So, just what is it that makes a QB "elite"?
KillerKat replied to Brooklyn 3.0's topic in Carolina Panthers
Its simple. Elite QBs can put the team on their back consistently. -
I think Bijan Robinson is gonna run wild on us.
-
App St fan? Joey could be a good NFL QB but he is probably a mid round guy with limited upside in a college offense. I’m not against taking him in the later rounds as a backup with some potential.
-
I feel like with Bryce, our defense is always guaranteed to give up 25 minimum. It’s built-in.
-
If I was him, it’s the perfect year to come out for that reason. I know Vandy won and he got injured in that game, but I’ve been seeing chatter about Pavia as a top QB too, and although they won, he doesn’t look like a franchise QB. Arch, for whatever the reason he looks so bad, he just isn’t a franchise QB either. All the other guys that come to mind who are RS Soph or Juniors, to me, are not appealing. Sellers likely is the most physically gifted QB were he to come out this year. They even opened the game with the graphic about him being a potential #1 overall pick. He’s already got the hype. If the other guys stay in school, it just drives his stock up higher.

OP will demand 0-17 and still create 3 rage threads after every loss.

Id say its hard to evaluate anyone on offense with Bryce at QB. Everyone takes a hit not only performance wise, but mentally as well. With that said, I wouldve never drafted him with just 1 good season out of 5 in college. As time passes, Dan Morgan is looking more and more like Fitt 2.0.

It was the only drive in the second half where the D put any effort whatsoever, like the first half. If the zone could have been any softer then they would have to lay down and take a nap. -
This is an XL thread. You brought Bryce into it. There are 500 Bryce threads. How can T-Mac make things happen whereas Legette is a net negative everywhere (literally)?
-
It’s not about XL being bad. It’s about the double standards and mental gymnastics to make excuses for Bryce. Yeah XL sucks. Why is it so hard to apply the same standards to all the players?

IMO, the most critical ability for a QB is to be able to get the ball out quickly and accurately under pressure. It is what seperates the good from the great. -
Yeah that's my issue. There can be two things true at one point. Bryce Young can be a bust. Xavier Legette can be a bust. But one is a first overall pick in his third year with 25+ starts of bad play the other is 2 games into his second season. But only one of them some people here are saying should be shipped off right now. They aren't being consistent.
-
This 100%. Don’t think we talk enough about the weakness of the o-line
-
Kinda but not really. If you took Bryce’s 2023 game against the Colts, or his 2024 game against the Chargers, and translated that to a WR you’d have almost every Legette game. Young being bad is a separate issue; Legette being unplayable is its own.
-
So he’s like our QB then lol.

Could you imagine Cam getting that same opportunity as Bryce at the end of the game? We actually recover an onside kick and Cam Newton comes in with a little less than 2 min, 1 time out, and 50 yards to go. That's elite! We all would have known we would win, the minute we recovered that kick. -
No, it’s not. He’s unprepared, unmotivated and unsuccessful at every facet of the game. The QB not being very good is not an excuse for a WR loafing it to the LOS and half-assing routes. It hasn’t stopped T-Mac from being an impact player.
-
To be fair Scorton had a collapsed lung a few weeks ago. That's probably something pretty dramatic to recover from, mentally. I still hope he can mature into something great. Our young guys are not getting the playing time either. Which I dont understand at all. I am starting to think Evero is trying to get fired. Our D is bad. Might as well start the young guys and see what happens.

Ejiro evero likely to be fired Monday

They need to blitz more. -
He was a dumb pick. But the blame on him is unfair given it’s only year 2. We should wait until year 7 like Bryce or else we’re not really being fair right? Somehow this guy needs to be removed from the NFL, but the jury is still out on Bryce.

I love T-mac but where is the impact from this year's draft?

TMac is literally one of the best rookies in the NFL. - Today
-
That is good company to be compared to. People forget he is only 29 so we can easily sign him to a 2-3 year deal if he continues to be ole reliable.

Id say Bryce is Teddy with extra steps. But that would honestly not be fair to Teddy. -
Been a T-Mac fan from day one. Watched all his highlights after Tankathon mocked us to draft him. I quickly became a fan. Kid is already showing veteran traits in his first year.
