  1. Past hour
  2. If we are going to obsess over ex-Panthers, here is a good one from the ESPN poll of NFL execs and personnel guys, this is the outside top 10 list. Just like CMC, he is who we thought he was. It's amazing that so many people get fanboy syndrome for these guys assuming it is the team holding them back. That's the minority of the cases in our history. It's basically poker "bad beat" syndrome. How soon we forget the reverse, all the guys we let go that tanked hard afterward.
  3. I think the leash will be short, regardless, if he has another "comfortably" losing season. By that I mean, not really ever a threat to be 9-7. People forget that Tepper's track record is getting losing HC's out of here ASAP. The chances of him stomaching more than 3 losing seasons is almost zero.
  4. I don't think that Tepper would put Canales on a short leash much less a super short one for 2026, in regards to QB that is. I get the feeling that Tepper is learning that patience is necessary in this game and that allowing DC to finally get his guy and put him on a super short leash that very year makes little sense and is a recipe for continued wheel spinning. He'd at least wait until 2027, with 2028 being the cutoff. This is not to say that if the entire team looks like sh¡t this season that Canales and Morgan won't be canned or on a short leash in 2026. That could be considered "reasonable."
  5. Some of you guys already know this. I know you know, but you're trying to make CMC out to be a problem child. That's far from the truth. Why can't you say something like,"Good for Christian," or just don't say anything if you hate him that bad? We're supposed to be a smart fan base, right...?
  6. It's not an "eternity," and plenty of NFL guys don't buy a spread like that unless they're trying to settle down roots. McCaffrey is not a dumb guy. Actually, the entire family seems smart if not practical. He wasn't out there flossing it up, he was planning to retire in Charlotte based upon what the FO was telling him and the vibes they were putting out.
  7. he didnt buy the house in 2020 he wasnt traded in 2022 whats the wrong part of my post?
  8. Today
  9. I think if DC wins 5ish games this season he probably will get a chance to get his guy in but will be on a super short leash in 2026, which all things considered is pretty reasonable
  10. he bought the house in 2020 and was traded in 2022. Thats an eternity in the nfl
  11. That's reasonable if that's how you decide to look at it. Me? He seemed like a cool enough guy (just like other NFLers), so it's nice to hear about them succeeding in life beyond football.
  12. i don't know...i'm kind of done with him. if he retires and comes back here and hangs around, cool. if not. i don't know. he's playing for another team, if they're with another team, i got no use for them. they are out of my orbit.
  13. I’d be surprised if Canales didn’t get a chance to handpick a QB before getting the can. But this is Tepper so yeah you’re probably right. Start out 1-3 and Tepper might fire him lol
  14. We weren't talking about that. Any reasonable and honest fan knows that if they had told him straight-op that they were trading him, that he wouldn't bought that big mansion here. He wasn't mad about the money about his first contract, he was upset about the lies when it came time to renew.
  15. The FO made him the highest paid running back in league history the first go around before we even had a starting QB in place and he started getting nagging injuries from there. This revisionist history that he was treated poorly here is outrageous.
  16. more depth signings Hurricanes Sign Noel Gunler and Gavin Bayreuther for Team Depth
  17. Rossi and management are at an impasse, would love to see the Canes do the offer sheet or get him with sign and trade
  18. The bad part is the pivot from Bryce could result in another coaching change, IMO. If we dive into another one of those, I think the downward trend will actually steepen.
  19. I ain't paying Garrett Wilson top money either. He'd get a step below top money at this point. Deebo shouldn't be in any conversation based on contract alone. I just don't know that having another receiver will bring the desired result, as much as it will muddy the picture as to who's starting. Bryce likes to spread the ball around, which is a good thing in my opinion, but there's only one ball. I mean, I certainly wouldn't cry about another receiver on a value deal, but I don't see it as a priority.
  20. Seriously, fug him. I fuging hate that guy. I wish him the absolute worst. fuging bitch. when he dies, I may use that findagrave site just so I can go piss on it.
  21. Congrats to him. Glad mom and child are healthy. When does training camp start?
  22. For me… it’s still on sight with Mr Clete “Bronco fan” Blakeman.
  23. Still hurt the only time we made it to the NFC Champioship game we had a dilapidated team that pretty much had no chance against the Seahawks. 2005 still hurts. That team was going to the Super Bowl then Delhomme Delhommed
  24. I'm not going to go so far as to say his time in Raleigh was garbage because he had some big moments, and he never backed down from anyone. Matter of fact, he came to the defense of more than a few Canes players when no one else did. Do I think his contract was too big- yes. Do I think his defense got worse over the years- yes. Do I think he should have stayed- no. But I cannot write the guy off as a complete waste and bad-mouth him out the door. He admits to the mistakes he made and I think the small language barrier takes some of his words out of context. We're better than that.
