Horn's biggest issue this past year was just tackling and Chris Olave. Outside that, he was typically very good. He allowed a significantly lower passer rating this year versus last year. He was almost across the board better except for....missed tackles.
-
Yeah but it was a db blitzing from the corner and Bryce was about to unleash a Hail Mary (lol) and did not see the defender at all. jumping didn’t do anything and wouldn’t have stopped the pass. Bryce might be so small that big objects can’t actually hurt him. Kinda like swatting at a fly.
-
JC dipped after his concussion this year. Coincidence? Possibly. Possibly not. Might be there with Stroud as well. Brain clouds dulling reaction/processing. As if I have any medical knowledge, it seems possible though.
-
I mean...I think the far more likely explanation is that he thought Bryce was about to throw the ball. Bryce has taken some BIG hits in his career and some this season, as well. Not to mention, with this cutesy sideline run BS, he has been courting some of these big hits to attempt to draw flags. In general, he is rarely getting blasted because he is fairly elusive, scrambles to throw often and doesn't take a big hit to get a big throw/completion. He is going to the ground or hucking some duck in a general direction if he is about to get walloped.

You've got to constantly invest in the OL. The mantra pay tackles, draft guards/centers is true for a reason. Every 2 years we should be investing a round 2 or 3 pick in a starting guard/center unless we hit an all pro guy. Center, I lean more towards keeping the franchise guy than rotating him out as long as the price tag come contract time isn't insane. Tackle needs to be a top investment every 4 unless we have bookends. At least one day 3 pick needs to go to a guard or tackle every year churning the backup positions. Almost 18% of our team is OL. Investing at least 1 pick a year is just good business. That roster area needs to constantly be churning to try and keep low cost, highest possible quality talent. -
If you have watched Stroud the past couple of seasons, I think his confidence well has been leaking for some time now. If you look at his overall production it has decline year on year and he just doesn't look comfortable very often. Some of that is loss of OL but it's not like he is getting David Carr'ed. This is the lowest sack rate he has had in his NFL career. It's hard to explain the absolute meltdown he had coming into the postseason. I haven't really seen anything like that other than Jake's one game meltdown and Carson Palmer's wild 2015 two game meltdown(6 TO's against us alone). Both of those QB's didn't last long as NFL starters after that. Not sure what will happen with CJ but I do genuinely question if he is mentally shot. Young's mechanics are unfixable because he(and his team/QB trainer) don't agree with anyone else on his footwork issues. They believe he is doing what will be successful for him.

Interesting chart on offensive tendencies of all NFL teams

Yes I do remember that. And people say the playbook is not limited. -
I'm curious to know if McDermott was sacrificed to save Beane's skin. The one thing that may be the case is that Allen may just not be one of those QB's that is capable of hitting that next level. If so, Beane is probably doomed in the long run, as well.

Oh my God, the ghost of Patrice O'Neal is also now doing Kohler ads. fug, I hate AI.

I would say that's a little bit of a stretch but I am sure he enjoyed the freedom that someone like Peyton Manning traditionally did. He was still not the actual playcaller, just had significant liberties. I am perfectly fine with them taking Evero off our hands and gifting us two compensatory third rounders but I don't anticipate that Brady is going to want a defensive oriented HC, especially since they just had a defensive oriented head coach and Brady saddled him with an "offensive guy" of his choosing in Chip Kelly. We will see how it works out but I do believe most of the scuttlebutt that they will want a HC with an offensive background, especially with a young QB. That's not uncommon at all.

Mcdermott nor Brandon Beane going to come out of this well. Appears it was not smooth sailing.

I keep thinking back to the free blitzer at the end of the first half against the jags who had Bryce completely dead to rights and instead of pasting him just stopped and jumped in the air. i wonder if there’s concern among defenders that they’re going to seriously hurt him. A James Harrison/colt McCoy situation in this day and age probably ends with a suspension regardless if the hit was clean or not https://youtu.be/20ABe_iX-iY?si=9PI6qWBHVFlKxHRC

Neither will win a SB. Their ceiling is mediocre QBs. The future for very young QBs is going to be players like Maye and Williams.

Bill Callahan to the falcons as offensive line coach sorry guys, this is a very good coaching staff. Bijan gonna be first off the board in 2026.

it doesn’t make sense from either side. If you’re the panthers why are you blocking in for five years for a midget putting up garbage production? You can get this from Jacoby brissett and he doesn’t have Bryce’s limitation. And if by some miracle bryce starts putting up actual starter numbers just franchise him and figure it out later. bryce clearly doesn’t have any shame or insight because he hasn’t quit. Imagine him acknowledging that this is what his play is worth. Person is such a fraud. -
Brother I can guarantee you that aint never happening Stroud just got his bell wrong, I think that was what he was thinking about during the game. Some time off will probably help that. Until the next hard hit
-
I just think it’s absolutely hilarious and absurd that this keeps happening

Kohler’s steam shower system is friggin awesome. Was gonna build a sauna when I remodeled my bathroom and just put a bench with steam in the shower instead. I love it.

This type of thinking is going to have a lot of people with their feelings hurt come next season. I think this season was the high point of the BY/DC Era. Hope they prove me wrong. - Today

In all honesty, we need to run more RPO. Far and away the best I have seen Bryce look throwing the ball is when we call that RPO slot slant/TE flat. I would love to see what our percentage of snaps with empty backfield was last year. We need to run way less of that formation and at least have teams dedicate some brain cells to figuring out if we will run or pass it with a RB in the backfield. And I can definitely believe we were close to last in motion percentage. I think the only time we ran motion is when we run that Horn jet sweep
