Panthers met with Hooker per report
bobcat91 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
We are going to screw this up. Go big or go home. Move up and get Stroud. Fill in the rest with our remaining picks and FA. -
Quarterbacks win championships
bobcat91 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
No to Lamar, Carr or anyone else who's teams are trying to get rid of them. These a reason for that. Package pics and go get Stroud. It's a qb driven leage and we don't have one -
I'd take Sam back. There's no way we can say anyone we draft won't need some time

Athletic mock from today Top 6 picks

If we trade up to the top of the draft, It's for Stroud, not a qb we can have if we just stay at 9 -
Frank Reich's Intro Presser - Today, Noon EST

This franchise can show it really wants to win Championships or just be another toy for a rich owner. Show me you are serious by trading up for Stroud, who is the only Alpha in this draft. Show me you don't care by bringing in a Carson Wentz type and drafting a loser like Richardson. -
The NFL is a qb driven league and we don't have a winner on the roster or available in FA. Do what you have to do to get Stroud and fill in the rest in FA.

Fangio was hired by Miami. I prefer him over Bradley
-
Another bs hire in a long history of bs hires. We are not serious about winning here.

Report. Panthers pivoting from Shane Steichen

Translation all we have left to pick from is garbage -
Streichen and Stroud. If we are going to trade pics I want it to be for a player and not to the Saints for a coach
-
He gets you to a SB, something we don't do well. I'd rather get the Eagles OC because I don't want to give up a 1st round pick, but like him in general as a HC

Can Sam Darnold play himself into becoming the 2023 starter?
bobcat91 replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lawrence looked like crap until he received proper coaching. I'd go for the best WR or rush end in the 1st -
No and they will be off the board before pick 5

Clean house. All Wilks did was be mediocre enough to keep us from drafting a franchise QB.
-
I'm not discussing if he is a basket case. He sucks as a QB. I have no interest in investing in a guy who is that mediocre one day and excellent the next. There have been way too many bad days.
-
He had 1 good game out of 11. We already have that on the roster
-
Stroud is the only QB worth our pick. Young is too small and injury prone:see Tua. Levis is a solid qb but nothing about him says Star and Hooker has too many question marks. If we don't have the number 1 pick to get Stroud, I want the best player in the draft, Will Anderson. He is a smaller version of Lawrence Taylor. Rebuild this team with talented and hard nosed players. We haven't had that approach for years and it shows.
-
Sadly, he's an NFL guard. We had a chance to draft Charles Cross who has really looked good for Seattle, but too many Homer's wanted him.

Corral may develop into a good QB but the lunacy of him challenging for a starting job is over. Let him sit behind a couple of guys and learn. Also the thought of trading Darnold this year should go away as well. He is our backup.
-
Wait, wait, wait. Isn't this Matt Corral, who everyone on here gushed about being our Saviour. First round talent? I think I heard that before on here when we got a steal in Greg Little. Lol. Oh well, it is preseason

Big Ten and SEC fixing to dismantle the ACC?
bobcat91 replied to Squirrel's topic in Carolina Panthers
SEC fan and alum here. The reason the SEC football is so good is that every team minus Vandy has a chance to get better quickly. Yes, there are blue bloods that will always be good, but others are able to flourish as well. In the ACC, Clemson is traditionally very good, but after that the competition is no where near what you see in the SEC week end and week out. Play Bama, Arkansas, LSU and Texas A & M in 4 consecutive weeks and your team health suffers. The SEC will only take teams that expand the tv dollar, and as such the rumor is that they are talking to UNC, UVa, Clemson and FSU. Sure we would take ND but that isn't a realistic option. Mizzo was added because when negotiating the last contract, ESPN told the conference that the St Louis and KC markets would increase tv dollars. As for my Big 10 brothers, I laugh when I hear you say the SEC is over hyped. Of the big 3 dollar producers in NCAA sports, there is football, basketball and baseball. In the last three years, the SEC has won all three championships in both football and baseball. And a different team won it each year. That's something that the Big 10 will never touch no matter how many new teams they add. Enjoy watching the SEC dominate -
We went for need with the first two picks, then athletes for the rest. I dont hate that at all. If all this guy does is make plans on special teams, I'm fine. What else are you looking for in the 7th
-
PJ is not an NFL QB. He's gone. We are slowly upgrading most positions.
-
Get a CB or S in the 7th and its been a really good draft with our lack of picks
