I wonder how much of it had to do with the hiring of Eric Eager as VP of Analytics. He came in May 2024 after Free Agency and the Draft but was a part of the last draft and Free Agency. For those that don’t remember, Eager was a Senior Data Analyst and VP of Research and Development at PFF. After that he was a VP with SumerSports where he had a big hand in creating NFL AI focused around roster optimization. -
He's still on the injured reserve list and needs to be activated. I have doubts they will do it this quickly. He practiced with the scout team today. They have 21 days to elevate him. https://www.panthers.com/team/players-roster/

I just turned on the TV and it was on ESPN2 and I've never seen stands so deserted. I think it's Missouri State and Middle Tennessee State. I don't think there's 50 people on the stands. There's literally way more people on each sideline than in the stands. There will be more people at my daughter's 4th grade soccer game tomorrow night. LOL

cranky started following Looks like Coker is back to practice...

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker is officially off injured reserve and was a full participant in practice Wednesday. The second-year wideout has yet to play this year after a quadriceps strain in late August. “He looks fast, he looks like Jalen,” head coach Dave Canales said.

Turn down the sound so I can hear the CC better. -
If we build up our linebacker group next offseason we can easily have a top 5 defense in the league
-
Hurney was also a major reason for the 2001 draft class as well. Still the teams best GM... Though yea that's not saying a whole lot

Don't forget trading our future 2nd, the 33rd overall for THE Armanti Edwards.

Define "short term".
-
Would've never happened if the BOT wasn't mad about Mack being fired and decided to go over Bubba's head to hire Bill. Reportedly some of the talks with Bill violated school rules as well.
-
Worth the short term hit to get him out of there.
-
Program is going to get hit and for a crappy year at that. School is investigating serious recruiting violations. Worst part is it could've been avoided but the school bot wanted to punish Bubba and hired Bill over his head, which is why Bubba is headed out the door. It's a joke and a mess from top to bottom.

Hurney really relied on his scouts I think. Video wasn’t just pick up your phone or iPad and have it all right there. He lost me with the trade up I think it was Everette Brown which didn’t impress me but the killer was he gave a future 1st. I frown on that shut.

How many rolling chairs does he have in his room?

Hey, I think we need to get into the rule book influence business. The receivers are so bad that maybe we could sneak a rule in so Bryce could walk down to where they are and hand it to them so they wouldn’t miss it.

Tepper was the real #1. But Fit acting as #1 Dan #2, #2s don’t make that kind of call. I mean, IMO. -
I do wish he would have made it until after the Duke game but either way it needs to happen
-
He was trash against the eagles. Last second opportunities are secondary to that. That game was all about the defense and chubba. prior to the final drive Bryce was a whopping 14/23 for 135 yards, a pick, and a big two yard touchdown pass. That is who he is. maybe we don’t need XL to lay out for a catch if he’s done anything the other parts of the game. also Bryce had two penalties on that last drive lmao I forgot.

Same for me on Mariota

Sounds like the end is imminent. Good.

I'm going by the eyeball test. Outside of the Jacksonville game (which wouldn't have been the worst if Etienne didn't have that 70-yard run), we have done a good job of limiting first down runs to three yards or less a lot this season. The falcons game rushing stats look worse than it truly was - I think the falcons got about 60 rushing yards in garbage time when they were down 30. Otherwise, it has mostly been something around 25 carries for the other team for ~100 yards. Last season, it felt like every first down run was going for at least 6 yards.
