  1. "you need to bring in a rockstar at OC or be shown the door" That has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard...I hope it's not true, but knowing Tepper, it probably is.
  2. Taylor, Horn, and Henderson is a good set of corners...I believe. We will likely need to let Gilmore and Jackson leave to invest in OL...and I hope that's what we do.
  3. "Why was Sam's 5th year picked up?" He may as well have answered "We don't really understand the NFL game here at Panthers Place, and we really struggle with understanding the salary cap as well. When I met Sam, I just knew that he was going to be a great Panther, and I wanted him to be happy...so we picked up the 5th, no different than giving Robby more money when we didn't need to. Next question."
  4. Not until they can start selling jerseys again.
  5. PSL's never made sense to me, but to some, I'm sure it's nice to go to the exact same seat game in and game out, but the draw simply isn't there for me. Good luck.
  6. "You have a very good chance of being an interim head coach for 8 games next season."
  7. Moton would be the only player that I'd be hesitant about. We are in such a bad place with OL, and it's so necessary to win consistently, trading our only good lineman would be tough to come back from. The rest? I'd like to try to keep Horn and Chinn, but everyone has a price. My hunch is this is mainly swirling around DJ, Burns, and CMC....all of them are available.
  8. I do not buy this, but would love to hear your explanation of why he would do it? NC is an ascending state. Charlotte is an ascending state, most players like living/working here. It's just never made much sense to me to move the team, unless all you care about is being the wealthiest owner in the league, and need a HUGE new stadium to make you feel better about your nether regions.
  9. Interest has been waning for years, sped up by our abysmal ownership change. When Tepper came in, my ears perked up a bit, hoping for a smart owner to finally take over. Couldn't have been more wrong about that. As of now, I'm done. Had no clue what happened yesterday, and couldn't have been happier...same with the previous week.
  10. And not just in the short term...this could have lasting effects. If fans continue to fall away from the team, as they have done since 2016, this will only put that into overdrive. We have now reached "bottom tier team" level in the league. Giants, Jags, Panthers, Jets. We are no different than them any longer.
  11. Yup, he's at a crossroads here. Every single decision he's made since buying the Panthers has been the wrong one, I'm guessing he continues with that trend.
  12. Yea, just saw that other thread...wild. Must mean the team isn't interested in Watson...I guess, or the price tag is just too high. IF that's the case, that makes me nervous.
  13. For the first time that I can recall, until I fired up the computer this morning at work, I had no idea how we played, if we won or lost, who looked good or bad...didn't care at all. Felt great. It was in the 70's in Wilmington and I put out a ton of landscape rock, worked in the yard, burnt my Christmas Tree....great day. Didn't think about the Panthers once. The only time or money I will lend moving forward will be on this website, which I hope the Panthers do not benefit from in the least.
  14. Wow, I had that backwards in my head then.
  15. Agreed. That man has absolutely no idea how to own an NFL team. Absolutely none. If I had been "sold" by Marty Hurney, Ron Rivera, and Matt Rhule, I don't think I could show my face in the building. May as well have bought the Golden Gate from that homeless guy on that last trip to San Fran.
  16. It really is staggering to me that Tepper walked into the building, admitted he knew very little about the "football side of things" and didn't bring in someone proven to help him transition and set the program in the right direction. I mean...that's incredibly stupid.
  17. I'm likely on my way out for a while anyway...as far as being an every game watcher, keeping up with every move the team makes.....but if Rhule is back next season...I'm for sure done. Not that the team will miss me, but I bet there are a LOT more of me out there. Money will tighten up this coming year for most of us, the first line item I will cut will be the Panthers.
  18. I understand your sentiment, football has never been about crowning the best team in the country in October though, it's what makes it so great...you have to finish, although extremely hard. That said, again, he has the best run team in the NFL, with a very long pedigree, along with a veteran franchise QB...and they won as many playoff games in the past 10 years as the panthers have...3. Call it what you may, but that doesn't jump off the page as "great" coach, his winning seasons jump out at me as "good" coach...but that's just me. I put him and Pete Carrol in the same box, good, not great NFL coaches.
