  1. I definitely think we will get a O-line and LB. I think the biggest question is will they fit our scheme. Fitterer has been a master with the draft but I am not so keen on his FA decisions. Too many moves that didn't pan out.
  2. As long as Rhule doesn't use Temple and Baylor as his pipeline for professional players, I think Rhule has just as good an opportunity to be good as Salah.
  3. I don't think there is a starting position available so he'll have to accept the backup if he wants a check. I also agree that it might be more of a distraction than it would be worth.
  4. They all had their moments but Jones IMO was the most impressive. Not knocking any of the others. I know it was only preseason but the hatred for Jones before the draft was so unwarranted. So many were claiming Jones was a product of the Alabama system and wasn't athletic enough to be drafted in round 1.
  5. IMO Jones was the best looking QB. I was pulling for Cam but you could tell Jones looked better. Lawrence may end up being the best of this class but I think Jones showed that he'll be around for awhile. I do want to bring up that many didn't want Jones because he was not as athletic as Lance, Wilson or Fields. I think he shows he has a great chance to be a long time starter.
  6. We're talking PJ Walker as our back-up. Cam in his sleep is better than PJ. If Cam agreed to get vaccinated I would rather have him as a backup than PJ and it isn't close.
  7. It's not something we should be happy about. PJ is terrible and apparently Rhule thinks Grier was worse. Not much to brag about, there GM FamOstinato
  8. I don't expect too many surprises. I am more interested in seeing who becomes available from other teams. I am sure we have a high interest in LB and OT.
  9. I know in the Hurney days draft picks for the most part were always apart of the 53. Hurney never wanted to admit he was wrong about a player.
  10. Was a Baltimore Colts fan. Unitas my childhood hero. I stopped following them when Irsay pulled the plug and disappeared into the night in '84. Jumped on the Giant bandwagon because LT (a Tarheel) was in NY. Stayed a Giant fan until we got our beloved Panthers. Been a true loyal fan since. More downs than up but still love them.
  11. The negativity in here is growing so bad that I feel the ooze from underneath. We need Ghostbusters **hears the lyrics "your love keeps lifting me higher and higher"
  12. If we could only be on the Jets Forum as Luvu, Darnold and Anderson all make the Pro Bowl. EPIC MELTDOWN..... MUSHROOM CLOUD OVER NYC
  13. I guess that's the good thing about working overseas. I am picking up a Blue Burns jersey tomorrow. These Indians here are amazing at creating identical Jerseys. Probably the same people that make them for $400.00.
  14. Kind of hard when you have studs like CMC, Burns and Chinn.
  15. i'd be OK with it as well, but IMO he's going to be better than A. Smith. Darnold just needs to trust himself and this team is going to be fine. 2021 will depend on two units if you ask me. One on Offense and One on Defense. Obviously, the O-line is one unit. If our O-line can gel together (whatever group we finally go with) and keep Sam upright we'll score enough points. Linebacker is two. Our linebackers have to make things difficult in the running game. If we can be at least solid at LB, i think our defense is going to be tough to score against. Sam just needs to make the right decisions and let our defense let him get ahead quickly. Getting ahead quickly takes the pressure off him some.
  16. I believe this is correct. When a player is cut teams can go after them, however if we sign them to the practice squad we can protect 4 of them. Is this correct?
  17. This cannot be underestimated. We have a couple of options to make them pay. CMC being the most dangerous. A couple of blitzes that result in CMC breaking away for a good run will make many teams question a blitz. Plus we have DJ who is a WR with a RB mentality. And of course his newest target Arnold.
  18. All fair points but we also weren't running a game planned offense. The offensive line also has a game plans for different kinds pressure teams bring. We also didn't have our best weapon on the field so they didn't have to worry about him. Kind of a wash for me. What gets me is that this place would have imploded of the stats were different and proclaimed Darnold to be a bust.
  19. I wish them safety and health. Katrina was a monster but the damage was multiplied because the levees weren't designed for a Cat 5 Hurricane. Supposely, the levees have been upgraded and the damage won't be as bad. It also appears the Ida is going to the west of N.O. but I hope all are well.
  20. If we are reading between the lines I hope that means that Taylor and Robinson are insignificant injuries and will be back soon.
  21. Agreed. I saw in another post where the OP said Rhule said our starting line would be those that we saw on the field Friday but that was misleading. Rhule said "IF we play the Jets tomorrow that would be our starting 5. We have 2 weeks before that game. Our O-line will be different than what we saw Friday.
  22. If Tremble is the real deal I see little or no reason to hang onto Thomas. We've wasted 3 years waiting for him to develop. Time to cut loose and move on and save some money we can use on OT or LB. I believe if we sign anyone it will be after they clear waivers and it will be a VET OT and possibly a LBer. Of the two I believe we have a better chance of filling the LBer spot with a quailty vet over OT.
  23. I like the zip he puts on the ball but I completely disagree about his accuracy. That's, IMO, his biggest downfall.
  24. Yes, so childish. He does it to all my posts because he disagreed with me on a topic years ago. I just take it with a grain of salt. That's about the only time I get the poo is from the bottom of the barrel trolls on this forum.
