I might be drinking the koolaid on this..
DaveThePanther2008 replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Smith had all the tools for a good LBer. It appears some good coaching was all he needed. It's sweet when a 4th round project pick starts to show he belongs before the end of his first preseason. -
Predict the initial 53 man roster for 2022
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think you might see Barnes or Hayes beat STO out. Also I think because Tecklenburg can play multiple positions he might make it. I do hope we pick up a couple of O-line vets. -
Aqib Talib is a HORRIBLE HUMAN WHO I HOPE GOES TO HELL
DaveThePanther2008 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
100% he may not have pulled the trigger but started the whole damn thing. Worst part the coach wasn't the one who made the call. It was the referee. What a sorry excuse for a role model. You are coaching kids and this is how you freaking act. I hope they lock him up for a long time. -
So much for Pleasants. Cut yesterday.

Other Week 2 Preseason games
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's a beast after the catch. At least two times it took 1/2 the defense to get him down. Nice pickup. -
I think the biggest part of this is we have RECEIVED calls about him. Not that we are shopping him. Maybe we get a good LB or DT in return.

True. Win the games we should win and win our division and we'll be in good shape. Baker doesn't have to be Burrow. He just has to run this team with confidence (something Sam never did) and get the ball to his playmakers. We have quite a few of them. The defense needs to stay healthy and the front office should be on the prowl for players that can shore up a group that needs it.

Like I said. That is what makes the NFL so great. The Cap makes teams lose players they can't afford and other team the chance to bring in new players. If you bring in the right players and draft well and every team (the majority) believe that they can compete. Barring major injuries and a couple of breaks you can will it all.

Being optimistic is having the belief that if things go right we could make the playoffs. We have studs on both sides of the ball and our team can cause problems for anyone. Barring injury and bad play calling this team could make the playoff. Once in the playoffs it's game on. Being realistic (pessimistic) is basing everything you know off of last season. Every team in the NFL changes and though some teams reload some may actually be worse than the previous season. They were still a playoff team so a realistic (pessimistic) as I like to call them. Says we are 100% going to lose because they were a playoff or Super Bowl team. That mentality is just as bad as being optimistic. The NFL is probably the best sport that every new season is a chance to make the playoffs. Pick up the right free agents, draft well and get a couple of breaks. 2003 Carolina Panthers are a prime example. WE got a couple of breaks, stayed healthy and played good football. No one had us going to the Super Bowl at the beginning of 2003. Not with Rodney Peete at the helm. Another example of my point is AFC Champions Cincinnati Bengals. They were +15000 to go to the Super Bowl at the start of the 2021 preseason. Based on the realistic (pessimistic) person they should have never been there because Vegas said so. It comes down to what kind of fan you are. I have always been and will always be optimistic right up to the game where we are mathematically eliminated. Take 2004 (i believe) injuries destroyed our season. Yet Carolina battled all season and it came down to the last week where we could have made the playoffs. A pessimistic fan (and there were plenty) gave up when we started so poorly. It depends on who you are. Pessimistic or Optimistic. Neither is right nor neither is wrong. I AM 100% Optimistic

As much as I would love to see him released. If he has eligibility I'd rather see him on the PS as an emergency. Than again, if we have to resort to PJ our season is toast and so is Rhule.
-
Well it's about time. It was clear as day that Mayfield was the best QB on the roster. Had we had a normal preseason and our QB room was Mayfield, Darnold, Corral and PJ bringing up the rear. We could have given the rookie a little more Reps. But No, we had to play this charade that Darnold was equal to Baker.
-
If we stay healthy our starting line up is quite good. Offensively, CMC has to stay healthy. Mayfield is only going to get better as he learns this offense. Defensively if our DL can stop the run our DBs are going to reinvent "Thieves Avenue" And Rhule needs to let McAdoo and Snow run the team and just stay out of their way. Sadly, I don't see that happening.

How Many of Rhule's Bear-Owls make the final 53?
DaveThePanther2008 replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed for the most part. If they choose someone over Barnes I believe he was slip through waivers and make the PS, at least initially. -
Best guess WR And Secondary breakdown..
DaveThePanther2008 replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
I know we just signed Roberts because he is a great return man but honestly I think we could part ways with him and give the job to Shi. Smith. He looks electric in the return game. He's one of those players you hold your breath on when he has the ball. One miscue or a small opening and he could take it to the house. -
Sadly I think Jordan is going to be safe because he (supposedly) is a good run blocker and we'll probably be run heavy this year. As far as veterans go. Erving and Daley. Kenny Robinson from the Safety position?

What if @4Corners never joined the huddle. -
I get the so called QB battle between Darnold and Mayfield at least at the beginning of training camp. It's been obvious for weeks that Mayfield is the better option. Rhule should have named Mayfield the starter and Darnold back up. Corral should have been 3rd on the depth chart and given more Reps than he has seen. What would Rhule have done if Mayfield goes down and Darnold stinks up the place. Which probably will happen. Rhule is now force to either get a veteran off the wire or put a rookie in that has seen little to no reps. Absolutely makes no sense.

Why was Josh Norman a one hit wonder?

This is probably the greatest interception I've seen in a tight game. kind of grainy but what an interception. -

When you have a head coach like we do sometimes you wish you could turn the clock back and do something different. That said, it is only a conversation about how good they are doing. They both have big ties to the Carolina Panthers and something other than the 500 topics on "Fire Rhule" -

I found it hilarious he said he didn't know who I was. My poo count is full of his SH*T lol. Like you, he poo'd every post for like a year. I get if you don't like the content of my post and feel the need to drop a turd but every comment regardless what the comment was and is childish. -

Sure you do. You spent over a year pooing the majority of my comments. You are a child. It's preseason and many people post different topics. If you don't like a topic no need to say anything. -
Yeah, I am starting to believe the chain of command on this team is screwed up. We know that Rhule has more say than most HCs. I agree most GMs would have put their foot down over the PJ over MC I'm not surprised that Tepper didn't put his foot down on this matter too.
