  1. Past hour
  2. Just checking all the threads going on: We hate Tepper We hate Canales Tepper has been way too involved with football operation Tepper fires way way way too many coaches But we've also noticed that Tepper has been comparatively quiet last season and this season thus far (at least, publicly) with regards to football stuff. Maybe he's turned a page and letting the Football people do their thing? We want Tepper to fire Canales We can't be angry about Tepper firing coaches every 12 months AND saying that he needs to fire Canales in the same breath We can only choose one: which do we pick?
  3. Nadeau must make this team. Dude is a stud.
  4. Bryce has been discussed so much it feels like shouting into a storm at this point but the bottom line is Bryce is not physically gifted enough to be a difference making QB (i.e. Allen, Lamar, Mahomes, etc). His best possible outcome is a high level game manager (Brock Purdy esque and yes Brock can make some throws Bryce can't) If Bryce does not have elite talent at the receiver position/o-line and has an average scheme/OC/HC, he will not succeed. Now ALL of that being said Bryce was part of the problem yesterday but he wasn't the ONLY problem. It is very reasonable to argue that because QB is the most important position on the field that Bryce is our number one problem rn. But the coaching is also a huge issue. This team is largely average to below average in terms of talent at nearly every position. I see three Pro Bowl caliber players on this roster right now, which simply put is not good enough. You want to improve this roster? I don't disagree QB could be upgraded, but in addition to that I believe we also need a new HC as well then and need a major injection of talent across the roster. Very, very hard to do all of that in one offseason
  5. Whatever agreement they had on Young shouldn't apply to the rest of the team. It doesn't excuse his failures unrelated to Young. Thats the rub with me. Tepper is not controlling that. If he is then Tepper truly is the head coach which makes Canales nothing more than a OC and not a good one at that.
  6. yes Andy Reid would not start Bryce Young at Qb Bryce Young will never see the field again as a starting Qb in the NFL once he departs / leaves Carolina i think some people forget BY will have to earn the starting job somewhere else.its not going to be the same situation as in Carolina where he is the starting Qb because of where he was drafted ...just saying my crystal ball is on point
  7. Maybe this is the rub: I am not convinced that he had the okay to seek an upgrade in waiting. He did bring Hooker in. I know that doesn’t seem like much but it might indicate a want. I am reminded of a back and forth on the Monday meetings we had last year and you atringly asserted that Tepper was meddling. Yet you are discounting the possibility, or the degree of it now maybe. Because he Could have put conditions on things like no undermining Bruce he gets every chance. Everything I have seen aligns with that Especially the 2024 draft fwiw. I believe Evero has Tepee’s backing and he got autonomy. Or could have. It is reasonable to assume that possibility especially given how lightly Canales has treaded discussing defensive issues and personnel. Food for thought.
  8. Meh. The Jets aren't some great team either. And a lot of us have been fans of Fields since college.
  9. I would have liked someone other than Dalton to be brought in, bexause even if Bryce had come out playing circa late 2024, you want a better backup than Dalton if he goes down with an injury. Ah well.
  10. He will never be "good". His ceiling is a 2nd or 3rd string QB that does some mop-up work or when the starter goes down for a game or two. What you have seen is it.
  11. After watching the Jets and the Dolphins play, do I have any confidence that we could beat either? ...no. And stop this obsession with other team's QB's. You know we're just going to make them look worse.
  12. He's exactly the level of affordable talent that should have been brought in to make Bryce actually compete for the starting job.
  13. Absolutely. I've liked Fields and hoped he could have turned it around someplace. He wasn't why the Jets lost... He had a couple incredible plays. He is so different from Bryce he didn't make sense as a backup but I really wish we'd picked him up.
  14. Yeah he's the best back up we have, it's best to keep him on the bench so he doesn't get hurt. That is 100% the reason and Canales isn't the first coach to do that with bc. We'd rather our poo ass QB get hurt instead of our 6th best olineman get hurt actually playing.. ok wait a minute maybe I see the logic. If Bryce is dead they don't have to play him
  15. Forcing Ron to go 3-4 should be on that list
  16. I'll have to agree to disagree on how fair it was. In my view from the peanut gallery he had an opportunity to hedge his bet going into this season. Even if he were confident in Young he hasn't shown he can produce with him. He hasn't shown an ability to adjust his system or play calls during the game. He cannot control his own coaches or coaching decisions. And that's just off the top of my head. If I really gave two sh*ts I'm sure I could dig up a few more reasons. I'm coming to the realization that I may never see this team competitive again in my lifetime. F*ck you Tepper.
  17. At least with Fields you have to account for his running ability and he occasionally throws a really nice deep ball
  18. Fields is exciting (if frustrating). Young is boring (and also frustrating).
  19. Changed this for you so it's still accurate next week.
  20. I would still much rather watch Justin Fields than Bryce Young on a weekly basis lol
  21. See there is the rub. I don’t think he got a fair chance. So who would you turn to?
  22. The plan is fine. I just think they picked the wrong green horn to stick to.
  23. I’m not trying to be an asshole to you I am just frustrated I will just say that when people make agreements they need to follow through on them. My understanding of what was done and why it was done with Canales is that we knew we were hiring a guy that wasn’t ready. We agreed that we would give him time to be read to grow into it. I didn’t pick Canales but he had a track record of helping QBs. I never for a minute believed anyone could help Young be what he can never be. Ao you hand a green side a clusterfug and expect miracles right away. That could never work. But with some time and better QB to work with it might. People learn the guy is overwhelmed but not without merit. Peraonally I got slammed for saying I wasn’t thrilled with his positive and he sounds like a metrosexual beta to me. Not the hard nose ball coach I am used to I knn no ow he isn’t perfect but at some point we need to stick to a plan doegivw the typos I am on a tiny phone with big fingers. too many to fix
  24. From the looks of it it's rancid. It certainly smells bad. Better throw it out.
