  3. Who that compares to Luke was denied the 1st ballot honor? Maybe I should look. I am biased I guess but I don’t think with an extra 3 years with no decline, how could they legitimately deny him?
  4. I just hope he can come back... man we need his abilities on this offense.
  5. Maybe in a Thomas Davis thread. Brooks is at 2 now. To state the obvious. I don’t know orthopedic surgery but total speculation by me is maybe the first surgery was done incorrectly, and it isn’t just a weak knee thing. That got me. My knees would not hold up but that was in the old days of even one ACL ruining you.
  6. I think Olsen for a 3rd was a pretty great outcome. We got borderline HOF worthy performances for a few years.
  7. No. They have cracked down on the first ballot stuff recently because of complaints from the old guys.
  8. That’s funny because… I didn’t see the game but there was a clip from Sunday of Rico completely blowing a block. So I am glad to hear the other side.
  9. The footwork is a huge deal, it seems clear that you aren’t gonna do much velocity jumping to throw or standing with both feet parallel to the LOS which is pretty much all arm no leg drive. The only chance he has, to be NFL good, is using great footwork and getting leverage from his base. When he doesn’t? He gets away with stuff, sure, but it is not going to get the job done in the long run, big picture, etc etc.
  10. They both ran the ball well, but I'm going to agree with giving Rico he slight edge - No stats, just the eyeball test. PLUS, I saw him blocking his ass off in the backfield several times, which always gives me warm fuzzies.
  11. A curse he shared with Chris Gamble, maybe the greatest cornerback to never make a pro bowl.
  12. @Icege There is a post in this exact thread making the statement he actually does have a rocket arm and is denying his shortcomings.
  13. He has been pretty focused on fixing a problem but it seems like it is just one big effort at the most glaring problem per season. They are building LOS first, I hope next year they focus on the second level. I would love to see him put his overkill stamp on ILB.
  14. You're just failing to cope with how atrocious this roster looks. How many players do we have that would be starting or getting significant PT on most other power conference teams? Hell, Jordan Shipp might be the whole list. And it's not because the cupboard was left bare. Belichick and crew used the portal to completely reshape the roster in their vision and much like his moves as GM with the Pats the result is trash.
  15. Also, obligatory Brycen Tremayne hype. Join the bandwagon today!
  16. That was my point. @LinvilleGorge was acting like there was some magic hire or recruit the administration or Belichick missed. Unreal how much coaches leading awful programs are making. Cal, Va Tech, Houston, Maryland, Virginia and many others are paying their coaches $5M+ a year.
  17. This team has a rich history of great linebackers. Is a high standard to hold anybody to. Take the fact, that the NFL has been prioritizing other positions over linebacker, adds to this also. The fact that our drafts have been offensive heavy for awhile now, also adds to it. As a fan of great defenses, I am definitely not satisfied with the trend that has been happening. While Morgan is a retired linebacker, it's not like he hasn't had other priorities in the 2 years he's been in control. We also lost a good starter from last season, that we weren't expecting to lose. Not making excuses, just observation. At this point, it is what it is for this season, whether we like it or not.
  18. Well I have never claimed anything he did was due to bad players on the other side. On the flip side, people defend him on the regular with saying it isn’t his fault because his teammates are bad. The coaching, the other players, tell me I am lying. Hmm. Edit I am going to caveat that first thing. I for sure claimed you could not use college as a direct comparison to the NFL, because the NFL is another level entirely. So it does discount the opposition, in that context. But once you have NFL results, no.
  19. It's amazing how they started getting more pressure when they used the young pass rushers more instead of the Vikings rethreads
  20. Seems a good opportunity to tell others not to give up on J Brooks just yet due to injury history.
  21. And he were truly an underdog late round guy I would have a totally easier time rooting for him. Everything he got then, would be earned through performance. But it wouldn’t change what he is as a QB, the same limitations would be in play. And I wouldn’t overlook them, if I were being clinical about it. It is still perform or take a seat.
  22. Today
  23. If you genuinely believe that more folks are denying Bryce's shortcomings (I don't think I've seen anybody claim that he has a rocket arm) and aren't able to acknowledge the regular attempts to explain away positive performances by chalking it up to the competition "just being bad" then I don't think we're going to be able to have any type of effective communication.
  24. I advocated for a wait and see approach again this year but yeah that was contingent on him immediately picking up were he left off last year.... He is who he is at this point.... he is a more turnover prone Teddy bridgewater, even when he plays "good" the offense is so boring its unwatchable
  25. Remember ‘vaporware’? That stat seems like vaporware to me. I looked it up yesterday and still don’t really understand it. It seems way to loosely defined, and really poorly named IMO.
  26. If he was a 3rd pick he would already be off the team or at least 2nd or 3rd string
  27. Actually I’ve got some stats about how big time his throws are. You could even call them…..Big Time Throws
