Ironically both the guys we drafted this year are known to fight for receptions. They just don't get alot of chances. TMJ and Shi. TMJ is open alot. But either Darnold doesnt have enough time to go through his progessions or he isn't looking his way. I do know BAD things happen whenever we force feed Robby. I might be wrong but I think that's when the interceptions actually started. I wouldnt b suprised if every Darnold to Anderson complete connection that was substantial came while Sam was running for his life or when CMC was pass protecting. Coaching staff is making it a priority for Sam to get it out quick. Thus...he gets the line, snap, holds it 2 seconds then throws it to DJ. Robby is the vertical threat but what's the point if the line can't hold long enough for him to get top speed. For as garbage as Brady can be he does has glimpses of genius ...i.e that 2 point conversion. We could have had Madden calling plays but It wouldn't have mattered if our wr's cant execute. Consistency across the board is indeed a necessity. I really hope every WR we have spend the majority of this week on the Juggs Two 1k receivers but our clutches plays have been made by Ian and Zylstra. The blueprint to shut down our offense: Run stunts with the front four, implement delayed blitzes and just tell the corners to squat on everything underneath. We won't adjust. Blueprint for beating our defense: Limit pressure up the middle. Push our ends out the play..hold 'em since it won't get flagged. Run toward Burns on perceived passing downs and most importantly just do something they haven't seen on our tape this year. We won't adjust.

Positionless Players and the Problem with Being Anti Meta.
ColumbusCounty replied to TheMaulClaw's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well tbh, YGM is your traditional DE. Brown & Fox are very good at run stopping also. That said, we're not close to where we need to be but like I said previously, even when we had traditional players we still had a MASSIVE problem stopping the run at one point. What changed this..... Luke Kuechly. Jermaine Carter is not your ideal starting MLB. He's somewhat adequate but there's a reason we went after Perryman. Also, we just happen to be missing our team leading tackler(iirc), Shaq Thompson. -
We need more inside pressure for him to be most effective. He lines up so wide that when he beats his man if the QB steps up he's out the play. No coincidence that spin move inside is so effective. I will say that last miss was an example of horrible tackling.

Season is not over!!!! And wont be for me until we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. They didn't look defeated, they looked tired. You don't throw in the towel in 6 games into the season with a .500 record. 3-3 is vastly different from 0-6 or 1-5. What's wrong with some of you people???? Lol We DO have to improve in alot of areas but anything is possible in the NFL. You take the good with the bad and keep pushing.

Deonte Brown carted off during practice
ColumbusCounty replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not quite bruh...wth... Horn ... you just just tell he'll be an impact player. Marshall... will be a big part of our offense in the future... Tremble... see above Christensen... see above. Motons first games were comparable. I'll stop there .... and by the end of year 3 ..this could very well end up being a top 1-3 draft in Panther history. That's 4 players with starter potential. Most teams are lucky to get two and a possible. And I didnt even mention Brown and Chubba. -
Soooo.. as for next offseason.. Since teams aren't letting go of lineman, I'm assuming most teams are preparing to open that checkbook. Meaning we'll probably have to break the bank to get even an average body in a uniform here. Right now...as of today: Top olineman: It's going to take a fug ton of money to get me to sign in Carolina with that line beside me. Bottom tier olineman: I hope Carolina calls, I could definitely make that roster. Overpay it is. And go draft crazy. But we also have other needs. K, KR/PR, MLB, possibly Qb(jury still out).
-
You remember when Samuel went down and we were without Cmc and Curtis. THAT would be more like the same scenario. Iirc, at that point we looked almost exactly like we looked yesterday. Something is missing, I just cant put my finger on it( besides olineman ). Maybe Dan Arnold was awkwardly the catalyst of our success. Get that line in order and McCaffrey back and we'll be fine. Not only is Cmc a running and receiving threat but he's low a very good blocker. Sam had a bad game. A couple of bad games but I'm not giving up on him or my QB. We're only 5 games into a 17 game season. If we drop the next two though, that's a totally different story. Crazy thing is...even with all that, if we would have got that fumble instead of that safety we would be at 4-1.

