  1. Past hour
  2. Also, just for clarity, is this thread meant for general discussion of Bryce Young, or discussion of General Bryce Young?
  3. The word I feel most comfortable using as a descriptor is "inconsistent". Haven't really seen anyone disagree with that. Consistency being one of the things I value most in a player, that makes me lean toward moving on. But he does still have both time and opportunity to prove otherwise. Mind you, having a streaky quarterback isn't exactly a new thing in Charlotte (you could argue it's been the norm). Delhomme was notorious for starting slow but finishing strong. He could sadly also find hos way into ruts that were difficult to crawl out of. Newton, on the other hand, was often known to start hot but fade late (the vast majority of the 2015 season followed that pattern) though it could be argued that was a team pattern as much as it was Cam's. There are definitely some fans for whom this is always going to be a bridge too far. (or too short) Realistically, it's not impossible that he could still have a good career even with those issues. It's a damn sight more difficult, though. And arguably, less likely.
  4. Oh, I did, and they weren't based in emotions either. Granted, characterizing them that way gives you an easy out to avoid responding to them. Similar tactic to dismissing the other guy's points with "nah, you didn't really watch the games" which saves you having to debate what he said. Strikes me as a kinda lazy way to go, but hey both elements are still back there if you feel up to trying later.
  5. Today
  6. I see the issue, I am not counting his rookie season where he didn't actually play minus a few snaps of garbage time. So by your math that would be his 4th year.
  7. Well, those stats certainly disagree. He is very much having a better year. The "tie" is not actually a tie. The cells clip and round the decimals to one significant digit even if the input is more.
  8. You didn't make counter arguments, ad I have pointed out several times. You got your "feels" out but that isn't a compelling argument.
  9. I am not quite that optimistic but I think this past offseason seems to be an improvement for sure. Let's hope that is true and it continues.
  10. The Saints didn't get off to a good start this year (neither did we) but they're "peaking" at a good time to at least play spoiler. Of course, it could be argued so are we. (I'd feel a lot better saying that if we win this Sunday, though) For now at least, the Saints are the only team in the division with a win over every other team. We have a chance to match that by season's end, and we'll need to if we really wanna make the playoffs. As to the players: I'd still say it's a little early to put Hubbard or Dowdle individually on a higher plane than Kamara (heaven knows i want them to be). Equal.isnt bad though. As a two pronged attack, hell yeah... but when are we gonna see that? Similar issue with Coker but he's getting back up to speed. Sure couldda used him in some earlier games. Mind you, I compare Coker to Pettis based on their depth chart positions, but realistically Coker ought to be our #2. (don't think too many would dispute that spot on our chart is basically a gaping black hole at the moment) And of course, McMillan. Over the last few games he's had some drops and things that made me wonder if the proverbial rookie wall was hitting. The good news there though is that if it is, our bye week hit at just the right time. The OL..yeah Now all that said, if everyone gets healthy and we smooth out a couple of rough spots, this time next year it's quite possibly a very different conversation. (one that'll make me, you and a lot of others here feel much more optimistic)
  11. Kamara isn't good this year. He isn't averaging even 4 ypc. Dante Pettis has one reception this year. TMac has more yards. More TDs. higher YPA. More YAc than Olave.
  12. I get what you're saying. When I looked at his performance, just the QB role, that was a good game. It was a good game I would expect from a franchise level QB. It's not a game I would classify as a stellar performance. It's the same standard I hold any QB to. I'm not holding Young to anything different. The statement was that was a stellar game. I didn't think it was and gave my reasons why. You may think it is. Perfectly acceptable. I think stellar performance is one you sit down and watch and say look how <player> took over and dominated the game. He controlled the game. He controlled the offense. He was the driving force behind the win. I don't think he met all those qualifications to call it stellar. That's all.
  13. As for the arms race... The Canes are currently being linked to Quinn Hughes trade speculation.
  14. Sounds like the Oilers are trading for Tristan Jarry. It'll be interesting to see what the package is. Jarry is playing lights out. And, Pittsburgh is not exactly out of the hunt at this point. They don't exactly need to move him. Either way, if the deal goes through, this will be the first domino to fall in the the Stanley Cup arms race. If Edmonton (or any other team out west) is gonna have any chance against the Avs, they're gonna need a brick wall in net.
  15. Couldn't you find a play in every game with every QB were they got credit for a TD or some yardage but it wasn't really because of anything special they did. Tha's just part of the game. And if you are going to say Young doesn't deserve credit for the TD, then couldn't you make the same claim with Chuba. I mean all Chuba did was run in a straight line. He didn't juke anyone or break tackles - just ran straight to the end zone. He was able to because of great execution: the pass was good and his blockers all hit their man allowing him to go in untouched. So does he really deserve credit it for the TD. Again, I'm not trying to be argumentative. It just seems Young is held to a diffrent standard than other young QBs.
  16. Bryce Young is going to be a bust that I would not touch with a ten foot pole after this 3rd season is over Shedeur Sanders on the other hand is going to turn out to be a really good franchise Qb watch Carolina & Cleveland both figure out a way to screw this up in the end.Carolina will extend Bryce Young which of course will be a HUGE mistake & Cleveland will draft a first round Qb in the upcoming draft which will also be a HUGE mistake ..just saying myCb
  17. As you attempt to lose people in your lengthy posting….remember your initial disagreement was our RBs aren’t better. And that’s a reference to our skills position players in the backfield. We are just flat out better there. And you are for some reason trying to manifest Rico into this injured player while trying to elevate a clearly down Kamara via some hot tub machine point remains, ask legit NFL fans if they would rather have the Panthers backfield in 2025 or the Saints. It’s easily Carolina. As most NFL fans arent playing gymnastics to try paint Bryce in a worse position than Shough. one team has a good rushing attack and on has weak rushing attack. You can type 8,000 words and it won’t change that.
