  1. Past hour
  2. The Panthers will not draft either of those guys at 19.
  3. Absolutely LOVED Smitty as a player. Who didn't? But Smitty the person, yeah... not so much. Unfortunately all those things that made us love him as a player had no off switch. He was basically the exact same person off the field that was on the field and that's obviously just not gonna work well in polite society.
  4. And our record says we were a losing team that lucked into getting into the playoffs. Playoffs are not our standard because we didn't earn our way in, the Falcons had to do it for us. We also got in because the NFCS sent another losing record team to the playoffs and the Panthers are the only team in the NFL to go twice with a losing record. That's not something to be proud of. The reason I brought up the 13 and 16 point scores was those are not typically wins most weeks in the NFL. In fact, there were 31 wins this season where the winning team scored under 20. 7 of those happened in week 18. That means this past season, only 11% of the time, the winning team scored under 20. Prior to week 18, that was 9%. Week 18 was a statistical anomaly. How often does a team go into the red zone 6 times and come away with 13 points? Not often. GB did and we won that game. And we played a Jets team (0-7 at the time) that was offensively inept. Teams also don't consistently win one score games as often as we did either. Those things tend to balance themselves out the following year. I'm not erasing wins. I'm looking at how this team actually performed during the season. We defied the odds winning 2 games scoring under 20. The record, and the stats across the NFL, show we are in reality closer in performance to a 6 win team than we are to 8. If Bryce was a FA for another team would we be looking at him? Probably not. He's in the retread and dice roll category. It just so happens we just signed him to the option. There's not a lot of good options out there right now. That's why I'm not in the sign a vet as QB2 club. Bring in a retread or dice roll. Trotting a vet out a couple of games isn't going to get us anywhere long term.
  5. Not sure he is in the top ten but: His 9.99 RAS score, second among 1,512 tackles since 1987, isn't a gimmick. You see every bit of that explosiveness translate to the field when he kicks and slides in pass sets. NFLDraftBuzz
  6. Ya win some, ya lose some. Legette looks to be a loss. The time for disappointment has passed. I expect nothing, so if I get something I will be surprised.
  7. I got called into HR one time, as they were doing their research after a verbal altercation that I had with another employee. He was the one that started the sh¡t and had the nerve to go to HR. Well, I did the meeting, & the manager gave me her card & said if there was anything else I wanted to say regarding the investigation, to contact her. I thought about it later that day, so I used our company email and told her that I was willing to take a lie detector test, and that if he and his two friends were willing to do the same, once it was determined that they were lying and that I was telling the truth, then they would have to be punished accordingly. Funny thing is, after that, I never heard from her again, or anything about the investigation. It's like it never happened. Anyway, yeah 89 isn't doing himself any favors with this one. He wants to fight with a guy old enough to be his dad because of Rivera's lack of communication, even if there was some perceived hypocrisy going on. That's just not a good look.
  8. Today
  9. Will Taylor get away with his perpetual false start on the Panthers opposed to the Chiefs?
  10. Is Bryce the answer? Probably not. Do you see another answer out there right now? Well, do you? Retreads and dice rolls, that's all that's available right now. Maybe work a trade for Mac Jones, send Bryce to them with that fifth year deal. Maybe San Francisco can work their magic with him like they did Purdy, Jones and Darnold. And we'd have Jones for a couple of seasons.
  11. Following you on Real and Bologna. Tagged in Arizona to tick up the parlay.
  12. Every game we won last year we scored over 20 except for two games . So when they did win they actually were scoring . You are what your record says you are . You can’t erase wins to fit your narrative lol .
  13. It would be something to go yet another year with no 1st put into the defense. I think that would make 6. 6 years without a 1st rounder for the defense. And we seem to be fuging stuck
  14. In terms of absolutely sucking at personal interaction, Gettleman and Smitty are about equals. Well, I'd still give the slight edge to Gettleman in that he can hold it together and be friendly and witty conversationally but how they choose to handle tense situations proves they're both basically just assholes at their core.
  15. Carolina Panthers On SI @SI_Panthers · 3h #Chiefs Just Released Perfect Ikem Ekwonu Replacement for Carolina Panthers in Jawaan Taylor
  16. David Montgomery is headed to Houston in a trade for a 4th, 7th and OL Juice Scruggs.
  17. Mezidor is a reach at 19. I'd only take him if he slipped to our 2nd round pick. I feel the same about most of the edge prospects not named Baine, Bailey, or Reese. Cashius Howell has historically short arms. TJ Parker had a down year. Keldrick Faulk has great size but limited pass rush production. The list goes on. This is not a good class to be getting line the 4th or 5th rated edge prospect . I'd rather get the 2nd ILB or the 3rd WR, 1st TE , vs 4th-6th DE. The value just ain't there at 19.
  18. It appears we might favor Proctor in the 1st as an option. That's just my theory based on nothing but Persons article.
  19. I've seen Proctor projected to go higher so im guessing he could be an option at 19 if they don't like the options at defense. Likewise with the center it appears he's an option in the second.
  20. One play today. Might do a basketball parlay tonight if it hits
  21. There is only 1 place to get an OT--these experts need to read the tea leaves--I am OK with Golday and Slaughter (C will probably have to start), but we are going to need a LT. We have already sent Nijman into the market, Ickey may not be back ever, and BC is not going to be available. All signs point to a LT. Freeling or Lomu. Even if Ickey is coming back, let him play RT after Moton or G.
  22. This just in: We will have a new center in 2026. I think the draft is solid at C, and a rookie would be decent between our twin veteran guards. While we could go free agency, I just do not see pouring more $$ into the OL aside from Ickey, Moton, Hunt, and Lewis. We have a QB we might have to sign, Coker, and you can't spend $200m on offense because you have a short qb with a below average arm and limited mobility.
  23. Drafting two future O-line starters on rookie contracts will do wonders for our distorted (obscene?) cap allocation to the O-line. Proctor (22) Lew (54)
  24. Horrible first pick. A 25 year old lightweight edge w/ short arms? Those picks also demand a quality LT in FA. Who would that be?
