  1. Past hour
  2. This was nice to see a no-call on, though. It should have been holding the stick (not called), and then Boston fans wanted a call for roughing or boarding.
  3. Yep. Nylander, Matthews and Marner got into it on the bench during game 3. Nylander, before last night, hadn't scored in 14 games or something ridiculous.
  4. No practice today. Media availabilities in an hour. I assume they practice before travel tomorrow.
  5. I don't know if he needed a surgeon back there. The gunslinger aspect aids WRs too. Think he just needed a more pass happy O. I mean, imagine if he got the target % Brandon Marshall or Andre Johnson or Calvin were getting in their primes. Bigger target difference between 89 and some other WRs from that era. I mean, you get to the point, 89 was rounding down to 100 targets and some were rounding up to near almost 200 a season.
  6. the national/canada hockey media are a bunch of fuging clowns when it comes to reporting about the canes, why does any canes fan still even read into any of that crap to any degree?
  7. Oh yeah the QB is huge in this stuff. Imagine what Smitty could have done with a surgeon back there. And some more offensive minded head coaches. It was always run heavy. He was one of the best I ever saw and people didn’t know who he was outside of Carolina, for the longest time.
  8. For sure, any college scout that touted Bryce Young as worth the first overall pick, needs to be gone. I don’t think the college scouts are so much the issue, I think it is the minds of the decision makers that have the most influence. If this draft produces, and Morgan was really in charge, maybe Tepper will develop some respect and stay back and let people work.
  9. Today
  10. I just am not aware of regimens that offer increased velocity which is the biggest weakness I can see in Young (that needs addressing right now). Is it possible to do? Who has done it that we can see as an example? I guess I am saying before I believe weights will give him added zip on the ball, I would want proof that it works. I think weight room would help him not be pulled down by two fingers, even if they are big strong DL fingers. They are still fingers controlling 185 lbs. So that needs to be addressed but it is a secondary issue behind his footwork and ball velocity. It might help too, in allowing him to retain some velocity while not putting 100% effort into throws. Which should help his ‘deep’ ball. I agree they can’t fix his footwork on those pistol or gun snaps where he slowly goes backwards and does the tippy toe thing. Maybe putting him under center and taking the option of that type of drop away from him, forcing him into the classic under center style. Drop and plant and throw. Maybe that would help get around it.
  11. Okay and? Legette's career likely won't be with just one QB if Bryce doesn't improve.
  12. Yeah I don't know who will be the best, and I can assure anyone that hype will not make them the best. Legette will play with a decent QB (not saying that it's going to be Young) and will be playing amid decent weapons---NFL-caliber receivers and what looks to be a decent O-line. Circumstances do make a difference. Honestly, you had so many guys this year who could turn out being the best of the class. You don't earn that honor during the draft.
  13. Marty always brought in at least 1 franchise player every draft. We've been struggling to even bring in bottom of the roster draft talent since the fhule/shitterer combo
  14. It actually was and that was with Ovechkin not even attempting to play hockey.
  15. Yep playoffs stats don't count towards that! He had 0 goals 0 assists for 0 points in the Rags series and it wasn't because they took him out of the game he took himself out..... 5 shots on goal 8 shot attempts IN FOUR GAMES.
  16. Their series was a lot closer than people think. Some 1 goal games. They just have the overall talent. we do.
  17. Harrison played in the big ten and was a no show against Michigan, so he's a wash. This guy was the playmaker for an offense that with out him wouldn't have scored any points last year, like us. Nabors is the best in the draft, but i'd say he's second. Both Washington guys were great, but not singularity and they had a great QB and didn't play against good defenses outside of Oregon.
  18. I actually can’t stop laughing. It’s literally the equivalent of this meme… hahahahahaha
  19. Notice those WRs you mention had quality QBs throwing them the ball.
  20. He didn’t care about the playoffs. He just cares about getting 895 goals. If he was skating at full speed he could have easily covered the back door there.
  21. you are correct, it's too early to judge. one thing that's interesting to think about is, we have have a pretty good idea of what dan is looking for and that vision is a bit more clear in the draft. it's kind of these ferocious guys that have that fight or that dawg in them. some have a lot of natural talent, but are a bit unrefined and untuned, but they play with a lot of aggression. and we can see that he's trying to get us back to a point where no matter what we did, we were going to be putting up a fight. i think both he and canales have that in mind, but more morgan in the design and he got canales in to get that fight in them tuned and refined and channeled where it needs to go. looking back at the past couple regimes...rhule, reich, fitt...especially fitt...what was the plan? what was their vision of the panthers? what did they have in mind? i don't think i know. i don't think they knew.
  22. He wasn't even half assing it he was literally gliding and making zero effort to play
  23. I totally missed that. wtf was he even doing? The dude should just fuging retire(or not if you’re a canes fan).
  24. That's unfair. It might be a different take, but it isn't like he's doing it with zero research. He gives his reasons. It would be different if he was saying something so boldly without backing up why he felt that way. And you just never really know. Great WRs come from every round nowadays. Is it really that outrageous to think Legette could be the best one? Just last year arguably the 2 best rookie WRs were Nacua (5th round) and pre-injury Dell (3rd round). Amon-Ra went 4th and he'd be the best WR in his class if not for Chase.
  25. The odds of Canales or anyone completely fixing his mechanics and footwork in one offseason are low let's just be honest about that. His mechanics are what they are because he's been doing things this way since high school to compensate for his height. In terms of his arm we will have to agree to disagree. In the short term adding any level of muscle would certainly help more than not given the situation. We cannot change his height. But even Scott Fitterer talked about getting him into the weight room. He's long gone.
  26. This is the nothing burger of all nothing burgers it's literally just the NHL media trying to create playoff drama for the Canes.... Rod wants to be here..... the CANES WANT ROD HERE. RBA has lived in Raleigh since he retired from playing he loves it here.... https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/40070861/hurricanes-brindamour-feels-really-good-reaching-new-deal
