A question no one is asking about Bryce and The Panthers
csx replied to Day1PanthersFan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel like everyone is asking this. He had a no trade clause so he wanted to go to San Fran. -
How many Qbs can you name better than Bryce Young?
TLGPanthersFan replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Considering he is ranked near the bottom of the league even after this game. There are at least 30. -

There really can't be 20 better...

You have to restock somehow. And you can’t pay everybody. By the time the WRs and QB are due for the big money you need to have a way figured that the OL can have some rookie contracts to offset that.
-
Also completely unrelated. I don't know what it is, but I really don't like the old North Star scheme that the Wild used last night. The green and yellow scheme is probably my favorite color scheme in all of sports. (eg. Packers, Oakland A's). I know that North Stars look is a classic, but man its ugly. I don't know how they messed it up. I guess it's kinda like the Kings purple and yellow uniforms they wore ages ago. Maybe these colors just aren't meant for hockey lol. Anyways, here's wonderwall.
-
If the Panthers were a better team this season, Rico would rightly be in the MVP conversation.
-
We definately need to be drafting OL. None in the last 2 years. You should draft linemen every year on both sides of the ball.
-
If history is any guide, whether it's a game or a season, Bryce turns it up a level towards the end. He's like Seabiscuit (an undersized racehorse, go figure); he just needs to be neck and neck with his opponent on the home stretch, and then he'll lead the team to victory. So if that's the kind of player he is, then he needs to over-perform now. Setting franchise records is cool and all, but I think we all know he's not the kind of QB who's going to have us up by 2 or 3 scores at any point during the game. So if he's a closer, and that's his identity, then in order for Bryce to be considered our QB of the future, an outcome like your first scenario is what we have to see now.
-
To me it isn’t even about the playoffs. If things go well, maybe the playoffs happen but it isn’t the primary goal for me. Getting proof one way or the other on this QB is the biggest prize we could win. If we don’t get that, we have a bad offseason coming up.

Have not seen elsewhere but Rico called that screen https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1991209107819311399?s=19

Hubbard says he might have rushed back

Agree with everything. But, yeah I'll take the committee over the top draft pick. The top draft pick RB almost never pans out. It's early but Ashton Jeanty looks pedestrian. Bijan Robinson is good, but was he really worth that pick? Gibbs and Taylor are good but Gibbs is part of a tandem and has Taylor even been on a winning team? I'm just not sure its a formula that works particularly well. When the Eagles signed Saquon in FA they already knew that he was that guy at the NFL level. -

I mean it's been stated he is playing like a top 10 LT. I'd keep him there. -

I think Hunt has an out after next year so we need to draft a RG to learn under him. -

I cannot remember about Lewis but I am sure Hunt is here for 3 more years regardless because of the structure of the contract. Ill look it up my meeting -

Very much so, IMO it's going to be a must for Morgan to hit it big in the next 2 drafts. I think if he can fill the roster with good offensive linemen, we can afford to lose Lewis and Hunt down the line. Icky will be a cornerstone, we need to keep Mays and Christensen and find a new RT in the draft to replace Moton when his contract is up. -

They definitely keep us in the game for most part -
I still think he would be an all pro RT or guard.

Worrying about paying your good draft picks is a waste of worry.

DaveThePanther2008 started following Remaining Schedule
-
So we have a pretty tough schedule for the remainder of the season. I believe I saw where it's the toughest remaining schedule in the league. To even think about the playoffs we IMO have to, at minimum, win three of the remaining six. 49ers - We will have to play an amazing game to win this one. We are down to backups at LB (at least for now) and Kittle is probably going to have a big day. CMC must not go off on us. PFF had a pregame analysis and actually the two guys running the show were split on who wins. They even said it was disrespectful to the Panthers to be 7pt underdog. Evero is going to have to have a great gameplan. I'm on the fence but this game is in SF and I think we lose. Rams - We're at home that is about the only advantage I see in this game. LA is one of the best offenses in the league and I just don't think we have the firepower to beat them. The only way we win is if we can control the clock and keep LA's offense off the field. Saints - We have to go into this game on a mission. WE HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME. Hopefully, Canales has a better gameplan and we win. This is a very winnable game. TB x 2 - The only chance, IMO, of winning the NFCS is we have to win both games. Many talking heads say TB is faltering some and can be had. By week 15 and 17 we should be hitting on all cylinders. If we win, it's going to have to be a pretty mistake free. Seahawks - they have a very tough defense, and I think we get shut down. Our only hope is to pressure Darnold into mistakes like he did this past weekend with 4 INTs. As with the Rams we are going to have to keep this a low scoring game. My hope is 49ers- Win Rams - Loss Saints - Win Bucs@Home - Win Seattle - Loss Bucs@TB - Loss 9-8 Record My Fear 49ers-Loss Rams-Loss Saints-Win Bucs@home - Loss Seahawks - Loss Bucs@TB - Loss 7-10 record

With Motons deal (stupid), Hunt, Lewis and Mayes and Icky upcoming our line is going to be the most expensive again in the nfl. Its going to be an interesting snap shot if this type of team building works. -
We have an easy out after this season with marginal dead cap. Could be smart given the situation and RB landscape. This part isn’t at you—but in general: None of these guys are world beaters — sure they have been great for us at times but I just hope we don’t get this emotional investment paired with financials. I don’t think we need to teget all antsy about keeping Dowdle when he’ll be 28 next year. I don’t mind just continuously taking a stab in the late rounds every year on one. We should not be investing in one guy in particular when they’re not really a game breaker. See: Sanders, Hubbard, etc. I’d say heck yes, take a shot at a guy high up if you’re convinced you’ve landed a Gibbs or Taylor level, but otherwise, don’t invest, don’t get emotional about a 3-4 game stretch. Reset and see what type of committee you can construct with fresh legs.

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
mrcompletely11 replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
yikes The biggest issue beyond Sellers’ control has been South Carolina’s pass protection. Entering this weekend, Sellers ranks as the second-most pressured Power 4 starter (139 times), behind only Texas’ Arch Manning. The difference? Manning has faced one of the highest blitz rates of any quarterback in college football; Sellers is among the least-blitzed QBs.
