  1. Past hour
  2. So glad they didn't draft Mason Graham. And they would have if he'd fallen to us - over TMac too. That kid just ain't a top 10 pick. He'll be ok by year 3, but he'll never be a Derrick Brown.
  3. I actually think he'd be a great change of pace back to Chuba and Dowdle. But they rarely give him run on the offense. Dude had one attempted punt return in college. One. And I don't think he'd returned a kickoff since his sophomore year. That's not a guy you pick in the 4th to primarily be a returner. Not when your safeties, ILB, Edge and WRs were bottom of the league and you already had a RB room predicted to be one of the best in the NFL. Just another WTF moment to me.
  4. Bryce has expectations the same as Legette. Except Legette does not distribute the ball. Bryce Young was sold as an elite ball distributor. At some point we need to see him elevate the moving parts around him as a first overall pick. Instead of him needing everything to go absolutely perfect around him just to be a serviceable starter.
  5. Thielen just needs more time to learn the offense. By year 3 we should really see things light up.
  6. I simply do not view Thielen at this point as a needle mover. If you or anyone else disagrees that's fine. That's what this place is for. As far as former Panthers go I can agree we like most other fanbases tend to change our perception. But Luvu is still in his prime. Thielen is not. Again though. It's fine to disagree. He isn't here anymore so it is all just fodder anyways.
  7. Like when is the Huddle (collectively) gonna acknowledge that? I want BY to succeed because he's Carolina's QB, but I am NOT a BY supporter (in a vacuum). I didn't even want them to move up for a QB in 2023. I knew the team wasn't ready for a rookie QB, and that was with DJ Moore. Roger, he played at Alabama with really good college talent. But the level of his college WRs compared to every WR this team has marched out there not named TMac is ridiculously sad! He had about 4 WRs from college that would be the #1 WR since coming to Carolina. Adam Thielen is your best option?! WTAF! And you're digging on the kid because he isn't putting up numbers? Just doesn't make sense to me. And coming into this season saying he had no excuses? That didn't age well. Not one bit.
  8. The Etienne pick sort of made sense in that RB is a position where you can often find value in the mid to late rounds and we needed some juice at returner so draft a guy who should be able to immediately contribute in the latter while developing behind proven vets in the former. Then he goes out there and looks like a guy who has never seen a punt in his life. Oh wee mayne.
  9. Im keeping an eye on Athan Kaliakmanis as well as others mentioned in this thread. Mateer Mendoza Nuss Beck Moore
  10. I’ve been giving a lot of thought to the players whose fathers played pro sports. It seems like the more mid-tier the dad was the better the son is and vice versa. I’d love to see some data on that tho to back up my suspicions.
  11. There's just zero reason for taking a non-QB project player in the 1st round. Just landing serviceable players would greatly improve the roster. But we continue to pass it up for fools gold every year.
  12. Yeah, they still seem to have WTF moments in drafts. Brooks and Legette in 2024 were legit WTF moments, particularly with who was still on the board for both of those picks. Now granted there was only one real WTF moment in 2025 in my opinion with Etienne. But there were legit playmaking safeties and WRs still on the board and they picked a guy that would be 3rd on the depth chart at a position of strength. I would argue a LB, Safety, Edge or WR would have made more sense than Etienne. And then they don't even give him carries.
  13. You are probably correct, but it comes with the territory of being an NFL player paid millions of dollars. He could have done himself a lot of favors by taking a bit more mature approach in the offseason. I still hope he ends up being a good player
  14. This was my reading on the situation, too. Thielen was happy to be here. But, if he can partially help his current team (trade value), and return home for his last hurrah, why not? I did not feel like he forced his way out of here last minute...
  15. There was a time where 2024 looked promising, too. The brief period where XL looked like he could be salvaged, Brooks was back from injury and looking decent, JT was vaulting defenders...
  16. I don't understand why this whole thing is so tough to understand, it's very simple. Neither Thielen nor his wife wanted out of Carolina, it's why he signed the new deal to come back here this year. The Vikings had WR injury issues in camp, when that happened they then needed a WR and reached out to us to try and get Thielen. Once that happened, it changed everything, because it was an opportunity for a player who lived his whole life in that state, to go home for his final NFL season. Once that was on the table, yea, of course he's going to then "request a trade", but what people don't seem to grasp, is that Thielen didn't just come out and ask Morgan to trade him. It ONLY happened because the Vikings became WR desperate in the weeks leading into the season, but I'm a million percent convinced if they didn't, we'd never have considered trading him and he wouldn't have asked for one. It was a very unique situation that arose because of another team's needs, not Thielen's doing, and it was ONLY happening with that one team, no others would have made us want to trade him, especially for a bag of peanuts. Now, had we still looked this bad to start the year, I think he'd have been traded to a contender at the deadline to just get something for him, but that then would have been a different and smart move at that time.
  17. Eh...I am not gonna call anything after one draft. It looks slightly better so far but I am not prepared to say good.
  18. Yeah, upon review, this is correct.
  19. This ain't the first time that has been throw around in here. It's funny every time it comes up. WeLl ThEy ArE pRoFeSsIoNaLz!!! YoU cAn'T dO aNy BeTtEr!!!!! I mean, I can't do much worse either, right? I could have told you Bill Belichick was a bad hire, and I did when it came up. I could have told you Matt Rhule was a bad hire, and I did. I could have told you that XL was a bad pick, and I did. Etc, etc. It's the idea that far too many fans CAN come up with better and more reasonable solutions that infuriates us.
  20. Yeah maybe. Who the fug can do anything with Tepper edicts to factor in? By the time you placate him you are in round 4. But regardless. For me, I promised I wouldn’t judge either GM or HC in that first year. And I didn’t. In the end maybe instead of Tepper poisoning last year it was Dan making mistakes. I feel like maybe he is learning from them, because this draft looks really good to me.
  21. Actually the first post that seems to have been negative was about the Texans dropping to 0-4. For once none of us negative nancies about Bryce initially derailed the thread. Then things went into the predictable comparison of only the last half season of games for both QBs...
  22. Fan belief in him is substantially less important than his belief in himself. That seems to be the issue at the moment, he has very little of that.
