I was looking at Lloyd's stats and nothing really blew me away. A few good games here and there but definitely not worth paying top.dollar for IMHO. I only saw a handful of jags games and while he was solid I didn't see him dominate a game a la Morgan, beaston, td or kuechly. Imo we be paying top dollar for a solid lb But not one that can take over a game

I wouldn't count on it, if i was Rod. But, it sounds like rehab is going well. Saw a video of Pyotr skating the other day at practice. We might end up getting a look at Primeau before the season is out.

Morgan's Lessons Learned: Reflections on Tampering Eve
strato replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Okay but need to stipulate to LOT isn’t Morgan’s fault. We’ll see how it is dealt with. This cap stuff. When it gets to precluding us from retaining a player or really handicaps FA, I’ll worry about it. I think you can spend money if you structure the deals to give you an out halfway through. And you can keep turning the ready to step in FAs over. -
No thanks on Jaelan Phillips. Good player, long long history of serious injuries back to his college days. At one point he had basically medically retired while at UCLA before transferring and then living up to his 5 star rating coming out of high school. Don’t want to throw huge DE money on a guy that’s banged up constantly.

Morgan's Lessons Learned: Reflections on Tampering Eve

Fair points all around. Here's to hoping his free agency moves go in a similar trajectory to his draft classes. -
Yeah. We have Moton hanging around for who knows how long but the draftee could fit there if Icky came back right.

Seems like Edmunds is a real target - I’ve mentioned before, I’d be fine with it; but just know you’re not getting a top flight ILB. Kind of like a Shaq situation. Totally respectable, has some WTF moments and is not a general for the defense. If we get Edmunds, I would LOVE to pair him with CJ Allen via 19. That would be a complimentary duo. I’m a bit iffy on Lloyd— just seems he’s going to get overpaid for what he brings. His pay day will make him the highest paid offball LB, not sure you want to be THAT team. Oweh had a good season, would be fine, we’ll see on that. I also think Strnad could be the backup plan at LB. I just hope we don’t overpay 3 top guys, never a good recipe via FA. Get 1 or 2, get value vets, trust your draft.

You eat by keeping him in the building, pushing him through a thorough rehabilitation process, and making that a 17 million dollar investment. If Icky isn't grinding the ENTIRE time, you know he's not an investment for the future. If he kills it during his rehab, you may have a solid guard at a discount price for at least one season. It may not be a career killer, Jack Conklin returned. Didn't Slater from LAC tear his too? Remember when an Achilles tear was a career ending injury? Jimmy and Joes like us, would never be the same, but Icky is a 1% athlete regardless of how much crap a message board gives him. But like LAC, you draft a back-up plan early.
