Why trading up in 2026 is a bad idea.
hepcat replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Eh you see someone at like 26-30 trade their late second round pick to move up to 19 and jump another rival playoff team for a player they love pretty regularly. Sometimes you can even get a future first out of those trade ups depending on how desperate they are to move up. Not crazy. -
I bet you wish you lost both those games. Instead youre stuck with Hubert because you didn't.

Seems like he could at the very worst be a good special teams player. Could be a good gadget player also

They targeted McDuffie because the other top CBs weren't going to be traded. I saw plenty of McDuffie on the outside last year for the Chiefs and the dude made Horn's tendencies to get defensive holding/DPI look like a nothing burger in comparison. He probably won't be put on an island as much with the Rams because Spags blitzes like every single play. But I think there should be a good amount of concern for the Rams if they plan to line him up outside.

Did someone say "hybrid" player?

Joe Person: Austin Corbett is not expected back with Panthers

Bears C just unexpectedly retired. 27 years old. More demand created. -
When do you think the next one will be? They can't hire for poo in basketball or football recently. Meanwhile Duke knocks every hire outta the park. I bet they love hiring Bill for Duke to win a conference title.

And are just able to be more multiple. Harder to defend, you can scheme up those mismatches. I mean, my real want is Mike Tolbert reincarnated. We need a guy that can catch and get few yards after, and can bang hard to get that yard when we have to have it. Maybe Brooks can give us a little more bang.
-
He is slated to go rounds 5-7--he is the type of player that makes a way onto the roster and stays in the NFL for 8 years. To your point, if Brooks comes around and we have this (and Horn) in the slot, we have given Bryce more options. On paper, it seems promising.
-
Out here storming courts like it was a championship
-
If Brooks can come back he’s a good receiver too which was why I thought they really went for him. look at him and a guy like this in the backfield with the motion you can get a lot of different options. And if Brooks hits a snag you have at least a guy that can give you some carries
-
Not that he would be a tweener--he's an accomplished slot WR with more yards than many in this draft. He possesses all the attributes of a slot--size speed, hands, intelligence, production, and experience. Throw in intelligence and discipline. The fact that he can also play RB in a pinch does not make him a tweener, in my view.
-
Me too--a day 3 slot who can play STs and RB in a pinch-
-
Maybe not the largest choke job but it was pretty epic. Hell.. it made me laugh.
