  1. Nah that’s closer to reality regarding his talent. I’d bump him as a late 2nd-3rd because of how much his “intangibles” were loved, and how he played at Bama, but his physical ability is below average in nearly every aspect. There is a reason (and a wise choice btw, can’t hate the strategy) that he didn’t throw at the combine. We get to see why each Sunday.
  2. I don’t feel bad for him at all. He gets cushy media treatment, and hasn’t done anything in the league to earn that yet. No one was feeling bad for Cam when he was out there showing out, whilst being blasted by the media as a crybaby towel wearing thug. I don’t wish him ill or anything, but the kid has been coddled and treated like he can do no wrong by a lot of loud voices…I just don’t understand why I should feel for him.
  3. Gotta ride out the season with Young. If he still looks like Teddy 2 Gloves-lite…then I’m heavily considering trading back into the 1st for a QB I like in this draft (if I’m the GM/coach. Bare minimum, we need to take a flyer on a QB somewhere in the draft. Maybe a Howell with good tools drops in the draft. This kid, at the very least, needs competition in camp. You don’t have a QB until you do. That was my argument to keep Corral around as a backup option. I was wrong on that player, but I do think it’s the right call to have another young signal caller around to develop.
  4. Defending Bryce and downplaying Stroud is cope until Bryce shows literally anything. At all. Hopefully a coaching change helps some. Im not even saying you are wrong, but it’s just a weird hill to die on when Bryce doesn’t even flash talent right now.
  5. Depends on how you define “thing.” Rumors are things, and they grow into false “facts” if shared enough. I’d have to see something concrete. Of course a player would want a contract, but there was nothing indicating he would hold out or something.
  6. Yeah that’s the problem. There are way too many variables to rely on any one statistic. It’s a never ending abyss of “context.”
  7. The older I get, the more I hate statistics. I just don’t see how any of this stuff matters at all. Just lead your team down the field and score points. “Hypothetical this, perhaps that”: it just doesn’t matter. You can find stats defending anything, you can find stats condemning anything. I’ll stick to the basics, like 1 god damn win. Or how our offense is 99.7% a pain in my ass to watch.
  8. Unfortunately, that would take probably 2-4 years for new footwork or mechanics to become muscle memory (or unconscious). Think Aaron Rodgers changing his upper body mechanics from Cal. Aaron was able to because he sat for multiple years behind Favre though. He fixed it behind the scenes. I think Bryce’s only chance to improve short term, is to make better reads. Then medium term is better supporting cast/coaching scheme. Then long term is mechanics. I think he/we are fuged but hope I’m wrong.
  9. EXACTLY. For whatever reason, people want to score a certain way. I just want us to score. You’d think having Cam for nearly a decade would have shown people that what matters is moving the ball down field. Air, ground, penalty? Who cares. Just move the ball down there and give yourselves a chance. People are obsessed with analytics, advanced stats, completion percentage, QBR, PFF, blah blah blah………S2 test scores………… Making it too complex. I don’t care if my QB has 50% completion if we score 27 points. That’s what matters.
  10. I’ll throw Woods in there too. If it wasn’t for the new age soft rules resulting in his “personal fouls”, he’s been exactly the hard hitting, give up his body to blow up the catch, tone setter at safety that we love. “Defenseless receiver” calls are so subjective and inconsistent, yet they call it every time on him. But I see a guy with impeccable timing who isn’t afraid of a damn thing. I like him.
  11. The trade Burns thread was one of the longest threads I can remember. I doubt that indicates agreement.
  12. I had to let the Corral love go…and he was an injured 3rd rounder. It’s gonna take a lot longer for the Bryce defenders to see the light.
  13. I thought about it, got sad… Then because I hate myself, I did this but with Cam. Now I’m sadder…why do I do this to myself?
  14. It’s funny, because a this point I just assume Corral quit football. Not getting a sniff of a chance…with how bad Bruce looks… I don’t blame him for quitting.
  15. No one knows how Wilks would have done. He’s not Ron Rivera. Ron Rivera is Ron Rivera. What we know is that he became interim of a laughing stock of a team, instantly made them respectable (with no QB), and now we have returned to laughing stock status. None of us know Wilks personally (or Ron for that matter) so there’s just a lot of assuming going on. I get that people want the next stud offensive coach, but good luck to them trying to light up the league with no QB. Wilks did pretty good (and ran the appropriate scheme imo) for a Sam Darnold led offense.
  16. Frank seems like a good guy. It wouldn’t shock me if he, at the end of his road, wants all the stink on him instead of Brown, who’s at the beginning of his road. Sure it might be a control thing, but I just have a hunch it isn’t.
  17. I always wondered what Bengals fans in the 90’s felt like. Dear god.
  18. A lot of Wilks love sprinkled throughout the huddle. Good to see. He earned the job, but people didn’t like winning the way he was winning games. McVay’s don’t grow on trees, and neither do franchise QB’s. Wilks showed how you win with McAdoo and a mediocre QB (which most QB’s are btw). Football isn’t that complicated. You will win games if you control the clock and defend. There’s maybe 5 QB’s I’d trust to throw it 40+ times a game, and you have to get mad lucky to land one of those guys.
  19. I’ll take the next front office seriously if they correctly “Rosen” Bryce. No sense waiting 2-3 years for a guy without NFL physical ability to develop.
  20. If you fully embrace the suck, it’s hilarious. Be one with the suck.
  21. Bryce would be bigger (lol) imo. Russell had no physical limitations. Actually his only physical problem may be that he was too big. Terrible pick, but at least he had a cannon and wind couldn’t sack him.
