Morgan looking for aa FA Free Safety
ColumbusCounty replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree and that missed int caught my eye but I do love the temperment. Morgan is definitely slowly leaving his imprint on this defense. Tuasivi Nomura is another UDFA we picked up. -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8
Bear Hands replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Geez people, it's nicknames. People naturally shorten names, so it will happen. Morgan even did it in his presser. It's not disrespectful, it's just people doing the single syllable shortening. I personally am just going between McMillan and Tmac, but wgaf about policing how others address him. I had a name that could be shortened into an annoying one growing up..I didn't raise a stink even though I hated it. You can't dictate your own nicknames. People will call him what they call him, again wgaf. I think the current trendy way to put this is "let them", as all the suburban women are saying these days lol. -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8
MechaZain replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't need another clip, he said Tet was ok. I get that it's not his preference but ask Smitty or Kevin "The Slim Reaper" Durant; nicknames are mostly given to you. It can't be disrespectful to shorten his name if he likes T-Mac. I called the man King and you're acting like I'm deadnaming Muhammad Ali. Get the pylon out your ass. -
What other top WR did he matchup with over his college career?

I was a fan of Jalon Walker until I started to think about how to use him. SI I would be worried about how he is going to defend run plays and bigger more athletic linemen in the NFL as an Edge. Pearce is intriguing. Needs to add some weight but the guy is extremely athletic with a high ceiling. Trading away your first rounder for a guy with character concerns is risky, but I guess they did their homework.

Here is a question to ask if you are looking for ways to muddy the waters even further: Does the Homewrecker Law apply to common law wives? In NC, common law marriages were abolished in 1989, but in South Carolina, they are still recognized, but they have no alienation of affection laws. However, one state--Utah, recognizes common law wives and alienation of affection. That would be something--you are sued for having sex with a woman who has never been officially married. I imagine that infidelity would nullify the common law marriage, but if the party who was faithful was not aware of the infidelity.... OK, back to sports.

She was. When I read his post, I was picturing in my head Sally Fields in Forest Gump--not to make any other connections, I just pictured a wise woman with unconditional love for her son. I have been saying it for years--Smith is a POS as a human being. A turd. A self-absorbed, narcissitic, Napoleonic, punk. He has good qualities, but they are not what defines him.

If you think about it, we were not meeting the need for a #1 WR any other way with any other WR. We dabbled in free agency and watched #2 WRs like Higgins get monster deals. In this draft, only TMac had the skills and traits of a #1. Plenty of #2s and slots--but I am not sure there was a #1 ready to play in the draft--that explains why three NFL teams that we know of were trying to move up to get him--and why the Jalon Walker smokescreen (if intentional) is what you must do. Teams who wanted TMac were trying to move up. Morgan refused to trade back as he clearly advertised before the draft--He did not want the others to know he was after any single player, but he was.

I couldn’t get excited about drafting him prior to the draft but I’m all in (I guess I have to be) on TMac. Maybe some of it is Kool-Aid but I’m excited and it’s the season of hope but it feels like we finally have a true threat at WR since forever.

I have been with my wife for 22 years. For 20 of those years, our relationship has been excellent, while the last 2 years have been just okay. The issue isn't with marriage itself; it's about finding the right partner. If you choose wisely, you can have a fulfilling life together. I feel fortunate to have made a good choice.

yeah. for Hunter to have a chance at all, he had to be grabbing on TMac. That's pretty plain to see. Now I don't know how many others Hunter had to grab to contain, but it probably wasn't many, if any at all. Hunter knew what was up....it was TMac over him.

Is he exaggerating that accent just a little bit or is that really really how he talks? -

And he says what he wants to say without coming off looking like a jerk. You can't really judge sincerity when there is a mic in your face. If he says it, we should respect it. Part of this is about forcing your culture on another's culture. For example, a kid being bullied may try to smile and laugh it off in public, but inside it bothers him. -

Yeah I've realized that marriage does more harm than good to a lot of relationships. You get so interwined that staying married becomes more important than being honest with your partner and yourself. There's more honesty and effort put in when both people are free to walk away whenever. It's always been funny to me that "never stop dating your partner" is typical marriage counseling advice. I think the healthiest relationships you'll ever find are the unmarried couples who have been together for many years.

I like the hits, but I gotta say, I get pretty nervous when a cornerback’s highlight reel doesn’t show him actually covering receiver. -
