  1. A coinflip's chance that you'll get a good QB at #1 is decent odds I'd say. I'm a little surprised it's that high. You have record holders and multiple super bowl appearances in that list too. I'd love to know the percentage of rookie QBs that make it relative to other positions, that's what will tell you their draft value. I feel like there's only 2-3 noteworthy guys who come out of each class at most.
  2. Slater is a pro and to not have a project at LT would be tremendous for the team rn
  3. The tunnel club is dope they should bring those to other sports
  4. If we land Fields now hats off to the poker players in the front office for turning Mac Jones into a top 3 pick.
  5. I'll feel better about how long this is going to last if we can at least close the book on a need coming out of this draft. QBs are by far the riskiest and we just traded away picks for one, so it'll be wait and see. If they do go QB my hope is that this was an impressive smokescreen and they were secretly in love with whoever fell our way all along.
  6. Yeah they also said Teddy was a franchise QB and "Teddy is our quarterback" as recently as a month ago. Agree with your point but taking coachspeak from this staff at face value is ill advised.
  7. He's like Kevin Durant but not good. You toss a ball around for millions of dollars bro why are are you in comments arguing with randos.
  8. I agree with this I just worry Bridgeburner's presence brings bad vibes to the team when we need Darnold to take the reigns. Call it the Steve Smith reasoning.
  9. So who had "Trade QB to New Orleans" on their Carolina Panthers bingo card
  10. Prime sports journalism right here. My takeaways: - Surprised that they decided against trading up early on, good insight into Fitter’s mentality. - I get the impression that they aren’t interested in Lance at 8. - They aren’t completely sold on Fields either but haven’t ruled him out and they don’t expect him to fall anyway. He’ll be a game time decision, and with Darnold they may well pass on him for a top non-QB even if he is there.
  11. They made it clear that a pass catching TE was a priority. A lot of people seemed to write that off once Arnold was signed but Pitts is the ideal prospect in that regard.
  12. 100%. And I believe Pitts is the best player in this draft. LT has plagued this team for too long. One solid year from Oher and we went to the Super Bowl 15-1. Deep OT classes don't happen much and we're sitting pretty in this one. We have to strike now.
  13. I’m going to be over the moon if we get either. I’d be perfectly happy with Slater too, but Pitts and Sewell are the type of prospects that we have no business having a chance at.
  14. I may end up regretting this but I don’t want Lance anymore. Don’t see him as a sure enough bet over Darnold to justify the #8.
  15. Yep. The organization and the fans have made it clear that he’s no longer welcome here. Brought that on himself too. The coaches were being supportive until he threw them under the bus. Also the article in the OP is 100% speculation based on Denver inquiring earlier and Houston for obvious reasons, but I agree with Sizzlebuzz that there’s no need for Teddy with Tyrod on the Texans.
  16. We're a lot more talented than the Jets. Just compare Teddy's season to Darnold's last year with Robby and the gap quickly starts to close.
  17. This makes him sound down on it but he said the Jets didn't develop Darnold and spoke highly of their chemistry together in the same interview.
  18. Higher ceiling than Teddy and we got him cheap. I'm all for it. Draft Sewell or Pitts and I'm stoked.
  19. Anyone but the damn Sixers in the first round. Philly is like built to destroy us. Our worst matchup in the league.
  20. For me it's that he's not even the veteran presence he's made out to be. I could forgive him underwhelming on the field if he was at least a good role model for the younger guys. He was the opposite more often than not.
  21. He'll be back for the playoffs no doubt. The guys have really stepped up.
  22. Would have been better off just admitting to looking for sex and denying forcing anybody. This is just embarassing
  23. As with many employers there is no due process in the NFL. The harsh truth is that this all comes down to optics and from an outside perspective this is a bigger mess than Roethlisberger or Kobe, who got the benefit of doubt in a lot of coverage due to the questions around consent in their cases. We’re looking at a possible serial offender here. This can’t be swept under the rug as a one off incident or a drunken mistake.
