Same. I like the guy. I hope he figures it out but if his play yesterday becomes the norm, then we definitely gotta move on. -

They are bad, bad. It's almost as if he literally isn't seeing the defense. I think the game is too fast to him. He can't process it that fast or something. Because he said it best, it's like he's seeing ghosts out there. -

I think we should we go OL with the first pick too. I wouldn't be upset. However, Sam isn't the answer. -

They'll blame anything but Sam for Sam's decisions. -

If you take a glance above your post, you'll notice we talked about improving the offensive line. The point is getting a good QB to go along with that line. As poo as the offensive line is, they didn't make Sam throw those interceptions yesterday. Those were all bad decisions made by Sam himself. -

Trust me, I know. What's the point if you can't win it all? This offense isn't there and it won't be until we replace Sam and the offensive line. Picking up his option was the dumbest thing we did in the off season. -

He never said that tho. He said we need a QB that can play ball when the offensive line is outmatched. Your offensive line isn't going to hold up perfectly in every game. And when they don't hold up, you need a QB that can carry you the rest of the way. He actually said the two aren't mutually exclusive. Which they arent. You can have a good QB AND a good oline. We have neither. I hope as much as anybody that Sam improves. But so far, he has only regressed. -

All you gotta say is: 2015 MVP. #1 scoring offense in the league with no line and no receivers. Cam did that. Sam threw 3 bad interceptions yesterday. The poor offensive line play is inexcusable. But to place the 3 interceptions all on them is disingenuous. Sam made poor decisions and they'll do anything to refute any point that says otherwise. Including ignoring the videos of all 3 interceptions that I've posted in this thread that doesn't show him get hit once, but did show him make 3 bad decisions. -

The other interception I haven't posted yet for anyone who wants to see it again. Starts at 8:48. Plenty of time to throw. Steps into his throw and throws right to the defender. So... in conclusion, he wasn't actually being hit on any of these interceptions and was in duress for maybe one of them. -

If I had Steve's number, I would. Then he'd probably punch me. He tends to do that. -

The throw isn't the issue in that play. The ball was placed perfectly.... if there weren't any defenders there. The problem is there were defenders there. And Sam still threw it. -

They knew what was coming. And it was covered. That's on Brady. But Sam made a bad read and a bad decision and threw the ball. That's on Sam. -

No he didn't. The Slay interception is at 1:15. He wasn't being hit there either. But admittedly in a collapsing pocket. It was a great play by Slay and a bad throw by Sam. -

I don't think that affected his throw at all. If Robby was the only one there, then the ball placement is good. The problem with that play isn't that he's under duress and made a bad throw. It's that he didn't see the defense at all and made a bad decision. -

Rhule blames the D when asked about offensive struggles
Kuhndog94 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hindsight is 20/20. It's very possible that we wouldn't get the conversion there. But as a fan, I like to see aggressive play calling. Personally wouldn't have blamed him if we didn't make it. I agree that the problem is the offense. If we continue to have problems in the 2nd half, Joe Brady should be on the hot seat. It would've been nice if the defense recovered that ball in the endzone. But again, if we are relying on our defense to score points, then we have big problems with the offense. -

I'm not sure what's got your goat. I'm just commenting on what he said. I think you're reading too much into my posts. -

I'm not reading into anything. Just reacting to what I heard during the press conference and the literal subject of the thread. It's silly to even imply the defense has an equal part blame in the loss. They put the offense in position to win several times. That's the bottom line. Whether he actually believes what he says or not is another matter. Just silly to even imply there's shared blame after they carried the team through the game. He's right that it's on him and the coaching staff. But even moreso on Joe Brady and his inability to get the offense going. He should be on the hot seat. Nothing he has done here is impressive. And if the comments about him not adjusting as the game progresses is true, then he should be gone. If the DBs are that locked in to our play calling that they know what route Robby is going to run before he runs it, then he should be gone. Rhule even makes a comment during the press conference along the lines of most of our touchdowns come during the first few drives of the game and then we stall out... I mean not adjusting or switching up play calls would explain that. I don't think its fair to look at that and see the offense isn't producing and then imply the blame should be shared. Like I said, whether he believes that or not, I don't know. After all, you mentioned this is for the media. To answer your question, we react to stuff like this because this is a football message board. At the end of the day, its just football and nothing that happens here has a bearing on what happens with the team. Nothing I say, you say, or anyone else says here affects the game in any way. So like the fans we are, we'll comment and discuss things that happen with the team or are said about the team. If we didn't, there'd be nothing to talk about. -

The frustration comes from redirecting blame, not once but twice, from the offense to the defense during the press conference. Sure its a team game. But something like "The defense put the offense in the position to win several times" would've been more appropriate than "The defense has let us down 2 weeks in a row..." To basically say "I know everyone is going to say the defense played well, but nah, lemme poo on em for a minute, they should've finished the game" is rich considering that defense produced 3 turnovers and a blocked punt. The defense played well and did their part yesterday. They can't help that the offense consistently gave up short fields. The Eagles only had to travel 27 yards for that last touchdown. You can only expect so much from your defense. Credit is due, not blame. Especially not equal blame. Yeah, the defense should've stopped them. But they were also the reason the game was as close as it was. That's the problem here.
