Talent evaluation issues aren't the fault of the player. All you can ask of the player is to work hard and do everything the coaches ask of him. By all indications he has done that. Same for guys like Clausen and Armanti Edwards. It's not their fault that the organization over drafted them. They put in the work they just weren't good enough.

Packers 2023 is Bryce's best full game. And then he followed that up with a colossal stinker against a Jags team without Trevor Lawrence. And that's a window into the conundrum that is Bryce Young and why you cannot and should not read into one game or even a few games. You need to evaluate the body of work.

Packers 2023 imo he made difficult throws against Green Bay. That sideline pass to chark is probably the best throw of his career. no idea what Dallas was doing Sunday. Their coverage looked like those pitching wedge challenges they have at top golf

I gave him what I consider high praise and at the same time feel like it is totally valid to look for him to be in a position where it is on him to lift it up because the box is full and there isn’t any yardage to be had on the ground, you know the scenario. I mean that is a test he has yet to convincingly pass from my memory. . You may or may not have seen but I gave him props for Sunday. Absolutely his best game afaic and he did it for 4 quarters. Which seems like a first. Maybe a second, but it is rare. Year three and everything but the kitchen sink has been thrown at helping him not fail; standards are high and should be high before he gets yet more years.

Often a primary reason we have trailed in every single game in the 4th q (minus one). Bryce has looked on occasion like an NFL QB for a few snaps. Fields is about the same. Both are still better than Anthony Richardson.

well, that was Bryce and Fields in a head to head. How people are going hard for Bryce at this point is just detached from all other football discussions and how we view everyone else. Fields has been a more productive QB overall. And Fields is garbage.

People downplaying Rico Dowdle while strutting around over Bryce Young's "game winning drives" is a perfect summary of how far down the rabbit hole this convo has gone and also how low standards have sunk. Well he definitely needed to throw for them to score. Which is what he did. That and 3rd/4th and short plays when the run game couldn't get it done. They tried running a few times in those situations and failed. 3 TDs in the game for Carolina. 3 of them were passing TDs. Canales didn't want that to be the case. It was out of necessity.

I wouldn't say trap game but we have been awful on the road. If we can't begin a turnaround with the Jets of all teams then it's not gonna happen.
