  2. A guy named Adam Rank is doing rankings. Did he just get that job on name only?
  3. The team record is on the coaches. The players are evaluated individually.
  4. The win/lose record is a team stat that rests on the head coach. Players are judged on their individual performance. Young, along with every other player, will be evaluated on his stats and how he contributes to the overall team record.
  5. They historically don't adjust that fast. Maybe after a game or 2. I just don't get it, even as coach speak 'hiding' their intent it sounds weird.
  6. You didn't see the team be incompetent. You saw the 2nd and 3rd stringers playing what the sub coaches called. Nothing more. I don't think anyone really knows how the team will be at this point. I, for one, hope it is a continuation of late last season.
  7. Throwing this out there.... Both times Panthers went to the Superbowl we played (and won) against the Jaguars Week 1. Just sayin.
  8. That's a maybe. With 6 wins they would be in position for a rookie at a higher draft pick. That was an easy pass this year but next draft it might be a much tougher call....especially with the 5th year option and extension begining in that same space.
  9. That's a pick around 5-7. I wouldn’t rule anything out if that happened
  10. I guess it comes down to who can play multiple positions on the Oline and who cannot. Nijman can only play T and he sucks at that. Brady can do it all but if he starts at LT the G position is left too thin I guess. That's all I've got.
  11. Today
  12. The yearly curse of D Line and O Line injuries is alive and well. It's almost comical.
  13. I am not sure what the deal is there. BC is obviously a substantial step down from Ikey but Niman is straight off a cliff. I don't get it. Curious to see if we decide to start him AND if they realize their mistake and out BC in.
  14. The issue is that our only strong unit is banged up and basically has been most of the training camp. It's not super unusual for big guys but when you are already arguably worst roster in the NFL, these kind of things can matter a lot. We definitely can't afford being minus even two starting OL with the razor thin margins we are likely operating with.
  15. Nah, I do agree that BBQ and mac goes together, but I don't want pure cheese on my BBQ sandwich, that's all
  16. We have the 5th easiest schedule this season. 7+ wins is definitely obtainable. The way the NFL hyped this team post-draft/talks about BY turning the corner/NFL trying to make XL a superstar makes me think the league has something up their sleeve. Plus that whole "week 1 vs Jags" coming off a Ohio St. National Championship narrative.... were getting into the playoffs somehow.
  17. I love XL, will defend my Gamecocks until I die. But he needs to have a productive season and show some improvement. It helps a lot that they took TMac to get him in a better position this season too.
  18. You really think Canales tipped the game plan with that statement? He's getting 20+ touches Sunday.
  19. 5 or 6 wins seems likely. 9 would require opponents gifting wins and even then it's hard to imagine. Having the easy part of the schedule early mixed with notoriously slow starts and adjustments makes it hard to see 7+ wins even with gift games included. Teams have played down to them and still pulled out wins the last few years.
  20. Not sure I would say the Saints can play defense. If our defense didn't exist last year, they would have been the worst run defense in the NFL. They made no improvements to their front 7 in stopping the run in the offseason, so I see that being a struggle again. They also have an oline that cannot pass block for crap - combo that with Rattler/Shough at QB, and that sounds like the 2023 Panthers dilemma we had to endure.
