  1. Past hour
  2. 100%. A chunk of our victories over the past few years have been opponents having "those games." Hey, take em where you can get them, especially in the division. Definitely glad to see that ATL also suffers from poor coaching issues, as well. While we have been a dumpster fire, it has been nice to see most of the division also experience this fate, as well.
  3. I am a little perplexed Scott is still starting over him, TBH. Curious to see how long that lasts this season(minus any injuries).
  4. Yeah, I just think Penix had one of those nightmare games that had more to do with himself than our D. Then the whole team around him sort of imploded too. but we were due for one of those going our way for a change vs us being the one gifting games to an opponent.
  5. So we turned a 1st into a 3rd and 7th. Is that supposed to be good?
  6. Eh.....I tend to disagree on the run defense but that's whatever. The thing that struck me immediately was that they DID have ample opportunities to get yards on our pass defense but Penix was so frequently off target with the ball that it was nuts. Late, behind, too high, too short, etc. He was spraying throws everywhere but where they were intended to go. I am a little reticent to give TOO much credit to our defense for that reason. They did generate a lot more pressure on the QB so that was great. It's a one game sample so I don't want to reset the expectations just yet. Hopefully it's a trend and not a statistical outlier.
  7. Today
  8. Penix was awful because the defense bottled up their run game and was finally getting pressure. It clearly rattled him, as it would most QBs.
  9. The David Moore hate is, quite frankly, absurd. He is good for what he is, a 4th/5th WR that is an excellent special teams player. It's hilarious we have so many Moore detractors but then guys like XL get infinite passes.
  10. Moehrig had coverage issues the first two games but also had the third highest coverage grade for the defense against ATL behind CSW + Mike Jack. Good game overall for him as he had the highest pass rush grade on the defense. There were three particular plays that stood out for the all-22 review thread (still in progress: a QB hit on Penix during a blitz that affected the throw, giving Penix a little extra shove out of bounds, and ethering Charlie Woerner in the flat. Lathan Ransom should be starting over Nick Scott, but Demani Richardson is where he currently fits best as a dependable back-up and consistent ST contributor that occasionally hits the field as the #3 safety.
  11. New Englands Defense is much worse than Atlanta. They also struggle to run the ball on offense, their offensive success has been from Maye. So basically, our offense should perform better but it will boil down to our pass defense against Drake Maye.
  12. Apparently we should be able to tell a difference with Ball physically compared to previous seasons, if that's true and it allows him to stay healthy, keep up the effort defensively and finish at the hoop ... Could be the breakout season we've all been looking for.
  13. If you give BB 3 years, he may put UNC in a 5 year hole, TBH. Also, I don't think he sticks around for 3 years. Furthermore, he had this entire charade set up as an excuse to install his son as HC. How do you imagine that will go? If UNC is smart, they will pivot as soon as that buyout is low and before there is permanent damage.
  14. Penix was straight trash Sunday.
  15. Yeah we fuged up the Baker situation royally. Looking at him today, it was just a total fúck up. It wasn't Browns level, but it was a fúck up on several different levels. If Mike Jackson has another solid season (which he has begun), then I think he gets the nod over Harris.
  16. The one thing we can all probably agree on is that our run defense has been much better so far this year than last year. Outside of the one long run and the Jacksonville game, the Kyler run in the Arizona game, and 1 run in the Atlanta game, the run D has been pretty damn good
  17. All this is great, but still...Penix was awful---missing wide open receivers left and right. We still may have won the game if he had just been decent, but it's just hard to get too excited. Let's see some continued growth from the rookies, and another good outing and more consistency from the defense in general. If this happens, then excitement may begin to overtake skepticism. We have to beat the Pats, or the raised eyes from the Atlanta beat down will become furrowed with the quickness, and any inkling of goodwill be lost.
  18. I mean... If being good at toss blocks is your only good quality as a WR, you probably aren't good... Much easier to use him solely in that role when the falcons can't score a single point
  19. Falcons offense was the easiest to gameplay for. 90% of the time they are in shotgun its a pass. Their plays were dictated by same formations. This made it easier to gameplan for out of all of our opponents. NE will let us know if we made any progress with our coordinators preparation.
  20. One of the key stats that wasn't mentioned here was the Falcons average starting field position was their 19 yard line. I really haven't watched much this season, so I don't know if our kicker did this in the first two games, but this dorky dude seems to make the point that the panther's ability to squib kick was instrumental and perhaps unique. https://x.com/SyedSchemes/status/1955260481330950406 Sorry if not formatted correctly.
  21. I mean the panthers have mostly been in an era where player trades don’t happen. its not like the nba.
  22. Them playing behind a couple more seasoned guys until they get familiar with coverage and pace of play is a good thing though. We really can use them to spell the other guys, and in situational ball especially with Ransom on possible run/blitzing downs.
  23. They fuged him over so bad to help cover their bad judgement. About time he got a little something to wrk with.
  24. I think completion percentage is a bit of a overinflated stat for a qb too. People place to much stock into it. So many factors to consider with it : receivers, how many attempts are made deep, the defense etc all play a roll in it. When it’s considerably low 50% or less the QB accuracy can come into question. But I don’t think it’s necessarily one of the better percentages to put so much importance into for that position. General effectiveness is far more indicative of the QB you have. First downs, 3rd and 4th down conversions, points scored and clutch plays IMO is how you grade a QB. Always bothered the poo out of me how people downed Cam for his completion percentage and that’s what they used to disregard him as an all time great. Dude damn near averaged 3tds to 1 turnover a game and was an obvious difference maker for us.
