Get Minshew on the relatively cheap. Use him to judge how good a coach Rhule is. Rhule has gotten to select his guy 2 years in a row at ridiculous costs given production. Now its time for the front office to select for him and see what he can do. If we flounder again, adios. If he performs well and the team does well, then maybe Rhule sees year 4. There really isn't much difference between Minshew and any of the QBs this year other than draft pick cost.

We do. But I'm not sold on any of this years prospects at 6. That's an elite level player pick and I just don't see any qb as elite this year.

I think the concern was the NFL could hold of on his suspension until after his civil trial which could take a couple of years. It's possible he could be suspended multiple games or indefinitely depending on the outcome and 150m for 3 years against the cap with no way to recover it.

It's possible one could be there at 6.

I want BC as a swing tackle and draft a LT. Get rid of Irving since he was never any good anyway or keep him for some other useless purpose like waterboy. Keep Elfien as a backup center/guard if we have too but I'd be perfectly fine with a late round center and letting him walk as well.

Why does everyone keep saying make BC a guard. He looked horrible there last year and it's not his natural position. Keep him as a swing tackle, draft a LT, move Brown to LG or get a decent vet.

Our QB, whoever it is, won't know what to think when there isn't someone in the backfield in under half a second.

Right. It's just who is going to evaluate Minshew. Rhule? Please no. It's possible Minshew could be the next Jake. I just don't want to make a move for him if we think he's a 6 or 7 win QB. We're not going to accomplish anything other than a few feel good wins and a draft pick in the teens.

Rhule knows he has to win or he's out. He's been publicly told as much. He lost his best shot at that with DW. He's desperate. Because he's desperate, we're desperate.

This franchise reeks of desperation right now.

Unless he's taking us to the playoffs, there's no point. Winning 7-8 games hurts the franchise long term. Next years QB class is much better than this one. Endure the season, send Rhule packing. New HC gets to select his QB with a top pick, or a trade up costs less if we have to, and begin again.

Why does everyone but Tepper realize Rhule is a problem?

I really hope not. Baker isn't worth a 1st and he wants out of Cleveland. No need for us to give away picks to save them from their own stupidity.

Minshew was actually my preferred choice over Darnold long before we made the trade. He had more swag and poise than Darnold has ever had, and I was shocked he went in a trade for a 5th. He had some success, even in Jacksonville. It may not of translated here, but I always felt he had the most upside with the least amount of risk.

They both would likely have rather had a starting role than backup. And yeah, I'm pretty sure if we had offered either one of them 23m for 2 years they both would have jumped at it. What greatness did Sammy D demonstrate? His 2500 yards 9 tds and 13 ints. Maybe it was the 200 yards rushing, 5 tds and 9 fumbles. It doesn't matter if Minshew or Trubisky were better than Darnold. He was a terrible QB over the course of the season. If they had finished worse than Sam, we would be talking about a top 5 pick instead of the 6th. That's not exactly something to hang your hat on.

Actually there were other QBs available that would have cost far less. Minshew or Trubisky could have easily been acquired and accomplished the same results.

If he wanted to be here, he'd be here by now. Pull the offer and move on at this point. We're the ugly chick at the bar waiting for someone to take us home after last call.
