  1. Past hour
  2. XL is a very raw talent with questionable desire to play the game of football. Everyone can now agree on this. He may be the smallest playing big man I’ve ever seen. He has 0 desire to sacrifice himself if it means making a play for the team. If he sees pain coming his way, he ain’t making the play and out comes the alligator arms, a flat out drop and/or a sloppy route. So he’s a dude who has very questionable understanding of the play book, seemingly little desire to play ball at the NFL level and hates contact (but is a beast run blocker, somehow). There is no turning that around. Package him and Bryce in a trade where the other team has to agree to take both. His cap hit is the next hurdle to overcome but at least he will be tradable when the time comes.
  3. I dont mind him being positive.. What bothers me is his action statement without action.. His mantra was to be like Pete Carrol. Bring in competition and let the best man play. DC showed that he cannot do this.. look at Ricco and Hubbard. One was clearly playing better and yet he favored feelings over performance. You can be a 'positive minded' coach and yet have high expectations.
  4. You can’t believe him, especially at the podium. I can think of 4 lies right off the bat. 1. Bryce is starter moving forward/Bryce benched next day. 2. When Andy is healthy, he will return as starter/ didn’t happen. 3. He prefers to run the ball on 2nd short. Literally throws the ball on 2nd and short the whole next game. 4. Whatever in the hell cover up went on with Bryce’s ankle/Andys thumb. Maybe they aren’t flat out lies, but he is very misleading and changes direction a lot. His face during the press conferences just looks so condescending and annoyed. I think he just spouts off whatever gets him through it without making the locker room hate him.
  5. His effort is very frustrating for me. Plays hard one game and then doesn’t give a rats az the next game. His football awareness is bad and his hands are mediocre. Even with top effort he might not make it. He will bust IMO
  6. All noise and no substance
  7. He didn’t obtain clearance from the leadership council to criticize Bryce. Oversight in retrospect, tbh
  8. His positivity schtick is getting old, Dan should have looked for a dawg in his head coach, not a damn therapist
  9. He is meh, functional meh. Could be worse but I'm not expecting much better. If he was handed a stacked team he would become the weakest link. At least he is NFL meh. That's all the positivity I can scrape together for DC.
  10. Not anymore, and I'm not saying we fire him this week or something. I want to see him with someone else. But I do think that he does have to own some of the passing offense & Bryce's performance for now. I'm not sure he can feasibly put a better passing offense out there given our QBs though.
  11. didnt he get a netflix show? he like byoung has dont nothing to deserve the hype with that said cant be all out on him until a halfway decent qb starts playing. alot of times wrs play down when they know their qb sucks
  12. This isn’t even mediocrity sadly. I would have been fine with a respectable performance that allows your players to make the play. He is the weakest link on the offense.
  13. He obviously can't get signifigant velocity on throws beyond 12 yds. Quick game he's fine he can read leaverage and rip a stick route. But those 2 balls where you have to get air on it over the 2nd level but with pace he can't do it. He has to generate power from the ground up, he's still throwing off platform like Mahommes and he'll never have that arm. I think he knows whats open an can can actually get through progressions but he knows he doesn't have the velocity to throw that tight window ball or too a primary route with minimal separation, so he extends the play at times just so he can buy a easier throw or make the defense breakdown. Thats not sustainable. He's simply not a playoff QB, he's serviceable and he's a great character guy but he's not winning you a championship even with a loaded team sadly. Some guys are great college QBs but just don't fit in the pros i.e Wuerfful, White, Crouch, Bennett, Manziel etc. The NFL is a different beast when it comes to the cerebral side of things and theres a lot of inate skills that come into play.
  14. dude was a 5th yr senior at SC and eats racoon for thanksgiving, what did you expect?
  15. I agree with this. Call the full playbook. Maybe we see it in late Dec after we drop a few more
  16. I get it, but who would he play? We saw the Andy game. Do we even have another QB?
  17. Sucks we drafted him to literally out athletic people and go get balls like that…. And he doesn’t even try. What a waste of a pick
  18. Ahh yes, Bryce's superpower: making middle aged forum dudes lose it! I'm sure I'd be lumped into the Nut Hugger category since I started the season pretty measured, and I can admit when he makes some good plays. So flame on? The reality is that Bryce has shown he's good at the subtle aspects of being a quarterback. The gamesmanship, those quick twitchy movements to get a pass off. Those are some good plays he's made, but they results in a 12 yard play. This season, when going down the field (a rarity) he's been pretty much a turd. The moment seems to big for Bryce. I'm glad he got mad yesterday, but the only person he should be mad at is the one who he sees when he brushes his teeth. Bryce isn't the guy. We're just kind of stuck right now with a middling QB class in 26. So what do we do? I think we're stuck with Bryce playing for at least next season. I think the Panthers NEED to go get a young vet QB to push him. Time and development are important, but Bryce has had plenty of time right now. He's not developing. I want Bryce to do well because that means my Panthers do well. But I think it's pretty apparent that Bryce Young is not a franchise QB. He's a back up level player. We swung hard and missed.
  19. It was the worst D choking on Rico's revenge. 'Playing well' behind that was just not making mistakes. It's a gift and allowed him to get his QBR to a whopping 53.1 and the only player with over 50 yards receiving was...Rico. A sub 200 yard game agaisnt one of the worst Ds with the RB going off like crazy. That's nuts lol
  20. No way we can’t have these excuses about QB play. Talent is evident no matter what. Only thing that varies is the statistics. XL is just an athlete, not a football player
  21. Since when is coaches not being 100% forthright and not telling the media how much their players suck in pressers a novelty?
  22. eh, this offense would DEMOLISH last years defense. If we couldnt stop the run then, rico and the run O would go for 250 easy. now passing the ball, bryce would prlly have his best game of the season and throw for 47 yards, 1 INT and a garbage time TD.
