Processing Blue: immediate draft needs
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's a hard player to rank, cause he is a young NT. I do see his abilities to branch out among the DL. That's the only way for him to land in the 1st, some team has to believe he's got the stuff to play DE or T3.... I just don't see using 19 on him, I feel there should be around 7 players just ranked higher than him for the Panthers team. ___________________________________________________________________ Now you are a roster nut like me. Im tossing this into fire, I think a good move is to trade UP, yes rare. Just the roster #s tell me 5 rookies and no more than 2 starters will make the team. I feel 5 is magic number. QB- 2 BY, Pickett RB- 3 Chubba, Brooks(pls), etienne TE- 4 Sanders, Temble, Evans, Draft pick/major/franks/UDFA OL- 10 Walker, Lewis, Fortner, Hunt, Motown, Zavailla, Samac, Stone, Draft pick, Draft pick/Charles/carter WR- 6 Tmac, XL, Coker, Metch, Horn, Tremay offense= 25 with 3 draft picks DL- 6 Brown, Brown, Wharton, Ray, Cam, Hunter/draft pick Ed- 5 Phillips, Nic, Prince, Jones, ST/incoom/hampton ILB- 5 Lloyd, Wallace, Bam, Claud, draft pick CB- 5 Horn, Jackson, Thor, Evans, draft pick/CSN/UDFA SS- 4 Scott, More, Ramsom, Sim Defense = 25 with 2 picks ST = known 3+o+d = 53 roster SO I see only room for 5-6 with factoring in UDFA pool. That tells me to trade up! Bonus the 1st+3rd gets in front of TB yucs. Then use one of the 5ths+2nd to draft another target. That's your two starters and use the 4th, 5th and 6th for the development OTs and what ever the best player are at the pick/DB. The last couple years they have added 2-3 UDFA each year, maybe the same this year too. Soooooooo Im normally 95% trade back, but above made me change my mind. I do not want to waive 5th rounder, I feel thats high with players on the bench. ?? There's waiver claims too, they have done that each year. -
Big game tonight. Please send the annoying ass bandwagon New York fans home sad
-
I love kayden McDonald. He is a true nose tackle that makes play which we need. Grabbing a LB in the next round is a scenario that plays out in my mocks most of the time.
-
Like I said. Gotta take him in the first round if you like him that much.
-
I heard a rumor they were actually looking at Trevin at some big nickel packages. Not saying it will work out but they may try him there some in camp.

Charlotte Hornets Offseason Moves

You can make the salaries work with Josh Green, Grant, Salaum, Tre Mann. Then throw in some/all of those firsts. -
I have kind of settled on Golday if we stay at 51.
- Today

Unless we trade up from our 2nd, Hill Jr./CJ Allen will likely be gone if we don't go ILB in 1... Rodriguez could end up going high as well, but regardless, him, Golday, Louis, Trotter, & Lawson are who I'd have my eyes on for us. I firmly believe we are trying to find that guy next to Lloyd. It still is a very prominent need and you can get a plug-in starter with at least the top 7-8 of these guys, ahead of Trevin.

One thing everyone can agree on. Will Wade is a slime ball
-
They have their own pick, they have Dallas's pick (1-2 protection), and Miami's pick (1-14 protection) Miami's pick converts to an unprotected 2028 pick if they are in the lottery for 2027 draft.

I think most would be happy with that outcome

I agree, putting a player that will demand double teams next to DB can only be a good thing -

Personally, I'm more than okay taking McDonald at 19 without hesitation if he's the best IDL available. Pro days aren't an indicator of NFL success, but this guy just destroyed his yesterday at OSU. He is a true odd front NT that can stuff the run and if the old adage of building/winning starts with the trenches, he fits the mold. I would prefer a trade back to get more picks and still select him, but we need a dance partner. My board right now at 19 is: Freeling Thienemann ESW McDonald Miller -
The problem would be making the salaries work so we would have to involve another team
-
Looks like there's a good chance it's Billy Donovan
-
Wade's a POS, but also partially on State. You get in bed with a whore, don't be surprised when they do whore things.
-
We need to make LB our biggest position of strength. Again. We aren't the Panthers we should be when we don't have the best linebacking corps in the league.
-
They are looking hard at these linebackers. I think they clearly want one early in the draft. I. Hoping Kayden Mcdonald in the first and Hill Jr, Rodriguez, or Golday in the 2nd.
-
One of their comps for Chandler Rivers was Richard Marshall

They were spot on, its got to be DT or S. For me it's 1a. DT or S and 1b. LB -
He did state so dirty. Fired by lsu for recruitment violations and then goes right back to them

Yep, officially heading to LSU. NCSU is a stepping stone program. It's a job you take to try to set yourself up to get the job you actually want. It is what it is.
