I don’t think anyone thinks Perkins can play with the first unit and succeed. Everyone pointing out the fact he looks better than Plummer with only two practices. I was really pulling for Plummer to figure it out and take Dalton’s spot at QB2. Oh well, there was a reason they brought in Perkins.

Perkins passes were tight and mostly accurate when he had time to throw. Impressed with him only have a couple practices. I think Plummer was looking over his shoulder last night and was straight up awful. Even his touchdown pass looked pretty bad. Perkins should make the practice squad over Plummer.

The good news is our DL starters from last year are now our backup depth. Young DBs have experience under their belt. LB’s are the weak unit now but if the DL does their job they will make the entire back seven better. I think our depth is better than most think and will be amped up for tonight’s game.

Not a big fan of Evero and not sure what all the hype was when he was hired. He plays a bland basic defense that relies on better than average players. I don’t not see hardly any adjustments during games and always playing soft zones. Yea last year, the defense did not allow many yards but yards don’t count against the final score. I would much rather see an aggressive defense. If you get beat, you get beat but the aggressiveness will also give you more sacks and turnovers.

Yes Bryce absolutely SHINED!!! Keep pushing the narrative for other QB needy teams. Miami, LA or whoever come on down and let the Panthers fleece another team for once. Edit: He looked like the same old Bryce, running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

With Bryce at the helm, the rest of the offense was not allowed to develop. After watching all the other QBs (good and bad) the first two weeks, Bryce didn’t look like any of them. He just doesn’t look like a confident person behind center and had to be benched for the betterment of the team. I hoping some other team thinks Bryce was not utilized properly and blaming his failures on the Panthers. This may allow us to get value from a trade. Fingers crossed other teams are listening to the media thinking Bryce still has it.

Have to bench Bryce for the year. Let him sit, watch and learn. He can compete for a qb spot next season. He either makes the team or is cut, no more coddling.

I absolutely agree. We have young players in Leggette, Mingo and Sanders, we have to have someone to distribute the ball to see what we got. The 2:00 drive shows Canales does not have trust in Young. Run plays and short plays to prevent another turnover. I question the last timeout as there was no way we were converting a 3rd and 15.

Is there any chance the Panthers will up Jack Plummer from the practice squad? If Bryce continues to look bad you have to IR Bryce and bring up Jack. Jack looked bad the first couple of preseason games but really caught fire the last game. I actually thought he looked better than Bryce against Buffalo. He at least seems to know where to go on his first read where Bryce has the deer in the headlights look.

I believe this is why they were not afraid to depart with Burns. Burns openly said he was afraid of getting hurt at times meaning he did not play 100%. Brown got paid because he did play 100% even when games were out of reach.
