You know tepper is not going to have him off the team next year. Besides he would be a serviceable backup
-
He hated losing. Ever seen a Brady post-loss presser? Jordan? Kobe? I want more players who hate losing.

I held out hope that by the end of his 3rd year Bryce would break out and be the quarterback you expect a number one draft pick to be. I was on the fence with him at the start of the season, hoping the light would go off. However, it is not going to happen. Troy Aikman stated while watching the Panther-SF game that it was difficult for Bryce because of his height. A diplomatic tv word salad way of saying Bryce ain’t it. I hope Tepper was listening. If Bryce had the arrogant personality of a Will Levis perhaps Tepper would have already pulled the plug. Bryce is a good person. Having said that, the young man is set for life financially. To delay pulling the plug on him at quarterback any longer than this season is really unfair to him. He needs to be able to move on with the next phase of his life whatever that may be. -
You guys keep missing the elephant in the room

I believe he will be here in 2026 and starting i believe they will find a veteran like brisset and dalton happily rides into the sunset 2026 draft will be about defense rds 1 to 3 and oline rds 4 to 7 got a lot of repeat injured vets now and better backup depth needed 2027, They will keep their veteran, draft best available and young, like Dalton, rides into the sunset i feel really bad for psl owners, i used to be one, sitting throw another year with beta minnie mouse

I don't think we can back into the playoffs at this point with our strength of schedule. If we make the playoffs, it's because Young stepped up. In that case I want us to go as far as we can in January.
-
I keep saying it--if he ain't an Alpha, he ain't a franchise QB. Discuss. When I think of Alphas, I think of Allen, Mahommes, Rogers, Hurts, Baker, Burrow, and Jackson. They make everyone around them better-not all are the best QB in terms of talent or skill set, but the voice in the huddle 10 seconds before the snap is important. It gives the team confidence and hope.
-
He had some maturity issues early and would pout. He outgrew them. A frachise QB is a franchise QB at all times---so those criticisms were justified. It is not to equate that to wanting Bryce tarred and feathered, however. It is OK to criticize when you see a flaw or fault, but on the other hand, you better praise the good. My concern about Cam was Rivera. He sacrificed Cam, in my view, by having him run a lot. Cam kept RR employed. Cam could have been frustrated with his situation and nothing more. But having met Cam, I can say there are few if any people like him. He is/was genuine. He cared about the people who cared for him.
-
We still should have kept Darnold. As far as his four teams, every place he was would have been better off keeping him. Even SF. Definitely Minnesota. Where he only got to start because their rookie got hurt. And definitely us.
-
In all honesty he’s not likely to be cut/traded/released until we have a replacement. He SHOULD be gone by January but it’s not likely. I still don’t think he’s the starter week 1 next season.

Yeah playoffs would the ultimate instant gratification scenario, and doesn’t really jump out as best for our overall big picture. But in a way it could be. We know what Bryce is I think. But with him back and us playing a 1st place schedule, we might be able to position ourselves in good place to draft a QB high in 2027. Have to suffer through more misery in 2026 though.

Cam was going to play out his final year on his deal. He’s said such.

I am not sympathizing with Jerry Richard I assure you. I do not look back on his time here with any illusions about the man he was. -
I was sounding the alarm about Dalton earlier in the year when we signed him to an extension. He was horrendous against the Bears and the Commanders and was clearly done. Damn shame folks who were paid to see that couldn't or wouldn't for reasons. Anywho I agree the upcoming options for QB are not "ideal" but that's the hand we're dealt so we need to evaluate the options and choose the best ones that have the best upside. As far as the draft people have been saying "next year's QB class" for what seems like a long time now. You could be right you could be wrong. We just don't know. That should not however preclude us from shooting our shot. Identify the guy with the necessary measurables and arm talent that checks the most boxes select him and see what happens. That's all we can do.

My preference was Wilks and Darnold and whoever we could pick at 9 and 40 or wherever we would have picked. Keeping DJ Moore. Talk about different. I mean the hang there is we would have kept Fitterer. And who was Wilks pulling in for his staff. But in the trade was made scenario and the coach was Reich, absolutely CJ was the right pick. He has the NFL throwing toolkit. -
And I forgot the upcoming Rhule factor, 2020. He did not want to deal with Cam I don’t think.
-
And the great redemption of Sam Darnold (who was always better than Bryce at his worst) has featured him being on different 4 teams in the last 4 years. Folks wanting to hang on to the worst starting QB in the NFL because he might end up like Sam Darnold just speaks to how the bat isn’t just laying on the floor it’s buried in the sand

Wild to think the different direction this franchise goes in if Stroud goes #1 overall. He has had his own struggles but has definitely looked like he belongs and he is far more like what Reich wanted in a QB. Ah well. -

Everything I heard at the time or remember was yeah Frank knew he wasn’t ready and Tepper insisted. Much friction resulted and of course we know who won that one That was a phantom injury week 3 2023 that got Dalton on the field, pretty sure, and that’s what it was about - Frank trying to field an NFL offense. People were and still are very unfair to him. He may not have been the brightest offensive innovator but he spent his life playing QB in the NFL and coaching them. Even though his head coaching record or chops may not have been A-1, he didn’t just go all idiot in 2023 all of a sudden. -
This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

I am not sure why he would take less than he is owed just to get out though and again it doesnt solve any problem at all other then getting off of bryce. I am not sure who the answer is but I know its not him at 36 years old. -

I wish Reich had forced him to sit his entire rookie year but I think his hands were tied. Or he was so pissed he wanted to run everyone's nose in how BAD Bryce was... Because man... - Today

There's speculation he'll be on his way out in LV, which could enable a restructuring of contract. But I don't actually want Geno at all.
-
We have the 13th pick right now and thats actually not a bad spot for 6 wins and second in the division. If we lose these last games to better teams as projected. We might get back in the top 10.

I think so. The rub is, you cannot remake yourself down to that molecular type level of all your techniques and ways you do things, at the top level of your profession, on the fly. If at all. I made at least a dozen posts over the years explaining my thoughts on that issue. He would have had to have that stuff in order from day one. I think it would been a different story, completely. Or could have been. You can’t fix height or arm strength or foot speed or size, to any significant degree though and he should have never been drafted so high. Even with better technique. That was a horrible call on our part.
