They aren't truly better post trade. Stafford was traded after the 2020 season. Dan Campbell became head coach the next year, Ben Johnson elevated to OC the year after that. That's why they were "better" post trade, until Johnson left. With those two calling the shots, and Matthew Stafford, the Lions would have at least one Super Bowl this decade. Also, Jamhyr Gibbs, Sam LaPorta, Amon St Brown, Jameson Williams, and David Montgomery were all added post trade, which would've given Stafford more talent than he was ever surrounded by in Detroit. With respect to Megatron.

Like we sent out a legit request to Ryans. He turned us down. He was a top coaching candidate that turned us down. I think that meets the standard. Bringing someone else in who isn't up to that standard just to mark a checklist is a bit insulting I would think. -
Good for the Rams but the Lions weren't going anywhere with him. They're better off after that trade than they were with him.
-
Well he's not going to win MVP. Maybe he wins 1 of the other awards, or maybe both, or none. I do think it says something that he is up for a reward that is almost exclusively reserved for qbs. The last non-qb was Tomlinson, maybe Peterson, or Alexander maybe?
-
It's all about RBA outcoaching Paul Maurice, and I don't see that happening.
-
Of all the trucks we saw Cam do, that was one of the least memorable when I think of him running over someone.
-
2 former Panthers, and Stafford, who should've been a Panther if our front office wasn't clueless.
-
He may have wanted out but it wasn’t anywhere but here. Felt like once SF was possible it was 100% leave. He was never my favorite player to be honest. I didn’t care that much. I am 100% anti RBs before the 3rd anyway. Don’t care how good they are. Get the OL right and there are 20 backs a year or more coming out that can produce for you. I wanted Kamara later. Like, 3rd or 4th and he went in the 3rd. Pretty sure. Unless I’m mistaken he out produced CMC that first season and had excellent production for his entire rookie deal. Now with junior at QB, CMC would probably have torn it up. With Cam you didn’t need that.

Exactly. If you ever thought we'd see a replay of the downfall of Aanti Raanta, we're witnessing it now. Tulsky should have been looking for a goalie for 2 months now, and send Freddie down to Chicago. The Canes have 6 more b2b situations coming.

I can't read 12 pages of this but I'll just say this. CJ has the physical traits we wish Bryce had. But Bryce is mentally tougher and will continue to be a starter in this league while CJ seems mentally cooked and may never recover. He's been chasing his rookie form for two years now.

Don’t know if it’s to that level yet but is definitely concerning. We have no word on how Horn is doing either. Hard to be an optimist around that. Seems like they become more frequent and pretty soon you are not long for the field of play.
-
Sounds like a plan to me.

And you yours. -
This thread should've ended here. Anyone who thinks CMC wanted to be here, PM me for information on a dirt-cheap beach house I have for sale in Omaha.

I love what he did, but we won't be able to keep him after next year. The fact that Horn doesn't get targeted very often tells you who the opposition gameplans around.
-
I mean he's like a soccer player playing running back. I know he put on some muscle but still, he's a small guy. Mazda Miata in a destruction derby was how Rivera used him.
-
He head a great year, but he turns 30 next year. He also played in a mostly zone scheme on the opposite side of the field from Horn. I remember Evero mentioning he doesn't use Horn in man as much because he needs him to cover a large portion of the field while the others handle the rest. As long as we have this much money tied up in Horn, I don't think you can spend too much on the other CB. Hell I like what I saw from Thornton in his limited snaps.
-
The thing with Norman is QBs pretty much stopped looking to throw to his side pretty early that season. He was elite that season and neither of these guys are close to that level. However Mike Jack is better than given credit for. I feel like Horn is over rated.
-
I disagree. He would be acceptable as a Day 3 pick but that is about it.
-
He is probably looking at his last opportunity to grab a bag. He would be a fool to not shop around if he is excellent again.
-
Nothing about CMC leads me to believe he is sandbagging. He is too much of a competitor. He is just insanely injury prone.

I mean, you are welcome to your opinion. -
It would be foolish to let him walk. Horn had two concussions and has a history of injury. When you consider he was a terrible tackler before, you have to prepare for issues with him in the future. I would not be surprised if he misses multiple games again next season and actually gets worse with his tackling as he will NOT be looking to hit hard. As good as Horn is, depending on him to consistently play is foolish at this point. Hell, another concussion and he may call it quits. Luke and Jewel did.

You guys drive me crazy with that. It's just not true.
