  1. Kind of hard when you have studs like CMC, Burns and Chinn.
  2. i'd be OK with it as well, but IMO he's going to be better than A. Smith. Darnold just needs to trust himself and this team is going to be fine. 2021 will depend on two units if you ask me. One on Offense and One on Defense. Obviously, the O-line is one unit. If our O-line can gel together (whatever group we finally go with) and keep Sam upright we'll score enough points. Linebacker is two. Our linebackers have to make things difficult in the running game. If we can be at least solid at LB, i think our defense is going to be tough to score against. Sam just needs to make the right decisions and let our defense let him get ahead quickly. Getting ahead quickly takes the pressure off him some.
  3. I believe this is correct. When a player is cut teams can go after them, however if we sign them to the practice squad we can protect 4 of them. Is this correct?
  4. This cannot be underestimated. We have a couple of options to make them pay. CMC being the most dangerous. A couple of blitzes that result in CMC breaking away for a good run will make many teams question a blitz. Plus we have DJ who is a WR with a RB mentality. And of course his newest target Arnold.
  5. All fair points but we also weren't running a game planned offense. The offensive line also has a game plans for different kinds pressure teams bring. We also didn't have our best weapon on the field so they didn't have to worry about him. Kind of a wash for me. What gets me is that this place would have imploded of the stats were different and proclaimed Darnold to be a bust.
  6. I wish them safety and health. Katrina was a monster but the damage was multiplied because the levees weren't designed for a Cat 5 Hurricane. Supposely, the levees have been upgraded and the damage won't be as bad. It also appears the Ida is going to the west of N.O. but I hope all are well.
  7. If we are reading between the lines I hope that means that Taylor and Robinson are insignificant injuries and will be back soon.
  8. Agreed. I saw in another post where the OP said Rhule said our starting line would be those that we saw on the field Friday but that was misleading. Rhule said "IF we play the Jets tomorrow that would be our starting 5. We have 2 weeks before that game. Our O-line will be different than what we saw Friday.
  9. If Tremble is the real deal I see little or no reason to hang onto Thomas. We've wasted 3 years waiting for him to develop. Time to cut loose and move on and save some money we can use on OT or LB. I believe if we sign anyone it will be after they clear waivers and it will be a VET OT and possibly a LBer. Of the two I believe we have a better chance of filling the LBer spot with a quailty vet over OT.
  10. I like the zip he puts on the ball but I completely disagree about his accuracy. That's, IMO, his biggest downfall.
  11. Yes, so childish. He does it to all my posts because he disagreed with me on a topic years ago. I just take it with a grain of salt. That's about the only time I get the poo is from the bottom of the barrel trolls on this forum.
  12. I sure the hell hope it is us. I wanted Watson but that is too steep of a price to pay. Especially for a guy who doesn't want to be in Houston and also has all these legal issues that could drag out for years.
  13. I usually see posted in the forum updates on our injured players. Can anyone give me an update on our injured players? Robinson, Smith and Taylor are the ones that come to mind. Appreciate it.
  14. Yes I saw this and no doubt the narrator voice is obnoxious. I think he navigated the offense well and am super excited with a real game plan in place. What seems to be a constant challenge for us is it seems, not always, that we are always scheduled against a new HC game one. We never get the chance to utilize previous years schemes to game plan off of.
  15. I like the early cuts. Get those out that you are 100% sure aren't going to be on the team or PS. Considering we have 18 spots to go and 16 spots for PS. Pretty much everyone but two could be on our final roster and practice squad. Minus the free agents, if any, we pick up.
  16. Considering how bad our secondary was just a year ago this is quite impressive. I really think Taylor is going to be another steal from this draft.
  17. Heart say bring Smitty back just because he would be a beast in this offense. But we need a LT badly and our LB Corps would be sweet with Luke. Luke and Gross
  18. IMO Rhule and Co. were going with their hearts in this last preseason game. I am hoping starting this week we put the best 5 out there. Move Moton to the LT, Daley beside him, Paradis (maybel Elflien)Brown and Christensen is who I would begin the week with.
  19. Absolutely, If he legal woos put him in jail all bets are off.
  20. I'm sticking with Jansen because we need continuity more than youth with our new kicker. Secondly, He solid and let's face it. It's not like he has to make the tackle on the punt team. If we are relying on him for the tackle on the punt team we're screwed. 35 is not old for a LS. If we can't trade Fletcher than make him one of our PS players. We get 16.
  21. I was a bit concerned that they were going to bring him along slowly but after watching him with the starters yesterday. He is going to be a beast his rookie year. I think he is benefitting from being with Brady before. Brady knows what he can do. He, IMO, is the best pick of the draft.
  22. Good god guys. Madden sucked when he first started doing commentary. (go watch A Football Life John Madden) I love his takes and he says some funny things which makes it enjoyable. Give him a chance to grow into this position. He has the gametime mentality and I for one is glad he points out gaffs and mistakes.
  23. I was only able to watch the highlights on Youtube. They showed a quite a few of Darnold getting pressusre. It's hard to agree with antsy. He's stepping up, moving around and trying to find a target downfield before taking a sack or making a bad throw. (highlights showed one) Good coverage? Poor routes? Missed assignments? I don't know. We have to figure this line out. What I did like is that he used all his weapons, Arnold, Hubbard, Marshall, DJ and Anderson. I know this thread is on Darnold but DAMN Marshall is going to have a monster rookie year.
  24. 1-8 15 yds 2 pick 6s and the Huddle Server meltsdown. seriously 9-14 200 yds 2 TDs
  25. Exactly. I used to do work around the house listening to Guess Who's Greatest Hits. I don't know why but when I put them on I stay focused and can work for hours. Different Strokes for Different Folks.
