  1. Past hour
  2. Well that's my point, if he couldn't make the initial 53 here, he probably knows that if he signs with us, it's as a locker room mentor and he probably won't play much, if not even just being inactive on game days. If other teams are offering him a chance at real playing time, it's then which does he prefer, to be closer to his family or to actually get to play again. I can see why he'd need to talk it over with them
  3. I believe he wanted to play here because it was so close to home. If he plays I would think it would be here to keep it easy in his family.
  4. Well, also saw that there were other teams interested in him, so maybe the talking it over with his family is more about whether he wants to stay home in Carolina, or go play somewhere else where he might get more snaps.
  5. We have ONE of seven who will not see the field on offense. Jimmy Horn also is more quick, than fast. He could probably have gone up to New England with Brady and been a puzzle fit, learning to run the Edelman, Dola, Welker route tree. He's not going to be asked to do that here. He's going to be asked to run a traditional route tree and just beat your man on your assigned route. The comp for Bryce was Mahomes. Mahomes and Reid play a lot of backyard style football with plays drawn up on the fly. Brady used to do this with his quick hitters. I get Bryce is going into year three, but man, you really have to adjust to your personnel. The team is still building as if we have a 6'4 QB starting and that's just not the case.
  6. Yep. Always better to wait for the story to come out before overreacting. Now it looks like Moore was the only real vet we were able to keep in the WR room.
  7. In fairness, AT missed several games last season. And so did Bryce. One would have to look specifically at games both of them played in to be accurate. Just looking at the last two games, XL had 14 targets, Thielen 12 and Coker 9, so at least for the last two games, your assessment appears to be correct.
  8. Could be a good thing IF you're looking for a single month. If you're looking for the full season, buying the full package instead of monthly is the better choice
  9. XL led the team in targets by 20+ last season. While AT was the more reliable (and productive) WR last season, he really wasn't force fed like some of the Bryce haters want to believe.
  10. All this hysteria over arthritis. That might be the most huddle thing ever.
  11. Man, it's almost like there is some major systemic problems in our communities making crime, violence and drugs a viable alternative to whatever else. I've lived in Charlotte since 1985. I've been going downtown pretty readily for the past 20 years. I will agree, there is a lot more to worry about. It has gotten worse as the services and social safety has been cut and undermined. There is also a major problem in our homes and families. Kids don't just decide to jump into gangs and drugs. They do that when there are no opportunities or hope. That's not a political statement, but it's straight from the Framework for Understanding Poverty by Ruby Payne.
  12. Roll it over and continue to build smart. If we're lucky, we're competing for a playoff spot this year. Don't spend on leftovers just to "hope" you get lucky. Keep being smart, acquire assets, let the young guys play, and hope we're on the "in the hunt" graphic late into this season...that's the real goal. If all goes well, (and Bryce shows he's legit), you can be more all-in next year. Seems like that's been the plan, which he finally have, and we're sticking to it.
  13. Today
  14. For all the shade thrown at the Panthers for cutting Renfrow, if he has to 'talk over' if he wants to play in the NFL or not, then it should tell you that either the man's heart or health is not up to the task. Either way, it looks like cutting him initially was the right move. it gives him time to figure out if he feels like playing in the most exclusive sports League in the world.
  15. Agreed and this is the type of QB you pick up and try to develop. A QB that was actually good in college
  16. That’s the definition of a one player away fan. We aren’t in the playoffs this year unless Tampa shits the bed and a losing record takes the South so spending our entire cap is bad. Roll it over so when we are competitive we can sign a couple studs and go for it. A 5-12 team with a lot more than one hole is not that.
  17. Who cares about year 4 and 5th year option? The only elite QB who hadn’t proved himself by year 3 was Aaron Rodgers. First, Young isn’t him/doesn’t have an HOFer in front of him and second, Young doesn’t need a one year player as a security blanket. If he’s the guy, he needs to elevate his WRs in year 3.
  18. If Young can’t play without Thielen then Young’s career was going to be over after this season anyway.
  19. Well they are a developmentally minded staff that has focused on building this roster from the inside out. So I wouldn't expect a splash move to fill any holes coming anytime soon, especially outside of the trenches. Maybe in 2026, but that depends on where Bryce is. If Bryce fails, we are gonna stay in rebuild mode.
  20. No, I just really don’t want to leave games on the table this year because we believe in Shemar Bartholomew or think Claudin Cherelus is well enough.
  21. They are claiming the ball is in Hunter’s court. He is talking it over with his family. https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1960802797781442845
  22. You must be one of these "one move away guys."
