  1. Y’all the Browns paid him $10m to be traded. He didn’t take a pay cut he’s getting that money.
  2. I'm sure they had issues, might not have been big enough to make it to the sports tabloids though. He had an alcohol related arrest while at OU and certainly pissed off some teammates and coaches with his behavior on and off the field. Baker almost got suspended a few times for generally being a douche.
  3. Jake had as many game winning drives in his first season as a starter for the Panthers than Mayfield has in his entire career so far
  4. Bro Delhomme was fire with the game on the line in the 4th quarter and Mayfield is absolutely garbage with the game on the line it’s the worst comparison ever made
  5. Rivera at least knew how to build a defense. What does Matt Rhule know how to do?
  6. You have no idea man, people are pooing me on this board because I really don't like that guy but I've lived in Austin for 11+ years and I know several people who've met/known the dude personally. There's a reason why he can't stick in one place for long. There's a reason why the Panthers own staff was split on trading for him. There's a reason he has a TON of haters. I just don't know how much evidence people need to see this wasn't that great of an idea. Even at the low low price they got him for, he comes with a ton of baggage that could turn a rough season into an absolute pit of hell. Wish the Panthers had just stuck with Darnold who at least as a person I don't dislike. He's a garbage QB but at least as a person you can just be like oh well, and move on. If Mayfield plays poorly you fall back on the fact he's also a complete douchebag and it really gets your blood boiling, coaches are going to throw him under the bus just like Stefanski, it's going to be ugly. I'm just really sad about what the Panthers have devolved into since Tepper bought the team. It's such a mess and I really don't like that guy. I'm very glad Austin FC beat his sorry ass soccer team too.
  7. I know, they were never going to tank properly. I thought they should have forced Rhule to live or die by Sam Darnold since they traded to get him, and picked up his $19m option despite never playing a down for the team. They hitched their wagon to the guy. Now they realized they f*cked up and were able to buy low on Baker Mayfield who comes to the Panthers with a heap of his own garbage to sort through. It's a mess, and Mayfield honestly makes it more of a mess than if they never had him at all.
  8. Baylor football was going to come back no matter what, too much $$$ in that program to stay down long.
  9. Joe Brady was always going to be a disaster hire due to his lack of experience. The Panthers coaching staff the last 2 seasons was probably had the least amount of collective NFL experience. It took them two 5 win seasons to think oh maybe we should get some more experienced minds in here. That's pretty embarrassing if you ask me. I'm glad a guy like Steve Wilks is back to be an adult in the room but it just too little too late.
  10. Well to be honest Mr. Scot there's a lot to be critical about. The Browns are the Browns, granted, but Mayfield has issues with coaches everywhere he goes. Sweet, sounds exactly like Teddy. No surprise here. If he was a cool dude who didn't always piss people off everywhere he went, he might be viewed more favorably despite his limitations as a QB. But he polarizes a locker room and coaching staff (there were reports the Panthers staff was split on whether to trade for him at all) and that's one of the main reasons no one wanted to trade for him. He hasn't changed anywhere he's been. He's the same brat he's always been. I get why they made the trade and I'm happy they didn't give up a of assets to do it, it's just a sad state of affairs to be at the point we're at right now. I never wanted Mayfield. The Panthers should have never gotten to this point of desperation to be taking in rejects from across the league. I wanted them to suck it up and play Darnold and get Matt Corral on the field even if he wasn't ready. At least tank the right way and get a top 3 draft pick to get a new franchise QB and hopefully a competent coaching staff next year. There are some talented players on the roster, but this haphazardly slapped together team won't work and I think we all know it deep down. If the Panthers magically make the playoffs with Baker Mayfield I'll shut my mouth and never be negative again. But I have a really good sense of these things and I have a feeling it's going to explode in spectacular fashion and the Panthers are a soap opera all season, amidst many losses.
  11. Darnold's problem is between the ears. He has every ounce of physical ability to be a great QB. He's like the anti-Tom Brady.
  12. lol first of all herpcat hahaha! says the guy who still to this day has a username of a qb prospect who will never play for the Panthers that's also spelled incorrectly. Anyway you talk about the guy like he's grown up but he hasn't changed at all. Mayfield perpetuates the UT hate to this day and cries all the freaking time. He has "weighed in" on doing horns down many times over the last year. He was talking trash about Sam Ehlinger even after he reached the pros. It took Sam's Ehlinger's brother dying for Mayfield to act like a normal human to him. Maybe now Mayfield will be more humbled because Cleveland was so eager to replace him by giving up 3 first round picks for an accused sexual predator with dozens of lawsuits pending who likely WON'T EVEN PLAY THIS SEASON and paid $10m to get rid of him. Ok let's be excited about that guy. Steve Smith said it best. "“He wears his emotions on his sleeve. I do, too. I was an emotional player. But the difference between Baker and I is one, I won the triple crown — I led the league in something besides crying.”
  13. we got 2 QBs we know suck and 1 that we don't. Oh no lol let's not hope for playing time for the guy we don't know if he sucks yet lol
  14. I love Steve, he was spot on in his commentary about Faker
  15. The bar for Rhule to keep his job should be making the playoffs. But I'm ready and honestly expecting a 2 win season so the team can be properly blown up and a staff that has an actual plan for success can be brought in.
  16. I wasn't I made several threads about what an awful idea trading for Watson was.
  17. I’d be shocked if Faker isn’t pushed into the QB1 position right away. Darnold is a known commodity on this team. They want to see what Faker can do. We’re screwed either way
  18. 1) Faker is a dramatic crybaby douche. He has talked an exorbitant amount of trash about UT football despite growing up in Austin and had the gall to go to OU. He’s a coward and he will never redeem himself in my eyes for that. 2) He flat out SUCKS. The Browns thought so little of him they were willing to trade 3 first round picks for an accused sexual predator who might not even play this season. They paid $10m to send Faker out the door. They basically gave him away. 3) Even if I’m wrong and Faker looks better than I believe he will, the Panthers are a dumpster fire. Matt Rhule as we all know is not suited to be an NFL head coach. The roster is littered with injury prone star players. David Tepper has no idea what he’s doing football wise. It’s a mess, and Faker is a wildcard to create a mess of drama on this sinking ship. So excuse me if I’m not excited.
  19. I’m not gonna lie, Skip is right. The panthers are the biggest mess in the NFL. Egomaniac owner with zero football team building ability or knowledge, amateur head coach, bullshit QB situation, injury prone star players, and the cherry on top - the ugliest head coaching staff ever assembled. Adding Faker to the mix just added a wildcard of drama and crybaby to an already potentially volatile situation.
  20. Never say never, some team could lose their starter in training camp to an injury, sexual assault arrest, drug trafficking charge, murder for hire plot, the list goes on and on. Darnold could be an option for those teams!
  21. Because he’s an unknown whereas we know Darnold and baker suck
  22. Could happen if Watson gets suspended for a year. And would solidify the pipeline of former star panthers QBs playing for the browns late in their careers
  23. Not personal I just call it like I see it. Everywhere faker has been there has been drama and the panthers will be no different.
