until the Vikings possibility came about, trying to say anything else is just attacking him for asking for the trade in the end and being sour about it. It would be like we had injuries and reached out to the Ravens about Smitty going into his last year and then him telling the team he'd love to come back home. -

I prefer colored pencils. The crunch is so great. -
I think people have been pretty understanding with Young considering how bad the supporting cast has been. The understanding stops when he cant physically make NFL throws. Was it the WRs fault that Young had to be pulled for a Hail Mary attempt because he cant throw from the 50 to the end zone? He is the most limited NFL QB I can think of, especially for a #1 overall pick.

Why would I be here if I wasn't interested in other fans of my favorite team's opinions. Your opinion is Bill Belichick and the Tarheels suck, and I agree with that presently. Then I asked what you would've done differently given the situation and you said "I don't know". To me your (or anyone's - online or in real life) opinion doesn't really mean anything without some solution or thought behind it.

I can't believe he said that. "I can only do so much" Bro, you aren't even trying out there. The film doesn't lie. Completely out on this guy. Maybe we can fleece the Cowboys again for a 2nd rounder -
my bad, I reversed the games when I read it. I was referring to the win. The first game. if you apply the BY curve, the 1st game was a good game.
-
Well he only got one last year, a 5th rounder in CSW. Its a shame because there was so much quality talent around the XL and Brooks picks. Maybe he learned

I mean, there's being a homer and then there's just being completely willingly irrational. We all have homerish tendencies when things are going well but damn... I'm not gonna delude myself into acting like dog poo smells like roses.