Thursday Panthers - Cowboys injury report
ColumbusCounty replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
This says all you need to know about the skillset. Smdh ... I wish injuries on no man BUT I do however wish the bench 4 all who deserve such. Lol I don't know how a team could make me so happy yet depressed at the same time. -
Horn, DJax, Bouye, CJ Henderson, Chinn, Burris
ColumbusCounty replied to Kuhndog94's topic in Carolina Panthers
This !!!! I'd just change Hartsfield to the slot if his skill can keep the same trajectory as it did the first game. Bouye would be good depth for all 3 spots. -
Only problem we may run into is that Dallas Dline... they really get off the snap in a hurry. Would be the perfect game for McCaffrey.

Panthers about to trade for CJ Henderson?!?!
ColumbusCounty replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we keep Donte, that would leave us with: Jaycee Horn CJ Henderson Donte Jackson AJ Bouye Myles Hartsfield(Dont forget about him, especially if he continues to develop as he has thus far) ... In behind them maybe Keith Taylor, Stanley Thomas Oliver, and Troy Pride Jr Not to mention Rashaan Melvin. That's a tough group. -
Sacked 9 times in his first start.
-
I didnt even address the '16 roster but I loved the '13 group. Which was without a doubt the hardest hitting of the bunch imo. (which I admit I love)... love teams that repeatedly hit you in the mouth. Which was one of the reasons I was sad to see Mitchell go. If I'm putting '13 vs '21 : 2021 Defense (2-0 start) Fox, Jones, Brown, Burns Riddick, Carter Jr, Shaq Jackson, Horn Chinn, Burris Vs. 2013 Defense ...(12-4..started 0-2) Johnson, Star, Cole, Hardy TD, Luke, Blackburn Melvin White, Florence Mikell, Mitchell Those were just the starters but that '13 team also had Norman, Short, Dwan Edwards, Munnerlyn, etc. Just as the '21 has YGM, Bouye, Hartsfield, Haynes, etc. I think it's too early to tell but that '13 front seven was extremely tough. Just having Luke brings your defense up remarkably.
-
I agree. "If" he were to keep up his 1.5 sack per game average, he could actually hit 20+ this year. It's just unrealistic to expect him to sustain that amount of production the entire season. But coming from a guy who had 12.5 last year and put up 5 in one game, I think it might be possible. A little improbable but possible.

Really hope Fitt is trying to lock up Reddick long term.

Panthers are #1 Defense in the NFL
ColumbusCounty replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
I think my problem was mainly that 3 man rush half the game iirc -
Panthers are #1 Defense in the NFL

The entire Dline has a stat in the sack column through the first 2 games ... dont think I've ever said that before. -
Looked kinda like shoulder push ups to me..

NFL Week 2: Initial injury report for Saints vs. Panthers
ColumbusCounty replied to AsylumGuido's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we're going to beat the Saints it'll b this year. They are that one team that seems to have our number every year. We HAVE to atleast split the series. Iirc we havent beat that team in almost 3 years. And the last time we did, Bridgewater was the QB unless I'm mistaken. Gotta get that win on Sunday. Only two teams I feel this way about: Saints and Seahawks. -
Horn doing Horn things in practice
ColumbusCounty replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He has hands I see. Impressive grab. I thought I heard the announcers say he was next to McCaffrey on the hands team for that last punt vs. Jets. I'm just waiting for Jaycee's 1st INT as a Panther... Would be cool to see it happen against a division rival & his father's ex-Team. I know it's on his mind. Last week Darnold, Robby and Luvu had that game circled. This week I'm guessing Marshall and our top two Cbs have it circled..Jackson is from NO, Marshall with the LSU ties and Jaycee's family history. I'm predicting all three of these boys having an extra gear on Sunday. -
Did Tepper ixnay #keeppounding chant?
ColumbusCounty replied to RenoCarolina's topic in Carolina Panthers
Would be incredibly difficult. The only way I think its remotely even possible without the screen prompt would be double sided signs held up on both sides ... one for the keep..one for the pounding. Only thing I could logically think of that would get it cut would be Covid. The plosives and sibilance...The amount of spit flying from "K" and "P". In a crowded space with that many mouths opening in unison might be problematic considering the current situation. -
Actually, I'd call it on Donte. Technically he was last db to run an interception back. Sadly it was on an 2pt conversion so it doesnt count. And ironically it was against the same team we're playing Sunday.
