As far as your point I agree that the level of hostility in a lot of opinions is high. I disagree and let's not normalize poor personal decisions because lots of people don't make these trangressions and especially not with someone that you do business with when you work in the public eye.

We don’t play single high safety and it’s not because we don’t have one. It’s to keep the offense guessing, a disguise. It’s a staple of the Fangio/Evero defense. “True free safety”is not a thing under Evero.

I think for Dan to have gotten the GM job, he had to be involved pretty heavily as Fitt's assistant. I've been an assistant and I've had them. If all Dan did was agree to whatever Scott said, then he was nothing more than a coffee guy. I'm sure he was doing evaluations, draft boards, going after FAs, all that stuff. Fitts couldn't do it all. How much Fitts listened to him we'll never really know, but I'm sure he was giving his input. I condemn him for being part of that group and part of the results of the results of that team. His first year drafting was horrible, very reminiscent of Fitts drafts. Reaches and projects. His 2nd year was better. We'll see what happens this year and how his team building overall comes together. Right now I think we're a 7-10 team, very limited by our QB play. Hopefully Bryce either turns a corner into a franchise QB or tanks so spectacularly we have no choice but to move on. If he rides that roller coaster again, I hope Dan can admit it's time to look elsewhere.

We need a true FS and have for a long time. A good FS makes everyone's life easier on the back side. Some positions you can't just throw anyone in and have success. FS is one of those.

I would be happy w/ any of these picks that could conceivably fall to us at 19 (in no particular order): Freeling, Proctor, Thieneman, Lemon, Faulk. I just hope we don't reach at 19, and I think those five would represent good value.

A true FS makes your CBs better. We got beat on third and long a lot, it seems.

Honestly he played both but was at his best as a strong safety. That was when they had traditional roles like FS and SS. I think Grant was out FS for a chuck of Minter's career here.

so I just want to get something off here. Is cheating bad? Yes. Should you do it? No But the amount of blood lust I've seen for people coming after Dianna calling for her to be fired is astounding. People are obsessed with tearing others down but I gurantee all of those people have done poo in their life too and would cry foul play if someone called for their jobs

Right. If we pass on Thieneman we won’t find another similar type as good as he is in later rounds. If we pass on a DT there will be similar options available to us in rounds 2-4

It could be epic to grab one of the top edge rushers, to be honest. But the cost... and the fanbase would howl considering what happened the last time we did it. Right now, maybe we're picking at the best spot possible for us at this time. Some of the future Pro bowlers will be gone, but some of the overhyped as well. At 19 the dust should clear a bit, leading us to better decisions.

He is a stud--I think he has some RT in his past.

Some see him dropping into the second now--not sure why---frankly, I see the top OTs as a weak group (as you all know) but I like the developmental group.

We don't just need a safety--we need the qb of the defensive backs. A smart guy who can play centerfield. Ed Reid. We don't need another S that is best in the box--We have 3 as it is. That is why the pickings are slim for that kind of safety. I prefer DT (McDonald) but if this safety is there, he is a player you won't find later. McDonald? not so hard to find his type

Once they do that my interest is going to be at an all time low, dude has done nothing to earn it, hasn't even earned the 5th year imo.

I would be happy with this. I mean the smart play is probably a O or D line player.. but I would get excited about a LB, S, TE or WR player.
