Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
kungfoodude replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shaheed got a 2 year, $6.2 mil deal as an ERFA. ERFA price for one year would be $1.145 mil for Coker. I do think we sign him to a short term deal but it may not be at the prices you guys are talking about. That's not very common.- 45 replies

Yeah, Ikey and BC have major injuries is bad because it creates two big holes that we weren't anticipating having to fill. But, overall we did know even before the season started that there was a ton of work needed on the roster. We still have at least three good to very good offseasons of work for this to be a good roster, IMO.- 45 replies

Oh I totally get it, but just because we can do that, doesn't mean it's the right way to go. If this was Madden with video game players, then sure, do it because it helps the cap. But with real people, doing that is likely only going to piss him off and make him want to sign with any other team the following offseason. I'm not saying give him a stupid deal, but giving him like $3-5 million for the one season would be a massive raise over the minimum, it wouldn't hurt our cap situation, he'd still likely play well above that level of contract, and it would help keep him happier with the franchise. But in the end, all I really want is for them to find a way to make sure they won't be needing to do deals for both Coker and T-Mac in the same offseason, as that's a terrible way to spend your cap space in a single offseason. Separating their contracts expiring/negotiations into different offseasons would be the best way to keep them both around long term.- 45 replies

Going into that drive with 3 timeouts in our back pocket, I could never imagine the game plan was for Bryce to throw the ball away 3 times in a row to result to this 4th down situation. 3 fuging time outs available and acted like it was hail mary situation
-
Absolutely should have been a fireable offense (and this coming from a guy who defended Evero throughout the season) There is only 3 outcomes you want on that drive. 1) Turnover 2) sack 3) They score fast so we get the ball back with a lot of time and 3 timeouts to win the game We chose the absolutely WORST possible scenario. We let them waltz down the field playing soft zone AND let them kill the clock in the process. If there was EVER a time to play aggressive with no consequence, it was on that drive. Ok, we play aggressive and get burnt on a long TD. Who cares, then we have the last possession to go win the game with 3 timeouts and at least 1:30 left. Pisses me off just watching that video.

The one actual not putrid offensive piece Bryce had to work with in 2023. Thielen also was someone Coker looked up to and so we can probably thank Thielen for his development as well. I'll really miss JTO complaining about good old 19. "Oh, and we have 19 putting up the mailbox on his career. C'mon, man. Put that arm down. Nobody cares."

Didn't we have all three timeouts still? At the end of the day you dial up a play to one of your most sure handed receivers for all the marbles. We hinged the season on Jimmy Horn Jr just as we had Etienne back returning punts. I mean even XL managed to not muff a punt ffs. I don't jive with just putting the onus on Horn though. He shouldn't have been in that situation and a guy who we traded a fortune for should have delivered a better pass. This offense was 27th in PPG for a reason and ball placement is crucial.

I agree on all accounts here, I'm just saying they have pushed that ball to the point that not with ickeys injury they need a T and we need at least 2 ILBS a S a TE veteran pass rusher/true #1 edge.... Lots of holes honestly....- 45 replies

Major Concerns with this team…with numbers
PantherChris replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
The trade space allows us to use that full amount for the remainder of the season because we accumulated it with guys like miller, slavin and Jarvis missing significant time, so thats the real number we have to stay under during the regular season and that can be on our roster come post season, our post season cap space is around 20M and thats the number and thats the # the guys who lace up have to be under. -

Depends on price. Also, upgrading via the draft is very cheap. Cheaper than extending him on a starting deal. This is something that is long overdue.- 45 replies

13th best pass blocker at C according to pff (take it for salt) 32nd run blocker, (not such a big issue with the guards healthy) I would agree but with the holes we have other places this is one that can wait.- 45 replies

Mike Tomlin stepping down as HC of the Steelers

For whatever it's worth, I do think he is a players' coach and hope he does well wherever he winds up so long as it is not with the Falcons. -

As am I, this is his peak hes not going to get better IMO, 26 year old rookies rarely do. -
God stuff like this reminds me our amazing our 2013 pass rush was.... 60 sacks and the lowest blitz rate in the nfl.

I'm expecting a sophomore slump for Shough who will be 27 next season.

Showed the rams final drive and how we played 10 yards off literally every WR and TE the rams had the entire drive. Smh bring the heat at least if you lose it shows you tried -
I agree, what i'm saying is they mostly limited him to running sweeps during the regular season when he should have been getting more looks on actual routes to prepare him for this kind of situation.

If we can keep him at a reasonable deal as an IOL backup, that would be outstanding. We do have to upgrade there though. He is a below average NFL starting center.- 45 replies

Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft

Honestly, that very well may have been in the equation. I wouldn't be shocked to see it. It will be even more funny if they overdraft Simpson. Another Alabama QB bust created immediately. -

Because they nailed a LT and got what many believe to be a franchise QB in the second? (Mind you this board trolled the Shough pick when it happened) personally many a rookie qb has regressed (especially guys who only started a handful of games like Shough) when there is tape to study in the offseason on them.
