Lol it was the 4th quarter in a delay game so I was cooking by then. Until this post I thought it was a running play from where I saw him run until your post. Freaking lol
-
Too early to make quality evaluations. I still think that doing the evaluations week by week vs big picture at the end tends to have wild swings in opinions. I'm fine with a guy that can sit...if he is worth the time. Big upside guys needing work depends on who is around next year for me and what makes them projects. Mental projects are a tough sell. Young and Mac Jones types are a hard pass. The NFL isn't school. Only spend 1 pick regardless. Don't trade up to the first pick. That's my WIP list

Highest rate of incompletions due to WR error

As someone who also deals with large data sets and statistical analysis daily for decades, I 100% agree with your response. -
The problem is he has a bad OL and Shula developing him.... That story sounds familiar.
-
Thats why I don't look at numbers. He looked like dog water most of the game. Another one in the bad column. He's going in the wrong direction. Just like the odds say he would.
-
I dont really think size is his biggest problem. Maybe it affects his confidence.
-
I had this game penciled in as a loss already. This could be the last game of the Young experiment if he looks like he did last game. Its just a matter of time before it will implode.
-
lol I know the multiple turnover day and 70 yards passing mid 4th quarter looked bad while getting blown out by a weak Jags team……but once those late garbage numbers dropped into the spreadsheet it wasn’t that bad
-
I want to like Sellers. While the tangible are there the play at this point definitely isnt top qb prospect level. I hope that changes.
-
It's too easy to get caught up in numbers. Trust your eyes.
-
Yeah, expect those opportunities to be gone next week. Those little wheels he ran were money Sunday and we got nothing out of it. That would be the first thing if I am AZ I make sure I got a handle on.

Is Tepper going to clean the house again after this season?
Johnstonny replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea...he gets his QB and sucks again then we're in the same position with a new coach and the cycle continues. I'm prolly the only one that likes Canales offense...just execute it. Heard a stat the D has given up 7 consecutive 200yd rushing games....and what does Evero do, started the season with a 200yd rushing game with a pretty improved D over last year... That is pretty much telling us he absolutely needs to go. -
This would be an interesting one. Jake Delhomme would be a real tough competitor. I can’t count how many times I yelled….NNNNOOOOOOOoooooo what are you do…..oh I mean, heck yeah. Nice one 89. Good job Jake. 89 double or tripled covered downfield seemed to be a good idea after the ball came down lol
-
...also time for names to be added to the list and names removed.

Well I 100% agree you deep dive for any player and create almost any narrative/argument. Thats why at the end of the day, your take when the clock strikes zero is largely the most solid IMO. Was TMac good? Yes. Was XL bad? Yes. The I need to watch the tape first mentality and check out the analytics sites to form an opinion…..gets real squirrely.
-
Watching almost any other NFL QB is painful for Panthers fans. Even if he sucks or is having a bad game you're gonna see flashes of talent that makes you think there might be something to work with there. There's UDFAs forced into action by rashes of injuries that show a higher talent level than Bryce.

hepcat replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
David Tepper can't change who he is. What made him successful in finance is working against him as a football team owner. The atrocious product on the field should equate to bankruptcy but because of NFL revenue sharing and the alternative use of the stadium, he isn't financially impacted by the team being dogshit. So aside from his toxic leadership, there is no monetary gain for him to build a winner anymore. Panthers fans are truly f*cked. -
This is why I wanted Spencer Rattler sure maybe he isn't that good but he's got a cannon. Honestly? is it crazy to trade for him after this season when the Saints draft a new QB and we have a proper Defense heavy draft?
-
Feels about right. Syncs up. XL being horrible doesn’t give him a multiplier. On WRs - no foot down - 4th and 1 - you pick on Bryce -opening over throw - under throw to Renfrow -pushed out of bounds to Renfrow - hospital ball to Renfrow - underthrow to TMac - INT to the S On nobody - Saunders 50/50 - TMac in the endzone That’s 11 of them. Not sure what I would do with the Dowdle ball. Can’t remember the others off the top

you just "stepped out of bounds" with this one -
I never needed stats to tell me how a player is doing. I watch every snap and if they have more bad plays than good plays that is all I need to see. Young has more bad than he has good, by a wide margin. He was going to need to overcome an overwhelming size disadvantage coming into the league. He had to lead a dysfunctional, talentless team and turn it around. He had no chance and somehow the FO overlooked all of that. The fact that the odds of it being remotely successful were 1000:1 is all the reason you need. Tepper made his fortune taking gambles like this but that is in finance, you don't do that in football.

Ty for posting this. People who have been paying attention can see Canales' fingerprints all over Bryce this season. Last season Bryce would be 15 yards deep at the top of his drop. This game he was a consistent 7-10 yards. The big takeaway for me is that DC seems to have simplified the game for Bryce. I noticed that BY9 only operated one half of the field. When the ball is on the outside hash (short side), his game is geared more to the boundary. Multiple patterns and deep outside shots. When the ball is placed on the inside hash (wide side), it's virtually all in-breaking or smoke routes and\or deep shots. Most of his over the middle passes are executed from a deep drop. I really do not think he can see the field. I think DC has tried to mitigate it as best he can, but there simply are physical limitations that cannot be ignored in this league. I do not think he can execute fully, DC's offense. I think DC is frustrated and damn near over the BY9 era.

If the other guy didn't try to have someone murdered, Xavier Legette would easily be the worst draft pick this franchise has ever spent on a WR.
